    A good analogy I've found is skating bowls like you play Mario Kart. In Mario Kart you got the arrows on the ground that give you a speed boost. You can also drift the turns to get a speed boost. So the fastest lines go between drifting and hitting the speed boosts. Skating bowls is the same. Pumping the pockets and hitting hips and waterfalls are the speed boosts in a bowl. Connecting lines between them all to maintain speed is how you skate bowls.

    Masterclass q&a would be dope. Great video got some things to think about next time I hit a bowl. I actually never thought about roll in angle but that makes sense sometimes I'll hit a translation straight and almost land on flat. And as far as one on one tricks bs smiths always mess me up I went 4 years without doing them much less skating but not I feel like I have to pop an ollie out of them which is fun but I gotta try to push it out like ya safe. Great video keep killing it man.

    I just discovered your channel, Zack. As a mid thirties skater I highly appreciate your videos and how you angle your topics. I was wondering if you could do a video about tail stalls. I can rock to fakie and do some other more advanced tricks, but I cannot for the love of god bring myself to stay on the coping with my tail locked in place after coming up fakie. My error is so deeply melted in to my skating habits now and it's driving me insane! Much love from Norway :D

    • @ZackDowdy
      @ZackDowdy  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you for the support! Tail stalls can be hard, I think aiming & speed are the crucial parts. Having enough speed to get yourself back up on top of the board like dropping in, but not going into fakie rock.

    • @David-jj9qo
      @David-jj9qo Před 2 lety +1

      Maybe try tail stalls in the middle of the transition first. This helped me to get the body movement / weight shifting.

    • @incredibing
      @incredibing Před 2 lety +1

      @@David-jj9qo Thanks, David! I have tailtapped a million times under coping. I think I am just scared of the coping and kind of freak out when I see my tail approaching so I suddenly don't see the coping where the tail is overlapping it, and don't know if the wheels will hit the coping (!?). It's kind of ridiculous at this point. I cam capable of tail tapping perfectly over the coping but I would like to be able to stand on the back foot completely and like, tie my shoe lace :)

I´ve been wanting to learn FS slash grinds for a while, can FS carve and do FS kick turns, but I can´t overcome the fear to actually go for the coping. Any help? :)

    • @ZackDowdy
      @ZackDowdy  Před 2 lety

      Working on a Five-O video! But I think its key to just keep kick-turning and watch where your wheels are, also you can put tape on the transition to sorta use as a "fake" coping marker.
