Can gypsum plaster be applied with a brush as overlay to an extremely ornate wood carved frame, and will it still dry smooth?

For me, gypsum plaster cannot be used as an external plaster but, we must find alternatives.
In my country we use cement blocks and cement plaster and this is the main problem that causes increase in temperature inside the house so, I found that Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks are good solution but, I should find good plastering material that resist the heat.
Sir ji kindly share durability of gypsum plaster.

Thanks for this video. It was interesting. One comment: your statement about cement and gypsum plaster at the beginning from 1:21 are inaccurate. You say that cement can experience early shrinkage while gypsum not, which is true. However, you give the reason as cement having lower flexural and tensile strength than gypsum - this is misleading because cement is a much stronger material than gypsum. Watching this video, one might believe otherwise.

It’s not ideal for damp areas
Two comments. It is not true that there is no wastage in applying gypsum plaster. I am noticing that more than 75% plaster is getting wasted as I am seeing it is being applied in my living room. The second remark is about the strength of the bond. You have not mentioned about the strength of the two types of plasters.
