I am impressed. Over a year old, and no negative reviews. Not something you see very often. So how many years of tech advancement until I can take a picture of a hull with my smart phone, and get real time CFD visualization laid over it in augmented reality?

That would be super impressive! Given how fast computers advance, I would say another 8-10 years. But I'm not sure if the science behind CFD will advance to the point where we can fully automate it and have no human intervention. Something to look forward to.

Very informative.Wish you had the Von Karman Vortex at 8:48. Studying tidal effects from 184 wind turbines south of Marthas Vineyard.

Nice. I have worked with Vortex Induced Vibrations (VIV) before. They can be especially difficult to model accurately in CFD. The offshore industry deals with them extensively. That is one of the times when it warrants going to LES and DES methods in CFD. Accurate resolution of turbulence makes a huge difference for the VIV amplitudes.

Like to see a video on flynner or Magnus effect one horizontal with the bow not just vertical up and down type on the deck and how a vertical across the bow would increase the speed and the lift of the Bow

"If you don't know what it is, dont worry, that's something that the engineers know" I'M THE ENGINEER (Student) AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND :(

I admit, I had to gloss over most of the details to provide a succinct explanation. You can learn more about turbulence and Y+ from my other video:
