A Day in The Life of a Data Scientist

Here is what a day looks like in the life of a data scientist. As more and more organizations implement data-driven processes, the demand for data scientists is growing quickly. But today, there’s no standard definition of what a data scientist is or what they do. On top of that, there’s an emergence of new roles in machine learning engineering, AI research, and data engineering. It’s not always easy to know what to expect when you’re brought in to work with data.
In this webinar, we’ll go over what a typical data scientist’s job looks like. We’ll talk about the day-to-day work, differentiate between the different roles and responsibilities that data scientists have across companies, and describe what a typical day in life looks like.
About the Speaker:
Shanif Dhanani is the co-founder & CEO of Apteo. Prior to Apteo, Shanif was the lead engineer and head of analytics at TapCommerce, an NYC-based ad-tech startup that was acquired by Twitter. Shanif then worked as a data scientist and software engineer at Twitter (which acquired TapCommerce), where he worked on a variety of projects across advertising, analytics, and machine learning. He has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Virginia and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.

Thank you, Shanif. This video was very informative and inspirational as well. I'm currently taking a BS in Data Management/Analytics (it's technically a DS degree) online. I'm graduating next year and hopefully I can land a job as soon as I graduate. :) The timing of me finding this video was perfect. I've been doubting myself lately thinking I'm making a mistake switching careers now. This video was encouraging and it just affirms that I indeed made the right decision. Data Science is what I want do until I retire. Thanks again.
