    back to my roots. as far as i know i have the fastest full TBI truck in north america at 13.34 @106 but took over 4 years to do.

    Excellent coverage, thank you. I've been watching videos on tuning OBD1. This video really made it all click, as to how it is done. I don't really need a Microsquirt system. I just need to tune a GM 3400 V6, in a 1994 Cavalier Z24 using the cars original OBD1 ECM. You explained the components and their functions extremely well. I understand it much better now. Thank you very much.

    Funny - I went the other way around by starting doing EPROM stuff about 25 years ago, now I'm slowly getting better at HPT! Still have my Promulator, UV Eraser, and discrete PROM burner (still uses the parallel port even!). Box of brand new 2732's on the ready. Have 2 people waiting for fresh chips right now!

      It's really crazy that the Promulator lets me make LIVE changes in the ECM (think twiddling the mixture screws on a carb while the engine is running) if you're using the RT version that you are. It would be killer if HPT ever let you do that! It almost felt like going backwards when I started using HPT from that aspect.

    Wow I haven’t heard the name Moates in years! I use to tune my DSM with the Ostrich 2.0 on the fly with tuner pro. The good old days when roll racing wasn’t a thing.

    Perfect timing for this video. Currently building a tbi 350 in a 93 c1500 w/ 4l60e e-trans. I noticed that Motes was out of stock so I was looking into the EBL Flash-II ecm. With that full replacement I can use my current ecm to control the transmission. The weather you're having sure sounds a lot like Georgia 😂 Hope everything is well and please keep the videos coming. Definitely subscribed for more of this particular series and others.

      Wait... so I should just get a standalone? I can't drop 3k on the full Sniper Terminator X Max for the added transmission control. 😔

      @@JaretChoquette An 0411 PCM will run a MPFI SBC and a 4l60e. The Express vans came with a 350 and the more modern pcm. Lots of wiring though for a stand alone harness. I would dump the tbi, way more efficient ways to fuel the engine now.

    Very helpful. I have a Sy with the Todd Austinson 10-1 chip. I bypassed the thumb wheel switch for selecting the tune and I'm not sure what I'm going to do to it besides get the package you got in the video and start tweeking shit

    I actually just started the tuning process on another old Audi using tuner pro. It's amazing how much easier Hptuners is! Even with the correct xdf all the tables are still listed as 5 or 6 "random" letters. Now I just have to figure out what the kdlmnp is... Lol

    Damn brother iv been watching your videos for a couple years and been bend watching for a couple weeks cuz I bought mvi2 with the 2creadits and the aem x wideband and serial USB port but I'm about to give up tryed everything to get the serial port working but always disappear when scanning iv watched your videos on it and went over ever forum and nothing. Hell just looking at this stuff when its working right is overwhelming enough

    Man too bad that I missed all that tech. Small / big block Chevy's with Q jets were great along with HEI distributors were great in their day but as much as they are ancient compared to todays offerings ,they still work and are simple enough to work on without a lot of expensive diagnosticsscanners .
    But when will it all end ? When hydrocarbons are banned I guess .
    But thank you for showing this tech .And the cyclone will pure like a kitten.

    Be careful. There are some mistakes in TunerPro, well not in the program but in some of the more popular XDF files. There is even a warning on the website about this. Its not like a paid program where people get paid to fix bugs. You can still get a good tune but there are some mistakes in the mid 90s GM logging files and the definitions. I sold all my EProm burning stuff. With the $350 Microsquirt Ecms, its not really worth it anymore, unless like the Typhoon they are sort of collector cars so cutting up the harness may not be desired. Anything else gets MPFI and Microsquirt when I have a say in what my customers purchase. I tell them they are miles ahead getting rid of all that eprom burning and TBI garbage, even though that's what I started out with. Its not just GM, I tell the 5.0 Mustang people the same thing.
