For anyone wondering why the coreography is so well done, it is because the fights were rotoscoped with real life stuntmen and fighters. The action has a very beautiful combination of realism and intense fights as a result.
I don't care what people think of CGI, the CGI animation in Kengan was absolutely flawlessly executed.
It makes it really stand out, and it is the reason this is one of the greatest martial arts anime out there

This series is super slept on. I love everythin about it to the 3d animation, choreography, different combat styles pitted against each other, the realistic violence, etc. Its too good.

@@Narsheo Bad CGI is what Berserk did. This is one of the best usages of CGI in anime I have ever seen. It's not even like they did not have a budget for the anime, they picked CGI as a animation directive because it makes the fluid motion and fights easier to understand and follow.
That doctor is one of my favorite characters, he is a fucking miracle worker somehow stabilizing and making rehabilitation possible for a dude who had the bones in his neck turn to powder, somehow lobotomize the part of his body that responds to pain, implant swords in his arms and make it possible for him to be resuscitated from even completely dislocated and broken vertebrae in his own neck, what a badass

that english translation tho. The literal translation was "The movement is like the fight between Benkei and Ushiwakamaru". The folklore fight was that Ushiwakamaru learned sword skills from a Tengu and defeat Benkei at age 11. Benkei was the rogue warrior who has challenged and taken 999 weapons from other armed martial artists.
I swear, with the exception of just a few characters, everybody here looks like a villain. They almost ALL look evil in some way, shape, or form.
EDIT: I said "with the exception of just a few characters" and "almost all" for a reason. I know that characters like Cosmo, Kaneda, and Robinson look like heroes in their own right, but a majority of the fighters still look like villains to an extent.
That's what I like about this, this is the underground world of fights after all

Since no one's gonna say it I will. Kengan Asura has some of the best combat in anime and you know it.
I've seen a fair amount of clips of fighting in anime, anime that people consider some of the best in fighting or coolness, such as Hajime no Ippo, or Fist lf The North Star, and for me, this is the best, no contest.
In those anime, there's weird styles, character quirks, cliches, and weird shit I constantly gotta look past to enjoy.
This one though, the fighting styles are actually cool to watch because they aren't doing these weird ass dance-looking styles and are just straight up beating the shit out of each other, epic speeches and bragging is cut short, and the fights aren't predictable, at least not predictable enough for someone like me giving clips of the show a quick watch to figure out who's gonna win. The skinny guy will out-maneuver the big guy on one fight and another fight with the same size difference will have the big guy splatter the little one for instance.
Not saying the anime I mentioned are bad, but I really have a hard time getting immersed into the fights like I do with this.

Cosmo my fav so far, his battle with seishu was the best. I wasn't impressed with his character at first but then after that fight wow, he's awesome.

Kure clan is genetically monstrous as said in the show, selective clan generations were taught the release, which was made by a guy named Edward Wu, (kengan omega) but kure clan adopted it, different users have different ways which was revealed as raian xcan use 100% of it, the release like in the name, is just explained by removing the limits that your brain poses and using the full power of it, just like upgrading into a faster cpu and gpu or a gun with a suppressor, this ties in with the usage ability because raian can use 100% meaning he can pull of ALL the restrains of his brain, explaining why he's so powerful. and they higher advantage for this is raian can use this easily for prolonged whereas ohma cant, but it will damage ur brain if u use it too much but its not such a problem for a powerhouse like raian.

but ohma's red skin color or advance as the show calls it speeds up his rotational speed and his reactions plsu speed, while enabling his heart to pump 400 beats person 30 seconds lol, which is the real explanation for it, his heart built different, Ohma will improve that is for sure, as he is the tigers vessel. But this is very risky cuz he can die if he use it for even 20 minutes or 15 or in some cases 5 and he did die bcuz of it

The guy who's the second tokita, hes like yujiro hanma if u know baki, the man is mad and he has combined release and advance or idk dude made things like Divine advance or Falln demon if you watch the fei vs wakatsuki fights in kengan omega ull see fei is a studen of tokita niko, AND the dude looks scarier and hsi advance is way ahead of ohma but fei died cuz he use too much and then he meeted up ohma when he was dying in the field fighting against wakatsuki who was also down, and he said Ohma was the vessel implying he is going to reach higher heights because he couldn't fight as long in the demon state and he just internally combusted with blood. So yeah this ohma guy is op from the start, Kuroki Gensai is going to be warned BUT actually Raian imrpoved alot and they are both = unless tokita uses ADVANCE and he still uses he kinda rusty with it and he doesnt wanna use it cuz its bad for his health

To be honest, all of the fights are god tier. 1 fight per episode and you will never know who’s gonna actually win. Its unpredictable and really entertaining

As a longer fan of Baki time wise, I enjoyed Kengan Ashura a little more cause it felt more action packed each episode where Baki was more small fights with a lot in dept explanations, not that this show is any different. Both are great and similar animes, yet they both differ for their own respective reasons.
KA is a (little) more grounded I think
Gaolang is my favorite character and fighter of the series. He has si much potential ad a fighter and a character. Can't wait for season 3...

I know they use cgi but imo they do it better than baki does. It looks much more fluid to me while baki's cgi looks very rigid at times and uses too much slow mo imo
