7:56 Japanese elders are so calm when they speak. Two years ago I went on a trip to the countryside of Japan and I was surprised by the kindness of these people. They were really happy to see a foreigner enjoying their culture.
Wow, i really want going to japan, that is my dream
Hi, I'm from Murakami and used to live there till I was 19. I have never seen someone filmed Murakami in your style and it looks good as! I am very impresses. Thanks a lot for doing that! I loved this video so much.
I have anxiety disorder & depression. I found watching your travelling vlog brings me peace and clam. I don't like other alike CZcams videos because those people who made it talked too much ... Love your work & hope one day I can go to see Japan myslef as well :)
It is like nowhere else on earth, amazing, beautiful, calm. I hope you can get out some day!
Get out & travel I suggest, if your not comfortable travelling alone take along a good friend or family member. Fresh air helps with anxiety and depression and seeing new things.
Yes, same
I really hope you get out of this. God Bless 🙌
I’m really happy that you enjoy to living in Japan. I’m Japanese and living in Canada, but I felt like I really missed Japan after I saw this video! Thanks
The music made this feel somewhat lonely. Not in a bad way, akin to the feeling you might get in a small boat on the water as the sun rises with only yourself and the surroundings.
I enjoyed it.
thanks for your words, nothing to add!
PS: i recommend you ludovico einaudi. (oltremare is one of my favourites :) )
I think the music is very appropriate for the season (and video).....
Cold, white, quiet, patience....
i've been to Japan twice.... Osaka in Autumn..... Hokkaido in Summer.....
really want to go there again...... hopefully in Winter.....
Honestly I thought the soundtrack was fitting but did make it feel extremely lonely.
@The Wanderings of a Wayward Wayfarer It's also a matter of perspective. Loneliness is the fear of being alone while solitude is the joy of being alone. Oftentimes we do not get to do decide whether we are alone or not, so might as well find the joy in your situation.
Snowy Japan looks beautiful.
Looks amazing
imagine travelling solo female in india..or pakistan lol
It is!
For me, who lives in snowy county, it's not.
Japan has like 3 of the most coldest places on Earth.
Love this one, Hannah! I like how you depicted what traveling alone can really be like by not adding any talking. Sometimes, it's great to have that quiet time to yourself to truly enjoy the world around you. My 22 year old daughter was supposed to be in Japan this week. It would have been her first trip there and she was going by herself. She ended up canceling since so many places she was going to visit were closed. Watching your video is kind of bittersweet this week.
I love your regular interactive videos when you "talk" to the audience, but this video was so beautiful! Keep up the great content.
The sequence starting at 3:27 actually sent shivers through me. Truly beautiful shots.
I love small town Japan, I also found everyone to be genuinely friendly on my solo travels.
Japan countryside looks so beautiful. I love how peaceful and quiet it is compared to major cities. Hope i could visit if having a chance.
I've been watching you for years now, and this has to be one of my favourite videos of yours - I always feel so inspired to keep up my filmmaking and travel (now solo travel!) after watching a video! Keep on doing what you're doing, lots of love from Aus :)
This video was so beautifully peaceful. The edit was so calming and this was the perfect scenery for no talking. It was so beautiful.
This was so calming, and beautifully edited; you did exactly what you set out to achieve by showing us without saying a word and it was really powerful and well done.
So amazing as always Hannah.
Love everything about this video. If there were “travel ASMR,” this would be it. Thanks for sharing!
it feels so peaceful, it is more than vlog, it is art.
Thank you so much for sharing this! Makes me want to go back instantly. I love that kind of melancholic touch you’ve put into this video
Alright, breathtaking drone shots. I love how much you've honed your filming and editing skills and every video has me inspired to strengthen mine.
I always save your videos for when I need a calming break from studying or life in general and I make sure that I get to experience them as uninterrupted as possible. Thank you for these breath-of-fresh-air videos!
(You've also inspired me to make similar videos showing Estonia's nature, activities and accommodation but my first one is yet to be edited. Thank you for that aswell!)
This was so beautiful! I was just recently in Japan and it transported me back and filled me with such joy. I felt the same about the kindness and welcoming nature of the Japanese locals. Though I travelled with friends I spent lots of time exploring on my own and always felt safe. Thank you for your wonderful video! :)
I KEEP DREAMING ABOUT DOING THE SAME THING, LOVE JAPANESE CULTURE AND THE PEOPLE.
Oh, wow! This touched me. I loved how you played with the silence and the emotions in this video. Good job.
As always beautifully edited. Scenery is stunning. Great to see things as they are in the colder months.
This was so relaxing. Can’t wait to solo travel some more.
What an incredible video. So many highlights for me: 1st music track was fire, cinematics were off the chart, loved the locked off shots, showing the speed of the train while facing you, the sense of wanderlust, your edits with the piano in sync.... man i can keep going on but you got a new fan!
This is the most beautiful video I have seen in ages, wow, thank you Hannah, your sponsors should be impressed
I love this so much! A much-needed escape from the global news. Lovely music choices and imagery. Thanks for the 10 min escape! Wonderful job Hannah!
Thanks so much! It was really therapeutic for me to edit even so I'm glad it's had a similar effect for people watching :)
This is truly one of the most beautiful video I've seen on CZcams. The scenery is breathtaking. It's kinda like telling me a story without any word.
かつてイスラマバードが横浜から北陸北海道を旅行した時から今でも日本では女性一人旅は安全なものです。
そして今ももてなしの心で皆様をお迎えします。
Perfect, best one yet. The downside is the fresh ache of reverse-homesickness.
your from Japan? What is bini-bon?
I’ve been watching your videos for years now. And is one of the reasons why i felt so comfortable traveling to Japan earlier this year. Watching through this video brought back so many memories, I just want to go back already
That's really lovely to hear! Thanks Joel.
Masterpiece, i almost started crying while watching how softly u made this video. You're making it on your own beautiful way, thank you.
lol, your comment about Kraig Adams: I was thinking how this felt so similar to his hiking videos while watching. Seems I was on the mark. I actually only discovered his channel recently. Quite pleasant! Thanks for this. I've been dying to visit Japan for ages, and this video has reassured me that this longing is indeed right.
That was awesome, I love the countryside of Niigata. My wife is from a small village in Niigata also and your so right. I had random people being so kind to me and so haven't met a Aussie before. Your editing was really good. Happy creating Hannah🐨🌸🎨
I love this style of vlogging. If I ever started a YT channel for my traveling it would be VLOGs like this. They are so peaceful to watch and listen to.
Happy to have inspired you!
Kasandra Campbell only in Japan ☺️
I just love the calmness from this clip, so peaceful.
Beautiful. Had a tear in my eye. Something about japan that just touches your soul.
I can really relate to that! Her other video about Aizu had me in tears. I have never been to Japan nor am I in any way related to this country but it makes my heart ache in a weird way every time I see her gorgeous videos.
you’re incredibly talented! And after seeing this video it re-sparked my hope to once visit Japan in the future! :)
wow.. this made me so nostalgic and miss my family back in rural japan
日本って本当に安全でいいね!
Love it that Japan is so safe!
Nice editing....the music sets the mood. The snow was frosting. Brought back nostalgia of winters past. Nice work. Inspiring really. I wish you continued peace on your fantastic journey!
Loved this Hannah, made me feel like I was there,... especially when you walked into the shed with the hanging fish.... I would have loved this,... I can even smell it myself.... I would have been in heaven! Great job. Keep it up for us Aussies! :)
Came back a week and a half ago from Japan and this is seriously giving me achey feelings.
First ever travel blog that I saw without any talking. Honestly it feels therapeutic - especially all the snow and the soft piano music.
Right in the feels! Impeccable work Hannah. Easily one of the top youtubers out there with amazing editing skills!
This put me in such a good calm mood.
I wish to travel Japan at least once in my lifetime , the vlog was breathtaking .
That was truly gorgeous, fascinating, and relaxing all at once. Thank you for making this.
I love how you edited this one so much!! I've been watching your channel since you started and I am so impressed by how talented you've gotten!! Great job, and the sound editing was really awesome too! Keep up the great content!!
I have been struggling with insomnia for the better part of my last three hours. It has been hard on me and my family, and it has really taken a toll on my hopes and dreams for my future as well. Then, I came across this amazing video. It’s like ASMR for my REM waves. I fall asleep so fast. Top kek.
AHHH SO COOOOOOOOOL! My fav bit was the the walking behind drone shot, with the audio from ur camera overlaid to the drones footage, "CRONCH CRONCH CRONCH" footsteps
Awww yee. I loved that sound effect too. I'm gonna break the illusion slightly and let you know that it was actually just a sound effect I got online cuz my drone doesn't record audio unfortunately. I love the sound of walking on snow though :P
@@CurrentlyHannah oh I knew it wasn't the drone recording that, as I also fly drones ;) I thought U had your own camera in hand recording live effects. Great mix! Second fav shot was the distant blurred bird flying over the building
Hannah, I would say that this video was a complete success. I love how there was no dialogue for the most part. I love just listening to the natural surroundings and the ambient sounds. It was pretty moving for me...and I cant wait to travel to Japan for the first time...once the travel ban has been lifted from the States. Well, done.
Beautifully edited!!! Love the work you're doing, I feel like you're really changing things up this past few months and I like the way you're going. Looking forward to more!
I really loved this video! The elements were pieced together beautifully, in a way that told a story for me. Interestingly enough, through some parts in the beginning I was anxious! Thinking about how much hard work you put into this video and the times you were filming spurred my overthinking nature, but it was a great experience! By the end of the video I feel so enriched because it’s been my dream to learn Japanese and go there someday for going on three years now. This inspired me so much more to make that trip a reality- on top of the fact that I have a friend that would love to come with me. Of course, I’m not even out of high school yet, so it’s a dream that’s still in the works, but I think this is really what I want to do. Ever since I was a child, I pondered careers, cultures, languages, things of the past, and things of the future! The first job I ever dreamed of having as an eight year old child was to be an Archaeologist. From then on that path kept evolving and changing with numerous interests that I delved into, and with imminent adulthood on the horizon, the pressure to settle on a plan for my life keeps increasing. However, the second thing I ever wanted to be was a translator, because I wanted every person I spoke to to have a voice. This was coming from a child in and out of homes with different family members and foster care- when I felt that even though we all spoke the same language, I was never really heard. Growing up, I’ve learned to understand how tricky people can be, and that we don’t always have respectful and accepting qualities. When I was first introduced to Anime, I was greatly overwhelmed that there was an entire world of entertainment, language, slang, culture, and mannerisms I wasn’t privy to, and I was completely absorbed. I quickly learned small things that I realized even my friends didn’t know, and noticed that Japanese made sense to me when I started the basics on Duolingo- much more than Spanish ever will. Since then, the more I’ve learned about Japan and the people there, their culture, and behavior, I’ve desperately wanted to go. The idea that much of the foundation of their society is built on honor and respect is astounding to me, and resonates deeply within myself. People are peculiar and difficult no matter where you go, but it would truly be a dream come true to go somewhere that in general, makes me feel a sense of belonging that I don’t feel quite the same for my home country. While this video may have just been a lovely, sponsored trip to anyone else who has watched, and even the creator, this has inspired me to seriously consider aiming towards living in Japan realistically. Thank you for putting your creative content out there, because it may be an unconventional last straw, but it was one nonetheless. So, I thank you so much, as this was what I needed to try and follow my dream, which I was surprised myself, that I even had.
Yes, its very inspirational. :)
Excellent video and a testament to your skills being able to tell the story without talking... and just as I type that we get to the part you mention making the video without talking lol, serves me right for being quick off the draw.
Well done on the video, the broll along with the selection of music is top notch and compliments the main story really well.
Thank you for sharing this piece and I really hope you enjoyed making this as much as we all enjoyed experiencing it.
I really really did enjoy making this one so I'm glad people liked it! I'll try it more in the future.
she also showed us a lot of great ways on how you can take pics and videos of yourself if you're traveling solo
Your craft just keeps getting better and better! This was very well done, so relaxed and peaceful, and it all looked absolutely gorgeous.
BGMの無いシーンでの雪の音、そしてその後のBGMのあるシーン。この流れが素晴らしいと思います。
Such moody radiance. Symbolic of an inner landscape? Gorgeous. I vote for more of these.
Thanks Lynda. I had a lot of fun making it so maybe I will try this style more :)
Y'know, there's a special place in my heart for these types of videos, it just soothes the soul...
Loved this video, would love to see more of the people having conversations with you. This was awesome!!
Within 11 brief minutes, this video was able to transport me away from the melancholy of the current pandemic - and rekindle a special, unique feeling that can only come from solo adventuring. A rare feat.
Thank you for that.
Very beautiful video, Hannah. You’ve been cranking out this vids lately and that’s inspiring to me. Also, love watching the transition happen in the reflection at 1:21. Noice!
Haha yeah there's been a lot of travel going on in the past few months!
I feel calm. It's like I had a rest and I woke up. Thank you for this chill video that give so incredible calm vibes.
Everything about this vlog is just lovely. If you decide to do more like this, I'm definitely here for it.
Japan is one of my top countries to visit one day 😀
I hope you'll get the chance one day.
I’m Japanese student and I’m happy to read your comment:)
Mine too
コロナが一段落したら是非来てね!
Just go there...but you may have to wait for the ending of travel restrictions
その場の音をとても大事にされているのが伝わります
Have enjoyed every second of it! So calming and relaxing! Good choice of the background music too!
Great video. I solo travelled Japan in January and had the most amazing time. This video brought back a lot of nice memories.
Nice visuals and some really nice sound design. love it, so calming.
Thanks so much! With it being a silent video, I knew that the sound design had to be good haha.
I lived in Murakami for 3 years. It's such a lovely seaside town, and I miss it dearly. You can actually see my old apartment building when you got off the train briefly in Sakamachi at 2:24 (it's the big white one back there!) There's also a really great jazz lounge called Gakuya in your shot at 6:23 (right side 2nd story), and of course, the incredible senami-onsen at the end there.
Thanks for this little trip down memory lane in my home away from home!
This was such an atmospheric video with a somewhat nostalgic feeling to it. Would be great to see this area in the spring or summer!
Wonderful filming skills, good job!
This was like watching a short film, great job with this it was very relaxing to watch.
I really enjoy your videos, please keep that amazing work. Cheers from Chile
Thank you Hannah for showing how beautiful Japanese countryside is, one day i’ll be there hopefully🙌
One of your best videos!!! I loved that you only had the sound of what was going on around you from the crunching of the snow to the the background conversations and train conductor. Really gave the feel of someone travelling "solo" and and the safety of a female traveling alone in Japan. I hope my daughter will do this around Japan on her own once she graduates Post Secondary.
Hi Hannah, I liked this format. Loved the music, it really put me in a great mood and matched nicely with the different scenes. While I missed your voice, this was a nice change. Great job
this is what i want to do on my next trip to japan . i want to travel to the country side .. been to japan twice but i only travel around the major cities . Yokohama , Tokyo , Kyoto and Osaka .. i dont know why but i always get so nervous to step out of the cities . i think its my lack of japanese that keeps me from doing that
It can be a little nerve racking to leave the big cities but if you've got wifi, you'll be totally fine getting around and google translate can always be your friend if you need it :P Everyone is so kind so you'll be fine!
I agree with everything Hannah said, I was like you and was afraid to travel outside the major cities. When I went to the countryside on my last trip though, I loved every second of it and regretted not going sooner.
I been traveling solo (female) for years to Japan and been to plenty country side town. Go to aoshima miyazaki for sunrise, Kochi , manzu, hita, Hawaii and many others to enjoy the best of Japan
I also live in Japan and I HIGHLY recommend you check out the countryside! I think it is so much more authentic. Pro tip, you can download the Japanese "pack" on Google Translate app and you can even use it to translate offline! I hope this helps and enjoy your visit :) I made a video about the small town of Takayama if you're interested in more of the central Japanese countryside!
@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist Where at do you live in Japan? Are you an English teacher ? I been to many corner of Japan and been to a few of those big festivals over the years. I could not find another place on earth more attractive than Japan. I also go onsen everyday and Kyushu has specially good ones. Aoshima at miyazaki surprisingly had an excellent onsen. Love to talk to people about Japan.
Gorgeous imagery...one of my favorites!
Thanks Joseph!
Thanks for sharing. Being in quarantine for many weeks now, this was a great reminder of my great trips in Japan. Keep traveling and sharing. Thanks
this is so amazing and cinematic. i was enjoying as much as taking notes of the techniques you used for the shots.
ハンナさんだったのですね! 春への足音が近い残冬の村上を素晴らしい感覚で映してくれてありがとうございます。駅での日本酒試飲お気に入り見つかりましたか?
It made me very homesick for Japan.
Thank you for the 11 mins of pure relaxation, it's great to watch others travel the world and take amazing footage.
I say this because many people including myself, are bound by their willingness to commit in order to achieve this kind of lifestyle (to travel and have skills / friends who can to film at a professional level).
Therefore, thanks again Hannah and Co.
This has been my favourite of your videos Hannah. I love when you speak anyway as I think your humour is so relatable but the cinematography on this was another level. I have to say you have such a good eye! I see this on your Instagram too. Keep up the awesome work! Straight fire 🔥 👏🏽
新潟をここまでお洒落に紹介してくれてありがとう!世界が落ち着いたら、また来てね!(´ω`*)
一緒に頑張ろう!
Shiro しかも村上!笹川流れまで!嬉しいよね😃
Shiro 多分住んでると思う、旅行じゃなくて
Randomly clicked on this in my feed thinking " oh yeah, yet another entitled YT influencer travelling the world on my clicks". And 5 mins in I was hooked. Hannah you've got some terrific editing skills right there, and an eye for the mesmerising amongst the mundane. Allowing the images to speak for themselves was the right touch. Thanks for giving me 11 mins of pure bliss away from the humdrum of my daily. And If my click (and subsequent sub) helps you continue doing what you're doing? I'm way beyond cool with that. Stay safe, and take care from Belfast :)
Check out Kraig Adams, his TMB and Iceland video.
I was looking for a video like this. Thank you for giving me such a fantastic inspiration.
Really enjoyed the mood of the editing and music - and clever use & exclusion of audio and slo-mo. Nicely done Hannah.
You just keep surprising me, Hannah.
The music, the scenery, the overall calmness in this video. I’m in awe (again).
Have you ever visited a Bonsai Museum btw? I’m into Bonsai so wanted to know if you’ve ever been to one of the Bonsai-masters such as Kimura, Kobayashi,...
The cinematography is superb. Smart camera angles, smooth filters, the sublime editing techniques, the pro use of drone, I'm so inspired. Nicely done!
This was such a beautiful video, I felt like I was there almost. Thank you for making this 🧡
Love your editing on this one!
Great vid. The back half with the piano really reminded me of the movie Amelie.
I can't believe I still haven't seen Amelie. Everything about it looks exactly like a movie I would enjoy haha.
amazing video ! The beauty of solo travel to a remote place in Japan at that time was in full display, it was heart warming! great matching choice of music too. Great work!
I love this kind of vlog! So pure
Japan will always have a special place in my heart.
This is so beautiful! It makes me cry even more that I had to cancel my trip to Japan :(
Wonderfully produced video. Thank you Hannah.
I’m from Sydney and a trip to Japan is at the top of my family’s list when the world opens again for travel.
Thanks to this video Murakami will be a destination we will be adding to our itinerary. Winter looks to be a beautiful and serene season to travel there.
More content like this please. It’s so wonderfully and beautifully produced. It’s evident that a lot of effort and visual artistry has gone into it.
Thank you
Love This So Much! The video puts me in a state of calm and makes me want to visit Japan, that much more. Cheers, Hannah.
Loved this. I was supposed to travel to Japan on my own in April this year. Sadly had to cancel due to Covid. Will definitely be rebooking
