I'm thinking if refs did this instead of a tech after a couple "fuck yous'"and "that should've been a foul" convos, it promotes more effort by outstanding individuals in the game. Off the top of my head I'm thinking abt Bird or Jordan or Kobe, that situation isn't just a normal game anymore but a way to make a statement and to prove how much better you are. It activates their killer instinct and absolute no remorse towards the opponents.
Dont get me wrong if a fight breaks out, some player tries to fuck w/ a referee or its a blatant tech then that's a tech but trash talk inst just apart of NBA its literally the feeling of you wanting to be the best, you telling others that your better than them, and you provoing (or not!) that your better. Its apart of the game and always will be
