- Today, I am going to teach you how to convert a Universal motor to a self excited generator.
A Self excited generator is a device that does not required any external power source to achieve field excitation. It automatically achieves the power generation stage at a very specific RPM because of the presence of residual magnetism in the field poles.
Note that every Universal motor cannot achieve the self excitation stage. Today I am going to try the generation mode on Blender Motor, Angle grinder and Vacuum cleaner motor.

The battery feeds the engine, a diode must be placed or the engine should be modified based on power generation only

it is possible that you connected the field windings the wrong way resulting in the same pole on both sides of the motor
Maybe just stick a magnet to the outside of case?
Field core magnetic circuit is fully closed so it won't matter unless you cut the core from 2 sides.
is there a way to decide which universal motor has or can be as self excitation motor and which one is not, directly with out need to test it?

What if you were to connect the output cables (the ones you've connected to the lightbulb) and loop them back through a capacitor to the cables you've plugged to a battery and parallel out of that?
