      It's actually kind of incredible how healthy their food is, during high school I was well over 200 lbs, I switched over to japanese cuisine and started working out. Not a complete gym rat or anything, just trying to be healthy. And now I'm a skeleton with skin stretched over it.

      @@matthewparsons6689 this is the reason I've switched to a japanese/japanese inspired diet. Its incredible how much better I feel when I eat now, and if I eat something outside of the japanese realm now I feel so much worse. I ate a burrito the other day and didn't need to eat for the rest of the day because I was so stuffed lol.

    I can't tell if it's freaky or awesome how the name of the dish was explained and the "family reunion" line was enthusiastically delivered, lmao. Either way, this is one of those dishes I've seen mentioned in countless Japanese media I've always wanted to try... and really seems simple to make at home, after all these years.

    I made this today and it was delicious, super simple too. I just used the dashi powder instead of making it own. Loving these recipes, Ryosuke. They're simple, healthy and tasty and fulfil my continuous craving for Japanese food. Hope you show us many more recipes!

    Ever since I saw that video from Abroad in Japan I wanted to make this, but I never searched up a recipe. I know made my own recipe that is wildly different from this but I'm happy with it.
    Its basically a layer of cooked rice, a layer of chicken, paprika and onions in a layer of an omellete of 6 eggs, some milk and some chili sauce together with any spices I fancy (mostly roasted paprika)!

    This recipe is way better then the one I have been using. I like that you marinate the chicken first and use dashi instead of water. I also like the suggestion of sautéing the onions first for added flavor. おいしいですありがとうございます

    It's nice how you show us to make Dashi the "right way"... I make it frequently from Kombu and Bonito, good for keeping it refrigerated for about two weeks. I even put it in german "Eintöpfe", which is a thick broth with chunks of meat and veggies... Keep up the delicious videos 🙂 subscribed!!!

    Thank you for being "real" chef that shows his mistakes and lets his subscribers know that so they won't make them. I was wondering why sometimes you use grapeseed oil instead of olive oil?

      My only guess is that grapeseed oil is a more neutral tasting oil as compared to the earthier flavor of olive oil. It also has a higher smoke point which it looked like he needed considering how quickly those onions seared.
