It literally has no bearing on anything you do, no decision consequences, no worthwhile moments and even if you go through with it you lose everything you worked for as in your outposts, your ships etc. If you liked it clown then just say so and stop coping hard.
In complete honesty it's more like 3 to 4 and 2 of those are really preference related. All you really need is the Community patch and achievement enabler
