The Ranger Raptor was worth the wait but it faces stiff competition from the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, which has a far superior approach angle and a much smaller price tag. The only way to solve this is to get both trucks in the dirt at the same time. Which tests would you like to see us put them through? Let us know in the comments below!
Love Emmes enthusiasm. Look forward to seeing more of her reviews of these trucks. (Class of trucks) !
I love Emme's solid understanding of mechanical things. She's the real deal. But she doesn't have to try to act cool and hip. That stuff comes off a tad forced.
That has always been her personality for years and that's also why she's one of my favorite reviewers
She's not acting. That's her.
its a great day to be alive because of you !!!! well ok i guess thanks
The lockers being part of the infotainment screen is a horrible decision by Ford. Hopefully the aftermarket can figure out how to rework that and put them in the auxiliary switches. That would be much better.
I agree, they should be separate switches like the Bronco, or F150.
It’s technology for technology’s sake and is really more a problem than a solution.
3:32 Why on earth did Ford put those auxiliary switches above the rear-view mirror? Do they not understand how difficult this makes running wires to them?
Edit: okay, today I learned! The wiring connections are made under the hood, not at the overhead console. Brilliant work, Ford!
You don't actually wire to the switches. You make the connection under the hood.
@@fragoRoc6 ohhhh! Brilliant!
The only downside I see are the BFG tires. I owned a set of original KO's and hated them. Over 10yrs later was suckered into getting the KO2's on my FjCruiser and they were even worse, they slid all over on any terrain and my wife refused to drive them in the rain. I sacrificed them after 30k and got Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3's and have been so happy with them.
Hoping the suspension is same as Bronco Raptor so I can add the swaybar disconnect to one of those six aux switches. Keeping that function out of the drive mode computer is a good thing. Hopefully…it’s straight bolt on. I know it is from Bronco to Bronco when you get a lower trim level and want to add it yourself. I believe it will also bolt onto a ranger raptor.
I need to look into that.i need it.
I live for Emmy’s reviews😊😊😊
2:38 It's weird that the front/rear locker switch is stuck in a screen. I mean, you have to switch back to that screen to turn the lockers on and off - which means you can't use AA/CP at the same time. Sure, you're presumably not moving rapidly at the time (unless truly Baja racing), but lack of AA/CP functionality with this means you don't have access to things like OnX Offroad mapping during the switch.
Yeah that’s a mistake by Ford. They should’ve put them in the auxiliary switches.
Wow... this is incredibly cool, the creator from Surabaya, East Java is here, friends...
I believe ford saved money onthe bumpers as they are the #2 modification on raptors….#1 being Eibach or Geiser lift coils. Which have already been proven in Australia to be able to roll 35’s with minimal rubbing. For that reason alone, the only option box I checked on my order is the “spray in bedliner” for $495 since I am immediately purchasing Eibach coils, beadlock wheels with a negative offset and 10” width. And 35” KO2’s. Hopefully, will almost break even selling my oh so special ko3’s on stocky Ranger raptor wheels.
No rear A/C vents??
I love yall videos there like watching TV for me
Ummm. I am aware of that. But when she talked about it, she didn't mention that it's a great option for people with dogs.
I won't say this truck is super small like she said
There is a joke in there...
Wow! A little over the top acting by the commentator!
I would of bought the ranger raptor , it just came late
This lady sounds like Ian from big tire garage
Folded back seat is great to travel with your dog. Not that these journalists recognize that millions of people take their dogs with them.
Huh? Emme mentioned them folding down flat..
Yes, a turbo V6. Not some turbo I4 BS.
Does it really matter as long as it produces the output you want or need?
@@ALMX5DPit does because the same load will produce less wear on 6 cylinders vs 4. So it should last longer since you are spreading out the load more. 4 to 6 is 50% more cylinders
@@marklihsu is there any actual data to support that generalized comment? Like does the 6.7 Cummins I6 wear out faster than the GM or Ford V8s?
@ALMX5DP Drive them both back to back, and you know what I mean. Sounds alone in a V6 is a win vs the I4.
On a bigger and heavier vehicle, the I4 will always have to work much harder than a bigger V6 to achieve the same amount of power. There are pros and cons to both setups.
A diesel engine and a gasoline engine are two completely different workhorses.
@@hybridstiger would you be okay with the GM 2.7 I4 being it has the same displacement as the Ford 2.7 and a somewhat similar output? Of course if a smaller displacement engine is producing the same amount of power as a larger displacement engine, there will inevitably be some additional stresses involved with the smaller mill, but the 2.3 here is less powerful and has proven itself to be quite competent in the last generation Ranger.
Also I think for a pickup sound is overrated (this coming from a F-150 5.0 owner who would have no qualms with having the sound of the 2.7 or 3.5 Ecoboost, especially when towing decent loads).
If I had one of these it would never touch any dirt.
Ridiculous to call a Ranger a small truck
Ford Maverick is criminally neglected , worse so it's not sold in Europe but the Ranger is?
Yup, I miss Maverick too.
WOMP WOMP
She's acting a bit too much.
Emme Hall makes this review almost unwatchable - sorry!
Soooo annoying! I'm gonna have to take Edmunds out of the rotation as long as this lady is with them
Ugh, she's annoying
I don't normally comment on the presenters, but whats going on with a middle aged woman talking like shes a 20 year old "BRO"?
She has always been like that. Emmie has been around for some time now, saw her first at TFL 10 years ago. Fun girl...
Google her, she’s raced.
Emme Hall is so annoying that this video is completely unwatchable. Edmunds, you have some great presenters, but Emme Hall simply isn't one of them.
