It’s so good to see people who understand this movie and get that the insanity of the movie is intentional. They show you all of that to punch that ending home. Even though the mom can be anyone and do anything you can think of, she STILL chooses her daughter over all of that

I’m a grown man and I was sitting in the theater crying my eyes out

    Fun Fact:
Due to the onset of COVID, this movie was filmed in only 38 days. Pretty impressive!!

Actually rapped up on the next day COVID shut down the nation.

It wasn't because of COVID. That's how they planned the filming. Lockdown started on the last day of filming.

Great reaction! I saw this in the Theater and cried my eyes out. Normally this type of reaction to a movie would keep me from going back to watch again where everyone can see me get so emotional, but with this one I didn't give a shit, I went back and watched it 2 more time (3 total) and then bought it as soon as I could.
A couple fun facts you might appreciate:
    1) The budget for this movie was a tiny $25 Million but instead pulled it off for only $14 Million - Freaking Insane!! There are commercials that cost much more. They had so little $ that on many days they couldn't afford to feed the crew lunch. Therefore Jamie Lee would rent food trucks out of her own pocket. On 'Hot Dog Fingers' day, she rented a Hot Dog Truck LMAO.
    2) They filmed this movie in only 38 days due to the COVID lockdown that occurred. Also unbelievable but true.
    3) OFC it won every Oscar, but some ppl are pretty pissed Best Supporting Actress went to Jamie Lee instead of Stephanie Hsu (the daughter). The explanation is that the Academy was doing a 'make-up award' type situation since they've never given Jamie Lee an Oscar. I also agree it should have gone to Stephanie.
    4) Not sure if you realized it, but Ke Huay Quon (Waymond) was the actor who played Data and Shortround in Goonies and Indiana Jones respectively. He gave up acting for about 40 years due to a lack of roles for Asian actors in Hollywood. His Oscar acceptance speech is worth watching.
    5) The S&M guy who gets spanked is played by one of the Directors (Daniels), and the first guy to get sucked into the bagel is the other Director.. The 2 'butt plug' actors are actually the stunt coordinators in the movie.
Anyways, great reaction and thanks for reading if you've made it this far!!

Thank you for all the facts! We had no idea the budget was so small, it's incredible what they pulled off with such a little budget. We're glad you liked our reaction! This movie was spectacular. - Cam

Well done! BTW, IMO, the Hot Dog Universe inserts were to give emotions a pause, to let people digest the scenes.

This is one of the most entertaining, connected and astute reactions to this film I've seen.
I've been fascinated by film since the late '50s and this production was/is the culmination of the best of everything I've loved about movies 'all together, all at once...'

I know it isn't done this way but since I have your momentary attention I would like to suggest a couple of excellent films that I don't think will be on any patreon poll:
"Dead Man's Shoes" (2004) - don't even look it up, just start it.
"The Asphalt Jungle" (1950) - a seriously excellent crime caper.@@ChannelSee1

Oh, give a24’s Marcel the Shell a watch if you want another movie that hits you in the feels. It’s my second favorite movie of last year.
A24’s Aftersun is also worthwhile but it’s a very slow burn

IMO, the Hot Dog Universe inserts were to give emotions a pause, to let people digest the scenes. If they had not been as off-putting, the emotions would have bled between scenes...

TOP MOVIE: Mr. Nobody (2009 - IMDB 7.8) 2,35 Hours long in the Directors Cut.
    Wiki:
Mr. Nobody is a 2009 science fiction drama film written and directed by Jaco Van Dormael and starring Jared Leto, Sarah Polley, Diane Kruger, Linh Dan Pham, Rhys Ifans, Natasha Little, Toby Regbo, and Juno Temple. It tells the life story of Nemo Nobody, an 118-year-old man who is the last mortal on Earth after the human race has achieved quasi-immortality. Nemo, memory fading, tells a doctor and journalist about his three main loves and his parents' divorce and the subsequent hardships he endured. The speculative narrative frequently changes course to investigate the alternate life paths that could have resulted from his making different decisions in his life, focusing on when he is nine, fifteen, and thirty-four. The film has nonlinear narrative that incorporates the multiverse hypothesis....
