I’m so happy to see that these are the Amish that take care of their horses. In PA. The Amish don’t. Their horses are starving and dying of illness and infection.
It’s so sad, I come from Pa and we went to auctions and saved them, most of them were so skinny

Awesome. My Uncle and family lived in PA outside of Harrisburg and he was a great friend to the Amish there. Unfortunately he passed too young at only 58yrs suddenly. We really enjoyed the ponies and horses. He actually boarded quite a few retired thoroughbreds. He taught me such about horses and as a nurse he utilized my medical skills to care for them. It is so important in today's modern culture we remain grounded to the basic needs of necessity! I will soon be 61 and have medical issues but life's lesson are ongoing. God Bless. PS that ice cream looked yummy! So glad you all had a great time!

That was so much fun! Brought back girlhood memories of riding my bike to Messerschmidt's farm with carrots or apples in my pocket for his Belgian work horses who came to the fenceline to see me. I loved horses but had such an allergy which was so sad. I love watching the channel Joyful Life where Joy trains horses for a little job....she does so well! Xander is so good with animals that I see him doing something with them as he gets older. So nice to get a Xander smile fix today!

That was fun. My uncle ran the local stock auction in Atlanta back in the 50's. I can smell it. My grandpa had a dairy, I guess I just have happy memories associated with farming. Now I live on my son's sheep farm. Helping with the animals is going to be happy memories for my grandchildren. I love watching little peeks at life through your eyes.

Thank you so much for taking us along! 💐I have never seen so many well behaved, calm and totally relaxed ponies and horses. They all seem to be well trained and cared for. Even the small ponies carried their riders with pride and joy.

Auctions in general are so enjoyable! I loved seeing the ponies. And the music was spot on! My dad used to sing the auctioneer song to us.
I enjoined that a lot. Love that last song about being a auctioneer bidder. That takes some talent to talk that fast.

Thanks for taking us along for the sale!! Some beautiful, & well trained horses, & ponies!! My Aunt always kept some Welsh ponies to drive...& I groomed Saddlebreds in Kentucky, & took care of some harness horses, & Hackney ponies. I went with my farm school to the Shanandoa valley VA., & stayed with a Mennonite community...we cleaned up a hay field that a chicken house was blown into by a small tornado...I rode to Church with a Mennonite girl my age, in her buggy...very nice, & generous of heart...we were taken in, & fed well!! VERY GOOD PEOPLE...ALSO MET SOME TALENTED QUILTERS!! This was 1975...as you see...I have very fond memories of my visit...♡☆♡

I've never heard "Amish fiction" refered to like a genre. But that reminds me I read a book series by Tricia Goyer, the first one in the series is Beside Still Waters, you might like it if you haven't already read it! It's a Christian romance series. :)

I loved this video! When I was a kid in southern Illinois we use to have donkey ballgames. The batter stands and bats the ball then jumps on the donkey and try’s to run the bases. It was hilarious

@@theMennoniteMom When I first moved to Texas some teenagers told me they were competing in ribbon roping. They described them and I said, "this, I've got to see". I couldn't picture any California teens doing that. One of them would rope a steer and the other one had to run out on foot and pull the ribbon off the steer's tail and run it to the finish line. And it had been raining and there were big puddles of water they had to run through.

I "was" a horse girl. It's the only thing I regret not continuing with. If you truly are a "whatever" person, I don't think you truly stop. I rode English, hunter jumper, and dressage. I loved the hunter jumper. I would gladly take it up again. I love animals and would love to have a hobby farm. Unfortunately, my husband does not, which is probably all for the best, as we both have autoimmune diseases that can knock us off our feet, and that would not be good for the animals. So, I enjoy them vicariously through others. 😊

What is fun and delightful video! I am an avid horse lover to you and recently got to go riding again since a long time for Anisa’s birthday. And have fun when I hear John Schmidt’s voice singing he’s from our hometown and my sisters and I just sang with him last Saturday night at a local event :-)
Loved this video! I have driving ponies and they are so much fun.. Just had an Amish built cart shipped all the way across the states to me. Enjoyed seeing the kids on the obstacles. Even though your son didn't win a pony he had ice cream twice so not a bad day! ❤

What a fun day! Too bad the rain came, but seems like you still got a lot of outdoor time. So cute seeing the kids handling the horses. Hard to tell who was in charge a couple times...lol. That was a TWO soft serve ice cream day for Xander! They don't get much more special than that! Fun to see each horse has its own personality - the bold ones that jump, the skittish ones that go around, the scared ones that balk, the gentle ones that walk over the bar, the ones that obey but don't really want to do it... interesting!

Those Amish kids really enjoyed it and their ponies too bad more children don’t have that opportunity my kids and grandkids would love that so would I . I’ve always loved horses and have been fortunate to have owned them. We are going to be purchasing a couple next year. The pony auction was great, I’d love to go to one. We have always purchased horses from private sales, but maybe we should check out some auctions, I love your videos 😀

In all my years around horses, I've never seen such well behaved and performing ponies. Those kids did a great job
Had to watch the girl in blue numerous times with horse that trotted then delicately stepped over the jump, best one!! Oh my those tiny ponies. In PA we would take our kids to Land of Little Horses, a mini pony zoo. I'm not sure if they are still there but little horses are precious.

I’ve not been to a pony auction since I was little. Grew up in Sugarcreek ohio. My grandpa was Amish. And funny you say about the Amish kids being cute. across the street from me- 2 lots are cleared and houses are starting to be built. And the crew was Amish. And there were a couple little kiddos.

You made a comment about little Amish children being adorable and that you didn’t know what it was about them that made them that way. I can tell you exactly what it is. Coming from a world that is not amish I know that amish children are not exposed to things of the world that rob them of their innocence.
In other words, putting their heads in the sand. The world is how it is, hiding from it is ignorant.
I wouldn't say that. They were building a barn in central pa. Kids were smoking and driving tractors. Also if you love animals I saw horses trotting down the road in winter with frost on the sides from there breath.
@@douglasearl1042 My horses used to get frost on themselves from their breath Horses have no problem with that. When I was a kid, my cousins and I drove the farm tractor.

Ever have that happen? How about if you have no water for days? They don't have to worry about food shortages either. That's happening and more is coming for us Worldly know it alls. All the stores and restaurants in my area are owned by the Amish and Mennonites. They make a lot of homemade goods, not that imported, you don't know who pissed and shit on it, food, shipped in from all over. They don't get food poisonings. There's no recall on food for them. And you think you're not ignorant. Think about what you would do if another country attacked our electrical grid which, BTW is fragile already. Oh, and BTW, they pay taxes just like us. Taxes the Amish pay include federal and state income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, and public school taxes, even though most Amish send their children to privately run schools (which they also fund). When you don't have a clue, shut the Fk UP.

We are in the end times right now. The revelations in the Bible is happen right now.The United States the government is doing the depopulation right now also on its very own citizens... We a need to come TOGETHER here in the end times. When that planet x hits only one third of the planet's human will make it out alive. So let's all just come TOGETHER and try and survive this TOGETHER. The water on this planet is even drying up. The government has issued a warning about there being no water here pretty soon. And no food. With the food shortages comeing this fall we are all in trouble. God bless EVERYONE on this planet while it's still here.
