- Certain names ring down through history as men and women who shaped the world. Some were forces of chaos, destructive and rapacious. Some were men of honor who fought for the right. Some defended their homelands from invaders, while others used their military might to violently acquire the lands of others. Battles such as Agincourt, Manzikert, and Hastings are remembered as turning points in world history, and names such as Henry V, Yi Sun-shin, and Erik the Red are etched forever as great conquerors. Now relive their tragedies and triumphs.

Gunpowder has not yet been invented... Let's make Petards!
actually powder have been used tho
TheReacTT gunpowder is discovered not invented
oil could have been used in large amounts to do the explosions though...and yes there was oil :)
Trebs have fire lol
They used lemon bomb :)
Viper: "Don't kill the monk, don't be that guy"
*Immediately kills 4 monks*
"Gunpowder not invented" I love the historical accuracy in the campaings! *cought* Bombard towers earlier
HaBBiSiFy COUGH COUGH PETARDS WHICH USE GUNPOWDER TO BLOW UP COUGH COUGH
Lieutenant Toy Freddy no they use lemon bomb
petards really ruined all campaigns
Bombard towers used by the Romans against the huns and the saxons using bombard towers against the Norman's great campaign design lol
This scenario always made me sad. The poor Byzantines, racked by treachery and mercilessly slaughtered by Viper-microed cav archers. I feel sorry for them.
I am Turk but I'm getting sad too.Byzantine is great civilization
@@y.y.u.y.r.i3780 whats with the name lmao
use this lumberjack is wood, cheese steak jimmy's is food, robin hood is gold and rock on is stone
****This knowledge of Turkish history is a gift from me to all of you. ;)****
Gunpowder was found by the Chinese in 142 A.D. For this reason, Petrart exists, *but the Janissary Union was established during the Ottoman period.* This scenario describes the Battle of Manzikert in 1071. After the Battle of Manzikert, *the Ottoman Empire was established in 1299 AD.* There is no Janissary in the game scenario because of this.
After Viper got the 3rd city he was like a little child on Christmas morning 11
Not starting with the Trebuchets really makes a difference! Quite challanging mission :)
Do you ever start with trebuchets?
Lukas G!
On standard difficulty.
the game gives you extra units/buildings in some missions if u choose standard difficulty
Its easy since you can just wait afk for more ressources
Without any lag I micro much worse! 15:40
Also, you could have traded between your allies markets and your own
Is that why they click so often at the same spot? Or is it just to gain apm?
Alan yes i started trade carts right away too.
Manzikert has always been to my the most unique and creative scenario in the aoc campaigns.
I loved the Lepanto scenario. Very challenging unless you can outsmart the AI. Can't wait to see Viper play that one soon!
always hated it, always will :))
+Brett Donaghue
You think Lepanto is challenging? I found it one of the least challenging campains... I just task all my Villagers to build the Wonder and win quickly.
Martin,
I found it quite challenging the first play through because I did not know what to expect (all those transports landing at the same time to land up at the top of the map where I neglected to put any units since the wonder is at the bottom) and I lost the wonder with about 5 years left. The second play through, I simply walled off the entire coastline and stationed fire ships and demos all over so their transports could not even land, which did make this one pretty easy.
You can cheese the scenario by building a stone wall along the shoreline.
There were hidden heroes in this campaign, they were in the rams, that's why they died so fast #clearly
Tomas Angel haha i know u are bullshiting

"Don't kill the monk, don't be that guy." - TheBiper, 5 seconds before sniping 4 monks ;)
"why do I always do things prematurely"
It's ok biper, we won't judge swedes
but viper is Norwegian
yet he did not know Eric the red
The campaign starts in Adana.
Where is the Saracen Team Bonus when you need it?
wouldn't even have helped lol, it doesn't affect cavalry archers xD
Today Viper took better care of even his foot soldiers than he would usually of his main Hero.
This is the effect you get when there's no villager guarantee
has palisades around tc
builds farms on the other side of palisades
AI logic
36:01 "Don't kill the monk, don't be that guy." *Biper immediately annihilates 4 monks*
if viper attempts the speeding up gig in the forgotton missions he is gonna have a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad time
(units get stuck in literally everything when you do that)
29:49
"We surrender! Just spare our families."
"Yes my child!"
His voice just cracked in an indescribable way!
*Yes I shall, tho :p
I have impaired hearing! Don't judge me! I mishear a lot of stuff therefore making me a very good parody singer!
WHO TOUCH THE CHILD?
Please Stand By YOU TOUCHIN THE CHILD???
@@MALEMization dude, no one is judging you, on;y correcting you
Can't believe Viper didn't see the monastery of Cappadocia, he even looked for it
This was one of my favourite scenarios. Always built Trade Carts and built a sizable army to defeat the Byzantines. Tried to challenge myself sometimes by capturing only two or one of the towns to kill the Byzantines. Should try a no town run at some point
A couple of trade carts between starting base and green is good, pop isn't much of a problem and it beats waiting around to get resources. They intentionally allowed it. It would accommodate the Viper necessities.
"Who needs battle rams? They are overrated" Especially in castle age limitation: lol!
The Viper is very funny in my opinion in his commentaries.
Agincourt is the EASIEST of the bunch! Longbowmen own!
MALEMization
But i lose a lots in that one....
No one else knows this? At start of campaign you can run straight into green flag area without breaking down the walls...just select one of your light cav and right click on flag and it will run past castle to open area in other side and convert that town even before your rams reach red walls.
Don't worry, longbowmen will not be your nightmare in the next scenario.
So frustrating watching him scroll past the monastery in reds base over and over again then saying, "I still have no monastery"
Im pretty sure that monastery stayed red when he took over the town, so its true he had none
The trick is to attack Red's walls to trigger their defense, and when the camels run through the gate, you run your cavalry through while it's open. You can reach red's town center without sieging anything, and their towers shoot the enemy once you conquer red.
Vipe, Why did not you use trade?)
Too easy. But yeah, I would have defended, traded like hell and then massed up army. But I like to get huge army first
I always made a few carts so I wasn't fully relying on the tributes.
trade carts are 100 wood each... Don't think Viper thought of trading but I also don't think he would have been patient enough to wait for resources to trade if he did think of it.
Because viper is not a patient man haha
trade is the tryhard way to win this map. but it works.
There is an upcoming Turkish movie called "Malazgirt (1071)" It's based on these events.
Great TheViper Phrases: "Why do I always do things prematurely?!"
no dead heroes, good for you
From my experience of playing this two times, easy way to do it : Green can be captured by simply running in through the back gate by waiting for someone to open the gate. One scout is all it needs to capture green. Then trade with green, it gives 50 gold per trade, then make rams, enter the red base. Then capture yellow, all this while trading with green. You have so much resources by now. After destroying the first castle you can reroute trade to yellow, gives you around 120 G per trip. After taking blue's second castle, queue petards from all three castles. And destroy blue's base.
Interesting battle that took place before the age of gunpowder
@ 10:10 that's what she said.
"can not afford to lose cav archers"?
"Why do I always do things prematurely?"
relax, it was an attempt at a corny joke, my apologies.
wasn't a bad joke, I was just joking further :p
22:00 "I would like more wood, sir"
24:34 Oh I hate that part, that locked gate really threw me off as a kid.
Still my favourite mission though.
A year has passed and i'm still wonder why you didn't convert those saracens idle vils... Haha.
You can't, heresy is automatically researched so it just kills them instead.
you need to debate the castles ;)
lmao you got no TREBUCHET in first attempt
Vipa the lil geek :3
Pretty sure that's gunpowder in petard's barrel.
Nah, it was manure they lit on fire.
prankstereddy nah its oil
When you run out of rams, you always can use archers to bring down the gates and unleash the hell
Finally, my favourite mission in the base game. :D
8:24 rip capped ram
Nice Arabia themed Intro. When will you had a TC being deleted in the outro?
Geez turks without gunpowder units? I'd be saying gg as soon as the campaign opens
36:01 "Don't kill the monk. Don't be that guy." 5 seconds later - kills 4 monks.
At 10:11 Viper asks himself, "Why do I always do things prematurely?"
Is that what Mrs Viper asks you as well? =P
You pronounced Kapadokya right the first time :D ( then changed) ... And It should have sounded like Selchuk not Selyuk... but the even the game says Selyuk so yeah whateva :D
You need to trade!
Gee I think that's the first time I've ever heard a complaint about there NOT being lag
I think all yellow units die when you take over their town.
no
36:10 "Don't kill the monk, don't be that guy" *kills 5 or 6 enemy monks*
Praise our Norske saviour!
Im already seeing in the Forgotten Campaigns videos with Pt1 & pt2. Your skilled viper but those maps are....."special"
He seriously need to start using the save feature there. Otherwise he won't make it, on first tries at least.
Yes 720p immediately thanks biper wp 11
tenn atey pee masta rays
I started this mission by doing 3 mangonels instead of rams... no repair vills... gg...
Second try i liked it. I already thought it is over for Viper after losing the rams, but he just took the gate with cavarchers.
Good Job Mr. Viper!
By watching the best AOE2 player on the planet i've learned that '''just do it'' is a very efective go to strategy.
How can I turn up speed to more than 2x in game?
only in single player using the "+" in the numpad, you can do up to 8x
Relux the Relux thanks +1
Desperate tip of the day: you can rest the swordmen in your tower and let them destroy gates and go back every time one is low in hit points (slow and steady! (^_-)).
But the cav archers did the job anyway (like turtles fight (^_^)).
Shouldn't the blue player reach imp in this campaign ?
the viper the terror of clans
Don't be that guy. Bloopsies, LOL.
Once all campaigns of all expansions are done, maybe u could consider playing random scenarios like Lotr. I think that would be entertaining to see u play some of them. I know I'd watch.
Weren't there Saracens villageres left in the gold camp? (30:31) can't really distinguish the colors, but if so, those could be converted.
Lolme they have the research where if you convert they die, I can't think of the name of the top of my head
It's heresy
Wait, so what did defeating the Saracens even do? Pisidia's gold tribute only shrank through the game, not increase.
You could maybe convert villagers
HELP!!! The Crusaders are attacking our trade routes!
Trade Carts work wonders in this map.
Destroy the small piece of wall next to the gate instead of the gate????
"mistakes were made" - lol my kind of playthrough
14:26 "Give Me Your Extra Resources" .... 14:46 how about some stone?
I really want to see him complete the Lepanto campaign... It's the only one that will actually be a challenge.
Would You Rather: Cars just wall off the shoreline and then they cant land
@32:51 A moonwalking knight.
Pronunciation on point.
maybe you could after this series do some community made levels
i went to green first and attacked from the single gate and the rest was easier without losses
If there is a market you could have traded.
Does the video seem a bit blurry to anyone else?
love you new intro
22:00 thats what she said
Sure longbowmen gave you nightmares.. what about your opponents who experienced your micro? :p
Nice play man.
"i use to be a geek or i am a bit a geek"
really ? didn t realise
Since you are a huge Lord of the rings fan. Have you ever played the Tales of Middlearth Mod? Could be something for the upcoming 24h stream :-)
It hurts how Viper is constantly gold/wood-locked in the campaigns, yet he never sends trade-carts to allies :O
Andreas Eriksson Because there's no reason to. Viper won before trade would've paid for itself.
Zhewaxen strongly disagree. the game was very drawn out. a few carts would have paid of fairly quickly.
Andreas Eriksson
Maybe because he dont have time??
This episode can be summed up in one phrase #ohno
can you use monk to steal the saracen's remaining villager?
IIRC they have heresy so I can't steal it
13:30 this gold? You got 100 bucks.
Do you have a total of one (1) melee unit and get a long-awaited tribute of 500 food? Better sell that shit. Kappa
couldn't he make trade carts?
oh you're gonna have fun when you play lepanto
Yeah its kinda hard on first try, but after you learnt the scenario(especially the the enemy transport ship landings), its a piece of cake. Last time they couldn't land a single unit.
no hero to protect and viper can be op 11
👍
Can you tell me where you downloaded the game?
Strange using the Turks before gunpowder
I know Manzikert is a key date but would be better to have a battle that actually lets the player have gunpowder units… given it’s the whole point of the Turks 🤷♂️😂
the best aoe2 player in the world is a little bit of a geek? Noooo say it aint so...
Michael Cross Of course he is, we all are. Isn't this a strategy gane based on history?
This scenario was so poorly made and historically inaccurate. Where was Alp Arslan? Or Romanus Diogenes? They didn't even mention them lol.
The Best is you theviper

no trade no goldQQ
