  • Straight to the point. I have been using this Motion Capture Suite for over a year now, and this is what I´ve learned.
    Let me know how I can help!

    Have you ever checked for mag interference? I just did a recording yesterday and had wonky results in some sensors, although I didn't bother with the actor profile measurements, but there were many moments where the magnetometers were disabled during recording in some sensors. I checked with the recommended apps and they had 0.6-0.9microTeslas in the whole house. I see you have some instruments and speakers very close by, did you check for that? Any improments?

    I am a developer who makes subculture games and 3d animations as a hobby.
    I'm using ai motion capture such as moveAI or rockoko AI, and I recently had a opportunity to get the Rokoko Smart Suit Pro 2 set for 2K, so I was thinking a lot between AI and that suit.
    I was wondering if there was a software update from rockoko because there were only videos from a long time ago, but I'm sad to hear that the software issue doesn't get fixed until recently.
    The video were helpful in making my decision. Thanks.

      It is concerning, that there is next to zero coverage about this product or software experience in general. Lack of documentation is def. a problem too.

      Multi cam setup is very expensive and their 3 month subscription is almost like at a price of whole smartsuit

      @@AlexiosLair I actually cannot find pricing on their multicam plan. You know anything?

      @@NilsGallist It's 1500 USD for 3 months and $3000 for a year. You also need to buy at-least 3 GoPro 10s+(Or Iphones 11+ you want wide angle lens) to get the best capture quality out of the system, the more the better up to 8 I think depending on how big of a capture volume you want. That's at-least another 1k for the cameras and stands.
      Overall, it ends up being about as much as a Rokoko suit and Gloves and you can't actually see the output until you've processed it on their online service making it really dicey to use without actually seeing the quality of the captures until after the session is over. That in itself is a dealbreaker for me.
      I just picked up a Rokoko suit after winning the gloves for free and man the magnetitic interference makes the legs completely unusable in my apartment. unfortunate. I think in an environment with less metal it would be a better investment.

    • @NilsGallist
      @NilsGallist  Před měsícem +2

      @@daveweinstock Thank you for the information. No wonder they don´t list that pricing anywhere. Outrageous. The magnetic interference stuff is only bad for the Rokoko. Xsense handles it very well, Perception Neuron too. What is Rokoko´s Solution? Release another Product for 1500Bucks (Coil Pro), instead of fixing their software. It´s always the same...

      анимировать можно в любом пакете. я в МАХ работаю, в cascadeur. Костюм же не заменит ничего из этого.. если не тратить годы на набор опыта.

    I'm using the vive tracker to record mocap animations. However, the weight and bulk of the tracker limits the actions I can do, so I'm looking into mocap suits like rokoko. I'm curious to what extent the coil pro will improve accuracy. czcams.com/video/M-TGvemX-uM/video.html

    • @NilsGallist
      @NilsGallist  Před 5 měsíci +1

      As far as I know the Coil Pro is mainly focued about improving Hand-Tracking quality. And by proxy improving the suite quality. But that´s another 2 Grand to this already quite pricy Set-Up

      @@NilsGallist I'm trying to choose between Perception neuron 3 and Rokoko smart suit Pro 2. I'd like to ask for advice on which one to choose! From what I've seen in the videos so far, Pn3's walking motion seems more natural, but I'm curious to see if there is a real difference.

    • @NilsGallist
      @NilsGallist  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@toyxyz3917 I´ve worked with both. I do not like PN3, it was just janky all the time. Plus their Hands do not support five finger tracking, only 3. If you are using it in a live scenario, bot options have equally.... servicable... quality in walk cycles. But PN3 does have the better clean up processor. A major plus for PN3 is it´s size. It´s not a suit, but straps with sensors. Actors feel WAY more confident in these.

    • @toyxyz3917
      @toyxyz3917 Před 4 měsíci

      @@NilsGallist Thank you for your detailed response! Oh, so does that mean Rokoko is better than Pn3 in terms of hardware performance? The weird walking motion and awkward weight shifts seem to be a problem with the software algorithms. I've heard complaints about the fragile cable from several people who have used the Rokoko, but how is it in practice?

    • @NilsGallist
      @NilsGallist  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@toyxyz3917 Yeah, I´d download walkcyles from a website 10/10 times. Any mocap suit apart from big volumes are just rough estimations. You cannot expect naughty dog quality mocap out of any system. Every mocap data will be needed to re-edit in competent software like cascadeur or smth. I do prefer the Rokoko over the PN3. Outcome is the same, but for me the 5 finger tracking was a game changer. I have never had any fragile cable issues.

    Yeah, they are selling this for a scam. Do not purchase this if you're not a large studio with tons of money.

      How so? This seems pretty solidly in the 'pro-sumer' price range. It's not cheap but compared to XSens ($12k + 2k a year subscription if you want full body and a gloves), and Optix systems are even more expensive it's a pretty good deal.

    • @millstoneandrope7808
      @millstoneandrope7808 Před 17 dny

      I wouldnt say its a scam. ive had it for 3 months. theres things rokoko does well and things it does not do well AT ALL. for basic mocab its great. if youre looking to dance/action/fast pace scenes then forget it. but for what you pay for it works depending on the project youre working on. I would say stay away if youre looking to anything with complicated movements. The leg issues are simply too great.
