  • Celluveyor is an omnidirectional conveyor belt that consists of small hexagonal cells capable of moving products in any direction. Operators set a product's course by using special software installed on a tablet. The conveyor belt is most suited for smart warehouses and assembly lines.

    The only thing missing is away for them to individually track the package and respectively sort them to a their specific direction. Amazon and shipping companies will love that.

    It seems like something that works like this has already been around. This is similar to LD3 container loaders used for airplanes.

    I don't think this will replace the traditional conveyor belt anytime soon. It's not as cost-effective as the old one, and could certainly make use of some fine tuning for some movements.

    If you could somehow attach sensors to it so that it knows how large a package is then you could have it automatically send certain sizes to certain places

    Awesome.:-) Furthermore, something like this could enable an omnidirectional treadmill, which could benefit virtual reality.
