Vupzy Gaming Videos suggested we do an experiment where we did NOT ask parents permission to test kids… and see what PARENTS do… we felt what we did was safer and just as educational and important message. Thanks for the great suggestion. We were inspired to do this experiment/trick after watching a very important series on NBC about child safety regarding being abducted and vehicles.

I worked for child protective services. Parents consistently told me their children would never open the door to a stranger; yet, consistently, I was able to get children to open the door for me.
When i was younger I opened the door for a stranger out of fear, luckily nothing bad happened but I knew they saw me through the window so I thought they would be mad if I didn’t open the door. Still regret that
Hi
@@luxx4 same but they wouldn’t see me through a window. I only opened the door bc the rest of my family would be upstairs while I was downstairs and when I opened the door I would hide behind it and grab something as self defence (I still do it though ngl)
My parents are similar. One time my dad screamed at me for opening the door for a woman me and my mom knew from church but now 4 ish years later whenever someone knocks they tell me to go get it if they don’t know who it is lmao

This was a great reminder to those parents. I bet it made their stomach sink. It's just that fast for someone to steal your child too. I'm so glad my mom was strict and didn't allow me to do everything everyone else's mom or dad did. I remember being at the park when a little girl was stolen and everyone was looking for her. She was never found. She was there by herself to begin with and she was only 13. I still think about her but only when I see things like this because I try to forget as much as possible because it will eat you alive. My life changed so much after that day and taught me a huge lesson I just hate it was due to loss of that precious little girl.

I tested my daughter who's 6 years old with a friend in London. My wife and I watched tbe whole show just 30 feet away, we asked her friend a lady to do this to her. Offer her some sweets and walk off and keep her busy until shes out of sight.. she was quite loud and vocal approaching my daughter which we allowed to test her on and no one on tbe street was worried despite hearing the whole notion and witnessing it.. my kid screamed when the woman my wifes friend took her hand and peoppe said then nothing. My daughter said this isny my mommy wheres my daddy.. no response from public in tbe middle of london ar 11.30am.. when we approached my daughter she was shook up and scared shirtless people then stopped and asked what was going on. Truly dissapointed by general public and very proud of my daughter reacting the way she did. Ever since, my daughter has never left our side; were very sorry for freaking her out but it had to be done.
This is because kids that age don't know what rape is. 99.9% of adults have been "nice" to them. Thats why they trust older strangers.
exactly
TBullets plus the parents are like 20 feet away. maybe if the parents were not around then they might be more cautious. but most of them just saw him talking to their parents. so they probably think that he knows them.
My parents were straight up, they said that if you take candy from a stranger you will get kidnapped and never see us again, that was enought to scare me to not talk to a stranger untill I was 13 then I realized the difference from a friendly conversation and a creepy one
At least My parents tell me all about it
slopcrusher That's exactly what my parents did, now I know a friendly conversation from a creepy one.
My barely-3-year-old niece ran up to me one time and asked me to open a candy for her. It was a small, clear, hard candy hastily wrapped in clear plastic. No brand or writing on the plastic. I asked her where she got it and she pointed and said "That man over there gave it to me!". I obviously took it away from her. God though, it was creepy. Please watch your kids.
Did you call the cops or at least punch the fucker in the face

lol
omg you have a great point!
Ikr ;-;
difference is that most kids have their parents closer by, are in groups and are always told not to go inside. halloween brings a bit more awareness also bc its already "scary" and night time
That's one of the reasons I'm not allowed to do Halloween
Technically just about everyone has taken candy from a stranger, it's called Halloween
Lol
Lol yea but that's different.... Your parents are usually with you and if something happens you can be defended
My dad doesn't let me trick or treat he buys me the candy instead but at least it get to dress up
Yea, but when I trick or treated before when I was younger (don't go anymore). My parents would always, always, check out my candy to see if it looked like it had been opened, or if there was any punchers in the wrapper of the candy.
GTA DERP I don't. I've never gone trick-or-treating.
It's sad. When the night is 'over' (9:30 since theres not many teens where I live) I just get most of the spare candy, put it in my own bowl and watch a movie.
:D
When I was little I was in a situation kinda like this. In my grandparent’s town, there’s a man who gives out balloons. My family thinks he’s really creepy. I’ve been a really paranoid person with a huge distrust for other people my entire life. One day I’m with my family downtown, and they’ve set up chairs in the grass ( there was an event going on so this was fine, we weren’t just setting up chairs in the middle of a town ) and my mom gave me a pizza box to go throw away. The nearest trash can was across the street, so off I went. The pizza box was too wide to fit in the trash can, and my weak 8 year old self couldn’t bend it. The balloon guy comes over, takes the box from me, folds it, and puts it in the trash. I thanked him nervously and he said “ no problem. hey, want a balloon? Just come over here. “ at that point I was extra scared and said “ no thank you “ and before he could do anything else, I ran back to my family.
But I can’t help but think, what if I wasn’t already scared of that guy? What if it was one of my more trusting cousins? What if I wasn’t a paranoid kid? Would I have been gone?
I’m glad you didn’t go with him - people are so unpredictable it’s scary
I felt bad for the kids. I hope the parents now know how to teach stranger danger a little better
Parents just teach, act to the situation is on us.

Thanks for this, Rich!
I have had this thought forever. You can tell your kids twice a day and 3 times on Sunday to not talk to strangers but if you don't tell them what a stranger is it will mean Nothing. I challenge every parent, every grandparent, every aunt and every uncle to ask the children they love what is a stranger, most of them have no idea. If they have been warned repeatedly to not talk to strangers, they will most likely picture someone in their head that looks scary or mean or whatever negative things their minds are capable of coming up with. They probably wouldn't think that someone who looks "nice" would be threatening. I've spent some time considering what would be the best definition for children of any age. A stranger is someone you don't know. Obviously not all strangers are bad people and you don't want your child to be paralyzed with fear.
If anyone has more to share I would be glad to hear it and I'm sure others would too.

Um you do realize that he could get arrested for doing that without their permission right?
I think that's what may have made the kids take his candy. I think that if the kids saw him talking to their parents and then approach them without the parents being protective or anything, they may assume the stranger is not dangerous because the parents has shown that the stranger is not dangerous. I also think there are exceptions like the kids will follow their instinct over their parents.

When we grow up we sometimes forget safety measures we were taught. He asked the kids if they were strangers or friends. Then that they were friends bc they'd hung out and had fun and laughed together for a few minutes. That is a huge thing to look out for even as an adult but we forget. We let our guards down from what our parents taught us. If you're a young adult, get your own drugs/drinks and watch them get made, or use them in a safe environment with people you trust with your life. Dont let your guard down for some new friends you met at the club. Even if they seem really friendly and nice. Even if you've gone out with them several different times. Be careful. Like this man said, sometimes bad people pretend to be your friend so they can hurt you. That's a lesson every age group can take away.
He is actually good at talking to kids and he is good taking their attention.

The problem with this video is it really draws people's attention away from the people we actually need to be worrying about. In reality, this archetype of the pedophile who lures children from the park with candy is probably the rarest kind of pedophile out there. The people we REALLY need to be looking at, are the people who spend prolonged amounts of time with our children - daycare staff, babysitters, clergy, boyscout/girlscout masters, sports coaches, etc. It has always amazed me when people are so surprised that the boyscout master or the basketball coach is a pedophile, but when one puts two and two together, it makes a lot more sense. A predator in a park has very little time to groom a child for sexual interactions, very little privacy to do so, and takes a very big risk in snatching a child from a park. The pedophile at the park also has no idea what he/she is getting in such a context. What if the kids look different than they thought once they get their clothes off in the basement after they've kidnapped them? A basketball coach or a babysitter on the other hand, has numerous opportunities to see the child in various states of undress with legitimate reason to do so in the locker room or the showers or during bath time. These are also positions where the pedophile has established authority over the child, whereas the pedophile at the park does not. Authority combined with trust is a powerful cocktail when dealing with children.
Furthermore, what's most misleading about this, is it perpetuates a false stereotype about the people who actually have sex with children. Most of these people are not sadistic predators, just seriously disturbed people who think that this behavior is acceptable, often times because they themselves were objectified sexually by adults during their childhoods and so they don't see it as wrong.
So is it an interesting social experiment? Yes. But are people who hand out candy to kids in the park people that we need to worry about most of the time? No. The people who need to be scrutinized are the people we let our kids spend prolonged amounts of time with... alone, especially if those people are being modeled as trusted authority figures.
Nate Matranga Yes, I agree... but how to film an entertaining or interesting prank or magic video otherwise? Not easy. However, your argument is based on statistics... think of it this way: 99% of all shark attacks are in less than 2 feet of water... NOT because THAT is the area to avoid, but because THAT is where 99.99999999% of people in water ARE! Similar to statistic with kids. YES, daycare, friends, etc are where "most" issues are but because that is where kids are in contact with adults 99.999999999% of the time.
Emmanuel Goldstein
I don't think it is a problem with the video. There isn't always one scenario, also the predators may not hurt the kids at the park but lure them to kidnap them, you really never know and can never be too careful.
That's irrelevant to the whole video. They're two separate problems
Yeah you don't get it.
Talking to strangers,AND giving away your personal details to a stranger are EXCELLENT stuff that should be being taught to kids who are in primary school,or just as they are about to start primary school!!
The consequences of what could occur if you DID do it is mainly what you should be focusing on,so that it's easier for them to understand, and you should alsi be asking them questions,so that you know that they've been listening.
You could also use helpful videos, such as this one to help you out within doing all that.
Once this happened to me, not from candy but from where i live. I was going out with a group of friends until we met a lady. We talked to her a bit and then she asked where we lived. This happened in a park and it was just in front of my house. I turned back to my house but not to be suspicious into thinking that was my house. I just said uhh its none of your buisness. 10 minutes later i wanted to go home because it was getting dark and there was a van in a parking lot. The lady was walking towards it. I stayed with my friends somewhere hiding. The lady got on the van and drove off. I watched the van drive off until i couldnt see the backlights anymore. After that i immediately ran home so fast. I kept looking back where the van drove last time. Finally i reached my house.
I took candy from a stranger once
The stranger was a guy working in a shop
I gave him the candy and the money
He gave me the candy back
Should I still eat the candy
No absolutely not if it's from a stranger then no you throw it away cause you don't know, what they might have put on it.It could have been poison or something nasty you don't know. But if it's from a store that's fine but if it's from a unknown stranger then no you get rid of that garbage immediately cause what you don't know could save your life though trust me.

Good ur an intelligent person bcuz me too i experienced something like that.I was in a park w/ my friend where a stranger told me that my parents told him(stranger) to fetch me. I told him show me proof. He showed me his phone that he got a call by my parents. Fortunately I knew my parents phone number and I wasn't the number that he showed me. I told him that it wasn't my parent's phone number. He got really mad and he tried to grab me by my shirt. My friend and his parents was in the toilet. I quickly Kick the guy in his Tibia and ran as fast as I could. I was screaming and the other people was trying to hold down the kidnapper. Someone called the police and since then I always go out with my parents.
If a stranger said : do you want some candy?
Me : no thank u.
BUT WHEN A STRANGER SAID : do u want a new phone?
Me : HELL YEA
Same
Same

My mum always said never take anything food type from a stranger as it could be drugs I still take that advice and will share that with my children in the future
I grew up in the ghetto and made my dad's eyes wobble when he told me the same thing, because my little smart mouth said; "Well if it's candy form it's gonna be a bad hit anyway so what's the point when we can't even sell it?".
I was 12-ish at the time.😂
I am 25 but with that personality, he could even kidnap me. Best thing you can do is to be really careful
