Wesley Martin get a fly swatter put a coil on hv output with a spark gap on one end. (those sprarks couse pulses)
and maybe add a voltage multiplyer with just a couple of diodes and capacitord
Wesley Martin Connect a battery to voltage step up/ high voltage transformer and a temporary switch which also has a spar gap. Then connect a high voltage capacitor and a solanoid coil to the whole thing and when you press the button it will generate a electro magnetic field which depending on the voltage of the capicator, transformer and battries could disrupt/ destroy electronics. All components can be bought from hadware stores/ amazon for under $10

emp is illegal if you use it on other ppls stuff (obviously), but otherwise i think its safe
as for making one its very simpple: link in series a battery into a capacitor into a spark gap into a coil back into the battery, and you get an emp machinegun. if you wanna toggle it add a switch anywhere in the circuit.

you should turn down the sensitive as much as possible when you pick up signal , then walk around with that new sensitive till you get to the place where the signal is stronger(it should be not hard to tell since the low sensitive makes any signal growth pop), at that point, turn down the sensitive again and repeat.

Idea: if you place the bugs/hidden cameras and mics near Inconspicuous objects like a router, TV, etc. It will be almost impossible for the guy to find it because it will be masked by the presence of the other items.
Couldn't you just turn those devices off?
@@rob6952 you'd need to unplug some of them as well and wait for power to dissipate, I believe. Even then some things like the transformer coils may still make enough electromagnetic interference. I'd love to see it tested.

try a battery-operated sound recorder in a metal box hidden behind a drywall. those things record for weeks on end and does not produce any significant RF. Add a ethernet over power line adaptor anywhere in the house and you aren't going to find it.

Setting up a bug nowadays is easy peasy. You could just buy a burner, an outlet, and a sensitive microphone for just a couple of bucks, and set up a permanent installment of a remote access bug. No need to change batteries or anything that would require you to later retrieve the bug... remove the speaker, and plug it into the outlet, and install the outlet inside the wall wired to an already existing outlet. If you bundle the whole thing together, with tape, rubber bands, glue, or whatever, installation could be as easy as unscrewing an outlet faceplate.
Remotely add minutes to the phone via prepaid cards, set up the phone to auto pick up calls, and you can basically call the bug whenever you want. If there's wifi, the possibilities are endless.

Putting the first one in a smoke detector is brilliant. With a little bit of electrical know-how, you could wire it in line with the 9 volt power source alerady in the smoke detector. And the whole thing is tiny, it would most certainly fit. That is diabolical!
