  • While waiting on the NS Monongahela and Pennsylvania Railroad Heritage Units to arrive at East Conway a few days ago, I got treated to a rare site! Former Pennsylvania Railroad #8678, an Alco RSD-12 that was later converted into a slug. Would love to have seen her back in the day but to see an actual locomotive that ran for the Pennsy still running today, almost 70 years after it was built, is something!

    The Pennsylvania railroad never had those but they had e8s and fp7s and gg1s

      They didn't use them as slugs but they did have RSD-12s.

      @ashtonlorenzo7217 NP! I've got too many books on the PRR, and when I googled that locomotive #, it actually gave me some pics of it active with the Pennsy. Should've out them in.....
