When you look at the proximity to hole stats from the PGA website; fairway vs rough...it's staggering...out of the rough is twice the distance from the hole at almost every yardage...who would want to hit the ball so hard that you're in the rough more than the fairway? The odds are then against you.

Just goes to show. Being able to whack at a ball to hit it miles isn't going to win you tournaments. I know Bryson has won, but I think his "beat the shit out of the ball" mentality currently is going to hurt him more than help him. Golf is about finesse and a strong mind. Yes, a long ball off the tee can help, but it is like only 30% of the game, if even that much. I'm being generous.

Definitely. I don't care if I don't drive it 350. Or even 280. I average 250 with my 2i off the tee. I am sure these guys can hit my club 280 300. Like Kyle Berkshire. But my approach game. Plus my putting. Minimum 2 per hole. And the lucky one here and there. Has helped taken 30 to 40 strokes off my game since i started. I remember hitting 130. Lol for weeks on end....til i smartened up and improved my short game. Plus playing 3 times a week, for 6 months straight sure beats any given Sunday.

These two gents don’t hate each other, they are competitors who voiced each other’s opinions and the media/social media just spun shit out of control.
If anything I think these gents talk to each other and respect one another, they probably came up with this “Publicised Beef Match” and quietly made millions in the process.
Viewers and Spectators are the winners, sponsors, media, pay tv are winners and the game of golf is a winner of all.
I mean think about it,if there was that much hatred, then I don’t think Bryson would have thought a minute about winding up Brooks by offering the crowd those “Brooksy Cakes”...it was all planned and in jest, even at the end,the serious face and curt comments,I honestly think the shit was all staged.
From my side, GREAT RESPECT to both gentlemen, they are extremely good at what they do and I love and appreciate their combined positive contributions they’ve had towards the beautiful game of golf.
