Wow! Very monstrous and spacious sound! 👍
That's what I see being said about almost every synth.
@@Jason75913 I only said that about this synth. Perhaps big and spacious are qualities that for many, really make a great synth and are looked for 🤷♂️.
@@HowlingMoonCinemas are looked for and found in everything, according to their redundant opinions
🤣
@@Jason75913 That's not true at all. Several digital synths lack those qualities, as well as warmth found only on analog type. You make zero sense anyhow and now you even seem to just be talking to yourself 🤷♂️.
@@HowlingMoonCinemas which is pretty close to how I feel, but there people for every synth calling its sound "huge", "monstrous", and so forth. Go argue with them, if you want. No, they aren't the same people every time.
🤦
And this brings me back to what I first said.
I dig it. Reminds me of a Casio CZ series on steroids.
Nice synth and sound effects machine! Thanks for demo 🙂
please continue this machine
Carbonate sounds bubbly and delicious!
An interesting synth
Something in between Argon8 and Cobalt8, I think is what it is.
This sounds a lot more lush than my argon8x, I like it. But I think that means we need more filters for the argon.
This software "mish mash" of Carbon and Argon synths makes some sense in a number of ways. A re-paint/re-label of existing part inventory + the new engine maybe generates at least some sales even though the asking price is $250 more? I guess there is a very slim possibility someone could pick up that more or less ready to go inventory for cheap on liquidation then release it? However, who would buy it under that circumstance since IF someone does that I could not see them also picking up warranty, support, and further development. Given the 100% digital design I guess someone could acquire just the IP and possibly release VSTi versions for not much risk...
A few words:
Mayer EMI MD400
A lot more expensive, but a lot more going on it. Sounds lush
Sounds brilliant, but it’s now Feb 2024, what has, or is, happening with the Carbon 8????? From a eager Modal electronics fan , kind regards Mick
Hi there, not sure whether this helps but Scott's Synth Stuff YT channel recently reported that Modal Electronics has been rescued. Today I've received a new Argon 8 and updated the firmware to V3.2 using the still available Modal app with no problem. I appreciate it's not the Carbon 8, but maybe the future looks bright... Nick
@@nicholasbeech9087 Thanks Nick, hopefully the Carbon 8 is still on the production line as I know that I’m not the only eager person to purchase one. I have had difficulty with updates so must try again soon. Kind regards Mick.
Basic High desire
I like this synth.Although sound proof is nothing new.
I'm no hater (I have the Cobolt8 and the Argon8) but can't help think It would just be much more simple to have a Modal8 synth and just buy the engines... They seem to be the same hardware with different oscillator algorithms. .
The RAM and CPU configurations of Argon8 and Carbon8 are different and make their firmwares incompatible with each other's hardware.
@@Jason75913 Interesting! Which one is the most powerful do you have the specs?
@@Cheeses_K_Riced The apple is more powerful because it helped discover gravity, and it also contains cyanide.
@@deepnlow808 from watching a Sonicstate video in the past the Argon has more RAM due to all the wavetables and then the Cobalt has more CPU for filter and analog modeling.
@@kennymester Thanks for the info,.
RIP Modal Electronics...
Nothing lures me away from my Opsix
Funny I said the same thing 😆
And shouldn't.
Complement your Opsix with Modal gear, a Novation Peak, Krome EX, or Fantom-06.
First
Them sausage fingers tho 😬
shush!
🤣
pretty boring actually ... this type of pseudo modelling synthesis did NOT CHANGE for OVER 20 YEARS NOW
What did change was the price...
it has reached a limit of sorts, there is nothing new in this sort of synthesis @@liantrosretrospectiva4134
We get spoiled easily... 20 years ago, something like Carbon8 would've cost $10k in today's money, but people are rarely satisfied in our times.
