Lunarfall Garrison - Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor

- Lunarfall is a plateau in northern Shadowmoon Valley, directly west of Gloomshade Grove. It is the site which eventually becomes an Alliance Alliance player's Garrison.
This area begins as a simple grove of trees, a pond and an abandoned mine which overlook the Tanaan Channel to the north. After the Alliance expedition (consisting of the player, Khadgar, Thrall, Maraad, etc.) have finished the Assault on the Dark Portal scenario, their stolen Iron Horde ship is beached on the northern shores of Shadowmoon Valley. They are promptly met by Velen, who knows of their plight and gifts the plateau of Lunarfall to the player to use as a beachhead for their expedition.
Velen chose this particular location as it commands the entrance of the valley.

While I understand the reason why so many folks disliked them, the fact that they feel so much like a home can't really be put into question. And I know we also had our Ranch in Pandaria, but it was very much a minimalist affair compared to the Garrison.
So, thank you very much, once again, for gracing us with this wonderful video of one of the lesser appreciated parts of the WoW legacy.
EDIT: Just realized your version had the Dwarven Bunker too, I now regret only being able to Like this video once....
Man time passes so quickly. Draenor dropped almost 10 years ago....I can´t believe it.
Damn I remember I left school for Draenor premiere only to wait in que till next day, like it was yesterday
@@Awirant I was in my last 2 years of school during this period. It was really hard because we all had much work to do for countless hours. Jumping back to Draenor for questing and doing Dungeons was my highlight of every day.
WoD honestly was my favourite expac, regarding its music, it felt so much unlike tracks we had heard in previous expacs, which perfectly followed the tone of this being a different timeline, and entirely alien
I think Legion was the best for the music. I have to add that Boralus music was really something, in BfA. Also, Cataclism was not so great, but it contains a few exceptional tracks nonetheless (like the new Tanaris song). Wrath of the Lich King was EXCELLENT. Right above WoD but below Legion in terms of beauty, but above anything else in term of quantity of beautiful songs. Garisson music in WoD is exceptional. Talador music too. In pandaria, Mistweaver and Windwalker music are 2 incredible pieces of music. Awesome. The woodwinds sections in those 2 tracks are spectacular.
Imagine watching this live in a theater, just the thought gives me goosebumps

wod is the one time i truly regret not playing alliance. shadowmoon and the garrison there are just still one of my favourite places to visit in wow. one of the best zones overall imo
Alliance garrison was so cool compared to Horde one. Just sitting here and listening was already relaxing. But the shadowmoon valley environment completed it to something of highest level. Loved this part of Draenor.
I feel that it depends whether you are more of a 'winter person' or not. I certainly enjoyed both of them a lot.

This ambience sound was so pervasive… that high ethereal sound was almost constant haha. This zone is so good nonetheless, I really think parts of WoD had incredible world building and production values including score
Say what you will about WoD, the music was top notch. Then again, all WoW music is perfectly done.
As a Horde main I played my Alliance alt for the sole purpose of fully leveling Lunarfall and its shipyard. Such a breathtaking place to have been able to call home.
I did the same but with Horde. I was so broke and once I was making 1000g I was going rapidly to buy some construction plans :)
And then wait to make another 500g so I can actually construct the building :D
I think garrisions had their place and while it lasted, it was fine. At least almost all of the stuff wasnt necessary to do (besides maybe missions for Raid loot and farming for the three reroll seals). So you just could idle around, do some stuff, listen to music and have fun. Or ignore it for the most part. It was like Class halls with benefits but without fellow players ;-)
Still dont know why people hate on WoD soo much. It had 8 very good, lore fitting dungeons, 3 excellent raids, stunning visuals, A+ music score, introduced Mythic difficulty on dungeons (which M+ was later build upon), refined challenging mode and item downscaling (which Time Travel was later build upon), was literally the last expansion with a good looting system, and, last but not least, close to now mandatory farming stuff. It did not even have a single necessary rep grind until 9.2 (for flying) which wasnt that hard. No Azerite, no AP, no Souls stuff, no nothing. You could not play a week? Who cares? You want to switch to an alt? Yeah, just reroll and take the loot. It kinda was the last time in WoW, i only logged into the game for fun and cause i wanted to play with guildmates. Since then, i felt like i had to put in 6-7 hours a week with every character just to keep up in Power level.
I had the most alts in WoD I think. Yes, there wasn't a lot to do if you were raiding, but for the casual player it was enough.
i always loved this zone and music. Especially waking up in morning and traveling to stormshield to do ashran. Draenor made me fall in love with questing.
The lunarfall garrison is one of my happy places so thank you for this beautiful video ❤️

all things aside, this Garrison music was more gratifying to listen to than i had expected. definitely resides within my brain's nostalgia area.

I leveled up my alliance toon just to listen to Lunarfall music back during WoD. Beautiful area. Love Shadowmoon too.
You can say what you like about WoD, but after Cata and MoP it made me rediscover my love for the game. Incredible raids, beautiful zones and most of all: unbeatable soundtracks. I feel lucky that I played it all the way through.

Thank you for another good video and the good memories that are coming back with it!! I play WOW these days and again found out that all my friends are gone some of them forever and you cannot play with the "newer" players ...no offense to them but they dont have the spirit what has made this game great over the years. I guess I will finally stop playing...was a long way from the beta to Dragonflight...but all alone its just memories. Good memories kept alive in videos like these. Thank you Meisio!
What were your favorite buildings in your Garrison?
I would say it's probably the town hall or the tavern. I also spent much time near the fishing shack :)

Yea, it's one big interior :) They developed quite a lot the concept, but they forgot to do something in future expansions :)
