      But why it is enlarged as when magnification is less then 1 the image is diminished and when it is greater than 1 the image is enlarged ,here the magnification is -1.5cm ,can someone explain?

      @@ananya_s_club the magnification we found in this question is -1.5cm. You might misunderstand the concept of magnification. Here the (-) sign indicates that the image is inverted, and if the magnification is in positive so the image will be erect. It doesn't matter whether the magnification is in (-) or (+) we have to check that the image magnification is greater than 1. Like in the ques the magnification is -1.5 we have to ignore the sign whether it is positive or negative we have to see that the magnification is greater than 1 (I hope it helps)

      Negative means that the image is real and inverted. If magnification is equal to 1 then image size is equal. If 0 is less then m greater then 1, then m is smaller than the object. Hope you find it helpful and if magnification is positive, then image is erect and virtual.
