Thanks for the great video, I just won the 140th Anniversary version in a contest and I am new to guitar so wanted to know about the controls, thanks so much!

Nice video. Thanks! Handy to see what controls do. Just bought one. Similar set up problems, got it fixed in the shop. A roller bridge fitted and a soft spring on the Bigsby. Apart from that, a fine guitar! ⭐

My Cadillac green 5230T was almost perfect out of the box. All that I've done was add the Vibramate Spoiler to the Bigsby, Might add a roller bridge, but things are pretty stable right now. Oh, and +1 for using a Franklin strap!

Gretsch 5230: I've changed the bridge (Schaller Rollerbridge), the tuner (Harley Benton Locking Tuner) and the Humbucker (Gretsch Filtertron HS). I'm very satisfied now :-)

  • @1redgate8

    nice tone...
My only gripe was corroded strings - was prob sitting in warehouse - everything else was good.
ended up changing the tone cap though - not essential. Tone is pretty much the same (used same value cap), but a little bit smoother. personally i use vol pedal for swells. Loving my Gretsch!

    Sounds killer.
I got one of these guitars in a trade and I love it. Upgraded with locking tuners, Reverend soft spring in the Bigsby, Gotoh TOM bridge, new pots (1 meg master volume) and switched to humbucker sized p90s (the Blacktop Filtertrons were really cool, but I prefer the p90s)

Volume controls that will not swell in intensity evenly are non linear volume pots. Generally they are less expensive for brands manufacture overseas. You pay more for linear volume controls.
