I'm looking at Inkscape as an alternative to my CorelDraw X7 which I'm told won't work on Win 11 machines when I upgrade my pc. Is that Object to path tool the equivalent of Corel "converting text to a curve? i.e. It makes it no longer editable as text?

Hi Richard, iv never used coraldraw so I’m not sure in the differences but the object to path tool makes the txt editable so you can use the edit nodes and also weld txt together things like that but once you have edited your txt and hit the union tab then the txt can no longer be edited hope this helps and thanks for watching,
      Cheers, Matt

Thanks for the reply, there are a few things I didn’t get ,the earth wire ,I only got 1 short exhaust hose,I didn’t get the focus tool but I watched your video on the ramp test so that will help and the manual is on a usb stick only pictures on how to connect air and water lines so it doesn’t help.keep the videos going there good help.and wouldn’t your shed be live if your laser spat the dummy?

Oh no not getting the exhaust pipe would be a big problem, my software was on a disk but I never used it I just downloaded RD works used that for about 2 weeks then swapped over to Lightburn,
I’m sure you could use any type of wire for the earth it’s not very thick a little thicker than speaker wire I’d say and yeh I’m not sure my power cord has the 3 prong plug also so I think that helps,
Hopefully you can get it up and running quickly but not very good with out the exhaust/extraction pipe,
The focus tag that came with mine was wrong anyways it was 15mm after doing a ramp test it was better at 11mm so I just made new tags! 👍🏽

@@woodendayz thanks for reply.I ordered hose of eBay should have Tuesday a lot of smoke without it ha ha,my laser has a 63.5 focal lens I did ramp test was best at start of line .looks like it’s best is 6mm gap ,my laser has a 3pin plug so not sure if it needs earth wire but will check ,I find Lightburn easy to use .do you still use the 3000 series chiller I was looking at the 5200 or I have seen on CZcams people using a portable ice maker👍

@Fred-nv9vg no i don’t use the 3000 chiller I only used it for about 2 weeks it wasn’t very good in the shed as it doesn’t actually chill the water it works like a car radiator water just passes through a copper line with a fan blowing on it and being in Queensland it’s get quite hot so I swapped it out for the water container and pump and keep frozen bottles of water on hand to put into the container been almost a year and it works really well for me.
The 5200 is actually a chiller so you can set a temp and have it stay at that temp so that would be a really thing to have, and yeh cutting or engraving with no extraction would be horrible lol fingers crossed it arrived quickly for you.
