So I just deep cleansed my 9month old dreads for the first time, using your method, and they feel cleaner than they have ever felt. Your channel is great, so thanks for the wealth of knowledge you share.
I've had my dreadlocks for 9 1/2 years I work Outdoors is construction and I've only just done my first deep cleanse today, took me half a dozen goes had to keep changing the water because it was putrid but they feel amazing now
This is pretty helpful... I swam yesterday and someone told me this whitish residue was showing on my 2 year old dreadlocks...I immediately hit the search engines and thank God i found you... I have purely relied on locticians, but now i will do it myself... I bet they do not rinse my locks well.. I am so glad, i will wash out the residue tonight..
Dude that skateboard idea is awesome
Doing a super fantastic deep clean as I write this comment. I just dyed my hair, washed it off and now soaking them dreads. The last time I did this, the dye came out of them completely but stayed on my hair (if that makes any sense), my hair was bright red! The water didn't have the slightest hint of color after my first shower. I was AMAZED!
Sometimes I just dump a box of baking soda into a hot bath and soak myself in it for like an hour. Totally relaxing and it also balances my skin out :)
@@RowdyChocolateOfficial Why would there be? Baking soda is really good for your skin and your hair. Bath bombs are baking soda and citric acid with oils added if desired. I should know. I make them.
I just did this (not with all the essential oils, but anyway...) and my hair feels great :) and the water was disturbingly dirty :D ...such a cool way of spending friday afternoon - cleaning my head from residues (and worries from all week while listening to audiobooks on my laptop) and soaking my dreads in warm water :)
I figure if I'm gonna wash my hair I might as well show others how I'm going it! Glad you like my videos :)
Many years into my dread journey I honestly have this video to thank for helping me stay so fresh and so cleannn, thanks brother
I have had my dreadlocks for almost 3 years and I will be doing my first deep cleaning this weekend. I really enjoyed this video it has been a big help!!!
ive been on my journey since october 2016 my fiance has dreads as well. his are about 4 years old. you are one of few people i watch and enjoy listening to about dreads and i appreaciate youre time and efforts.
i think you and your dreads are just wonderful! i just started my dreadlocks and without your vidoes i wouldnt have a clue what i was doing.they have helped me sooo much and i just really wanted to say thank you...and keep them coming lol
I LOVED THIS!! ive been having so much trouble cleaning my scalp with my dreads and this really fixed the problem!! instead of using the rosemary oil i used cedarwood :D im so happy thank you so much !!
I really really want dreadlocks, and am learning everything I can before I get them, and this was great! It's really useful especially because you say how much of the ingredients you use! :)
I did this wash last night and it was amazing! Thank you for your videos. They have helped me a ton!
I'm getting dreads soon, you've become my go to if a question pops in my head. Thanks for not being an excessive blabber and for posting good solid info. Also, you're adorable.
Just done this for the first time now. You would not beleive the colour of the water I used afterwards lol. Safe to say it worked!
Thank u for all the awesome advice u give for dreads. You are prob the only one who gives tips that are accurate and don't damage ur hair. The rest crochet like crazy, and just give the useless maintenance tips. I read that crochet ur dreads actually make the loose hair and frizzyness worse, due to ripping hair inside the dread, which not only weakens it, it causes the shorter broken hair to become loose and frizzy again. So, again thank you for ur truthful videos. They have been extremely helpful!
Peace Out,
Mandi
The only dreadlock advice I listen to since day one thanks brotha for what u do
Just tried this. I'm amazed what yuckyness came out still, while I wash em twice a week. My dreads are alive and light now! Thank you for this! :D
I really wish I had discovered your channel before I took out my dreads! I didn't know I could get rid of the residue! I'm glad I know this before I get them back again :) Thanks!
i am thinking about starting dreads, and you are a very helpful channel to listen to to get info about them!
You're videos make me happy! You're such an energetic person! I can't wait to start dreading my hair!
wow I've only been doing my deep cleans with baking soda and 5 drops of essential lemon oils. no wonder they didn't smell too much better afterwards. I can't wait to try this out, thank you so much!!
I have some build up in my dreads, so I am going to try this out tonight. Thanks for the video man! Peace!
Thank you buddy for all of your help... my curly hair is dreading up very nicely... glad u showwd how to introduce oils
I just did this method. I started my dreadlocks about 1 year and 3 months ago, so I've done the baking soda and acv deep clean a few times now. This was the first time doing it this way, and my dreadlocks feel super soft and clean. Other methods that I've tried left me thinking, "Did that really do anything?" This one is really good! Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge about dreadlocks!
Been watching you for years, you'll always my go to man for my hair :)
Your videos are so cool i like watching them especially this one since it will be my first time doing the dep cleanse. . Btw i love your dreads
Thank you my friend for making awesome dreadlock advice videos. I'm eventually getting my first dreadlocks once my hair gets longer and I'm never getting rid of my dreads occasionally get them trimmed to ease tension but other than that I'm going to live my life as a dread head.
Great videos... I have had dreads for about 14 years now.. For years I dyed them and bleached them and generally didn't look after them all that well.. I have had natural color dreads now for about 18 months and am looking after them now days :) Im gonna try your deep clean treatment to get rid of some of the left over residue. Thankyou very much xx
Duude, you are awesome! My girlfriend wants to do a deep cleanse, (and hell yeaass she needs one) so she showed me your video, and I can't wait to try this method with her. I think you might have given us more than just your knowledge about dreads. Thank you, you beautiful man. (:
I LOVEEEEE YOUR ENTHUSIASM!!!! :) Makes my day
Thanks so much for the great video! My dreads are 2 years 7 months and this was my first deep clean. Need to do more often!
Woah, mine are 2 years 7 months and here I am, prepping for my first deep clean. Deja vu!
Always enjoy your vids, and the legit information to try to get out to the people! Good stuff!
i have literally been watching too many of your videos. like. i feel like i legitimately know you personally now. anyway. yeah love you man. I only have 4 partial dreads now. but everyone is saying it looks so good i should just get it all done. i don't know dude. that'd be a big decision.
Hey man, I've had my dreads for 7 months now and I deep clean once every 2 months. I use a whole lemons worth of juice, 3tbs of acv and 3tbs of bicarb. I also add in around 2tsp of my rosmary eucalyptus and hemp dread shampoo, soak for 20 mins and then rinse out thoroughly. It leaves no residue build up in my hair at all and makes it feel so clean!
I love your videos, they are so helpful, and doing research I just watch all your videos. thanks for all of them :-)
Just watched ur video..... not deepcleaned my dreads since havin them last september! I will defo use ur technique this weekend to give them a clean!! Thanku
I think you are adorable! I love all of your videos, they were extremely helpful in helping me make the change to dreadlocks :)
Oh my gosh you are so down to earth and awesome! love your videos :3
I just did the soak then ACV then used Knotty boy dread shampoo, and my hair has never felt better! I think, personally, that the lavender is not necessary since it is just for smell, because once I put the ACV in my hair, thats all that my hair smelled like. Luckily the Knotty boy has tea tree oil and peppermint in it. I've had dreads for 2 years, after growing it straight for 6 (total of 8), so they are long and thick. This is my second time doing dreadlocks, and I can honestly say I have never even considered doing a cleanse. But after seeing this I had to try it, and I'm glad I did. The water looked like grey paint when I was done. I'll continue to do these cleanses for the rest of my dreadlocke's life. Thanks brotha, Positive vibes.
I have got to try this SOON! 😄😄😄 Thx Lazy Dreads for the fun and facts 👍
“And a spoooon” lol, this vid makes me laugh and gives me tips for my dreads😂keep it up man
lavender actually has health benefits for the scalp as well
It worked wonderfully
I used store-bought lemon juice since i was short a lemon, so hopefully that's okay. The wash was even gentle to my baby dreads which have only been forming for several months. They look just as happy as my matured locks.
Just what i needed...as always! Great video! :)
Hey thanks for making this video. I’m going to try this with my two year old dreads that have never been deep cleaned
Extremely helpful information. Thank you so much for posting
I just did this wash today. My dreads have never felt so clean! :)
I recently subscribed...love your personality and videos 😊✌️I too have a channel derived around mostly dreadlocks. Thanks for being so awesome and funny lol
Jeez man, my dreads have never felt this clean, EVER! mighty thanks!!
My locks get fuzzies too (I had not been super strict about using lint-free towels, etc). I once decided to condition them because they can be dry-ish (I wash with baking soda which can dry it out) & I used Coconut oil, kinda massaged into my locks followed by a deep cleanse similar to Lazy Dread's cleanse (I only use teatree & baking soda follow by vinegar) & a large majority of the fuzz/lint came out when rinsing in the shower. Plus coconut oil makes hair shiny, strong & smells good.
I am going to do this cleanse Saturday, thanks
I'm really feelin this guys vibe.
Laying here doing the soak and watching your videos!
You can do this on younger dreads, you can even add some seasalt to the soak to help them along. There aren't any conditioners in the mix so it's safe to do, just treat the dreads with care, take your time and you'll be fine :)
I love your energy! Your vids make for fun watching :)
LOL! Great editing (the cuts), mate! :D
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy my videos!
I go back to this video everytime I deep clean cause I never remember what goes in it! But great video.
i'm so glad I saw this, I've had my dreads for almost three years now, and just lately started smelling mildew. I did this with Dr broners, tea tree, baking soda and the hot water. how grids never fine a deep clean before.embarrassing how dirty they were
Many many thanx; I;m just waiting on my micro towel to arrive and then my deep cleanse begins. I bin doin the bicarb wash followed by ACV but never did a half hour soak as yet... cant wait to see what gunk comes outta my waist length babies! Should be interesting...! Ta fer the heads up! :-)
Thank you so much! This was extremely helpful!
Thanks dude! Doing this RIGHT NOW!
Thank you the info you put out it is super helpful!
Hey bro so when you say "i then wash as normal"
Do you mean you now use your soap you use when washing normally? Or do you just use water and treat the deep clense youve just finished as your "soap"?
Thanks!
Oh my!!! The color of that water D:
Cant wait to do mine ^^
i appreciate you thanks so much for your time and love!
Thank you l have some residue issues & l am giving this method a try
nice video man! when i do like the bicarbonate soda soak i usually add a lot of them things :) haven't done it in a while! might have to do it soon!
Babe and I just watched ur video! We love you. Started mine about a month ago and I have terrible dandruff. Hoping it helps.
Great recipe Thanks! Please be sure to always use essential oil safe containers for your health.
One one brutha man. This worked perfectly man thanks for the info.
Sooooo cute
Rosemary also helps get rid of lice and helps to not get oily scalp. I do on my normal hair, a mask with coconut oil and few drops of rosemary now I was my hair online once a week because it will start to smell weird, but not get oily
Thank you! Yes purple is awesome, I paint all my walls in two-tone purple :)
wicked smart idea with the skate board, when i do the deep clean i usually just bend over and dunk my head in the sink, skateboard definitely seems more comfortable
Just did it with rosemary and clove bud essential oils! During the apple cider vinegar rinse portion my hair was literally squeaky, it's that clean. =) With the clove oil, it smells so spicy and delicious that I didn't want to wash it with shampoo after, so I jsut rinsed the ACV out with water. Thanks LazyDreads! =)
I’ve been watching your videos for about 2 years now and finally got the balls to dread my hair (not really , I just ran out of conditioner and basically started prepping my hair without even realizing it lol). I started washing it less and soon I started getting neglect dreads. Seeing this I brushed them out and began twist and ripping. Has anything changed in your routine and do you even still have dreads?
Hey man. My dreads are 2 and a half year old but hair hasn't actually been cut; even trimmed, in about 6 years. I have never had a problem with itchy scalp nor dandruff but lately its been terrible to the point of thinking about cutting them all out. This is a great video and i'm gunna shoot on out buy some Apple cider vinegar and Rosemary oil today; already have the other stuff. If this works for me your going to be my new hero. I shall update later tonight. Subbed.
Just did this two days ago for ny month ood dreads. I used coconut oil in place of the lavender(couldn't find any) but they feel and smeol fantastic now.
dope video man, cheers x
You are adorable. Great video! Can't wait to try this!
Hey, bro! Nice vids. Ive got two yr old dreads... How often do you recommend to do this cleansing? Thanks for all the tips. Bless ya.
You are so awkward, its wonderful lol! Love all of your videos, very informative and helpful.
Oh I'm gonna try this I've had dreads for years And never tried a deep clean but I notice alot of dandruff and lint in them. So thank you I'll try this and let u know what I think
Just finished trying this out. I feel so clean, this was great !
Yet.. it was very uncomfortable ahah but I pulled through x) and soaked them for as long as I could. The water turned murky, it was gross ! lol but I'm super glad knowing they're extra clean now :D Thank you !
Your bathroom is pretty rad.
You can do the basic bicarb deep clean whenever you want, but for this 'super deep clean' I recommend waiting until your dreads are a couple of months old because this mixture softens the dreads slightly which you might not want with really young dreads.
I'm bout to try it on 3m old ones.. Can't wait
I love your vids! Hella funny and you're dreads are sick!!!! :D
question When should you do your FIRST deep cleanse wash? My wife has had her dreadlocks for about 4 months and they are maturing quickly!
Alright man! Great video and an awesome channel! Can I ask, is the vinegar necessary? because vinegar scented dreads doesn't sound to appealing ;p
You are hilarious :D by the way, I love how you actually demonstrate when you teach us these things. Other people just explain and I never know for sure if I got it right xD they especially don't get in the shower with us lol that's always fun to watch
ima gonna try this i have dreadlocks on 4 years .. and i never doing that clean i ll try tnx man your awesome :))) jah bless
I like putting chai tea in afterward it smells soooo good
Hi. You don't want the pulp, just the liquid. You can use just the lemon juice in a bottle if you prefer. The juice by itself can be a little sticky but it's so dilute in this mixture and you rinse after so you don't get left with any stickiness afterwards.
Lazydreads,
I have a huge problem!! I have had my dreads for just over three years now and I just recently noticed little mostly grey but some white fuzzies in my hair near the tips and loops. I can pull some of it out but some of it is stuck in the dread. I don't really have much of it but enough that I notice it if I look close enough. I am more then sure that it is mold and I REALLY REALLY don't want to get rid of my dreads :( when they are wet they sort of smell which I can assume is the mold. I recently have been doing the drying method you use in your how to dry dreads video. I am sure that the mold in my dreads is due to them not being completely dry. When I wash my hair I use tea tree shampoo or baking soda with 5 or 6 tea tree oil drops in it. I do a deep clean around every two months. And wash my hair usually about once a week but drying is so time consuming I haven't washed my hair lately. I hear that tea tree oil is an anti-fungal and will get rid of the mold. Is that true? What should I do? PLEASE don't tell me I have to get rid of my dreads, I would be devastated. By the way big fan thanks for the help and love your dreads:)
You are the only person on CZcams that I will listen to about dreadlocks. Im sending positive vibes and a mental kiss on the cheek to you. Stay groovy.
olivia kosier Here here!
I feel the same way about him!!! Awesome!
same lol
olivia kosier same... I feel like everyone else doesn't know what they're talking about lol
Personally lazy dread and knot nation are the only one I pay the most attention to especially cause they tend to say similar thing but have different points of views
