Disease Vectors: Biological vs. Mechanical

Thank you for a great lecture. There are 3 different types of biological vectors. 1) Propagative vector: Disease agent increase in vector like flavivirus virus (West Nile virus) 2) Cyclodevelopmental vector: agent changes from one stage to another like filariasis 3) Cyclopropagative vector: agent changes life stage and multiply like malaria.

In my book it is mentioned that in the biological transmission the vector is considered as intermediate host and mode of transmission

Because the vector itself is also infected, it acts as an intermediate host.
