Wow. Just absolutely gut wrenching news when I first saw this. Iâm sure many can relate, but this show has been such an integral part of my life growing up that I canât say how much this hurts to see.
Thank you to Leigh for a decade plus of laughs. I canât imagine this decision was easy to come to, but life is short and I respect your passion and ambition so much. Every fan is wishing the best of luck to you on your literal and metaphorical journey.
From being the guy from Pakistan, to buying street ribs, hopefully the fans can unite and eventually bring a compilation of Leigh Ellis stories, since I canât wait to watch back every single one. Thank you to Leigh for all his work over the years, and I hope you know that the fourth seat will always be open for you.

Dude so gut wrenching, I've been listenin to these 4 for sooo long. Got me through so many long drives, HELL most of COVID, and just felt awesome to share their excitement and laughs regarding hoops. TBJ, Free Agents, The Starters, and no ND - glad we got to have some good times. I wish I got to see em live tho

I have to admit, I felt distraught seeing the title of this video ahead of time. As many other fans have said, you guys have been a part of my life for many years now. The impact you guys have had on me cannot be understated. Leigh, you will be missed. Everything from very solid plays, to Leigh-peeing, to proper concert etiquette, to SexLand. I didnât want this to be true, but knowing now that youâre gonna be a legend, traveling across the globe playing random pickup games, makes me feel that much better. Unbelievable how time really flies. Iâm a senior in college now, but I will always remember after having big knee surgery freshman year of high school, I couldnât eat lunch in the cafeteria and had to eat alone for months. I would watch the starters every day and you guys never failed to put a smile on my face even on my worst days. You guys will always be a huge part of my childhood. This is heartbreaking. This is my comfort show. The one I run to for stability because you guys have been doing your thing for 11 years and I jumped in during the second year of the starters. Of course I'm excited for Leigh and his awesome plan, but I'm gonna miss him. The amazing stories, the wild takes on seemingly innocuous things, and most importantly his standing up for human rights even during a basketball podcast. Everything will start to feel better at some point I'm sure, but it'll be tough to cope for a while without the man always taking it to the Maxx. Thanks for everything Leigh. Totally surreal to see this news! As a fan since the pre-Leigh TBJ at The Score days you brought a jolt of energy, playfulness, and whimsy to the show that can't be replaced. Thought this was a joke at first when I saw the thumbnail. It's hard to say goodbye. Have had way too many of them in my life with friends and family because of all the moving I've done. I know we're not really friends per se, but it feels that way sometimes since I've watched/listened to you guys for almost 15 years, and I know more about you than some of the people in my own life. Been watching Leigh since he first started on the show at The Score which honestly doesn't feel that long ago. We have Had many famous faces pop in to the resturant from Noel Gallagher to Helana Bonham Carter and a multitude of footballers including most of Man uniteds Class of '92 ..... When people ask me who is the best person you've met at work I always tell it's you....obviously they have no clue who you are but the fun part is explaining who you are and your many quirks that we have all come to love.... I'm sure your future is bright and if you are ever back in England I'm more than happy to dust off the ol'ankle braces and have a shoot around....

I had some dark, dark times these past few years, had a rough go of it where for a long while I didn't know if I wanted to see another sunrise or not. But you and the boys and larfs you bought were always together with me for the ride, when there was no one else. The larfs, the absolutely wild stories, the incredibly wild hot takes, the top 10s with 20 entries, being basketball sickos', list goes on and on. It took me a while to gather my thoughts and write this, but it'll never do justice to what you and the show has meant to me and a lot of people like me around the world.

I'm absolutely gutted! I saw the video show up and immediately thought "Aprils Fools in October" kinda like what Skeets said. You guys have been a part of my daily life ever since I caught a Starters video calling the Phoenix Suns the Phoenix "Guns" showing off their muscles. I thought it was hilarious! At the same time it's great seeing someone sharing the same love for the game and for the world as myself because I'm actually on a similar journey right now...
I play basketball in different countries around the globe and do short documentaries in each city, asking the people what basketball culture is like in their country and what the game means to them, etc. So far there are 14 episodes in 14 countries (Moldova, Romania, Portugal, Greece, Luxembourg, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, N. Macedonia, Bulgaria)

We're gonna miss you Leigh. I've listened to this podcast since my freshman year of college from THE BASKETBALL JONES, it's been yeeeeeears since that. So many 6+ hr long drives back and forth from home to campus, and elsewise you guys were my main source of entertainment and it always felt like a group of homies I was with.
