What an eye opener! I see a dermatologist four times a year for skin cancer and she has never mentioned vitamin A benefits, retinol products, etc. I learned more from this twenty-five minutes than I have the past six years of being a patient of hers! You had my complete attention when she described patients with dull complexions, and layers of dead skin. I thought that my skin was supposed to look like this! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Now I have information to make me a better informed patient. Again Dominique, you are the bomb! Thank you for introducing us all to Dr. Nigro! She is amazing! BTW sweet friend, you look stunning in that brown velvet...can I get a witness??? 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏼🙋🏻‍♂️🙌🏻🥰

I loved this video. Dr. Nigro is a ‘firecracker’ with such great advice (and gorgeous skin). She’s very upfront about not having to break the bank to buy the right products. She seems to communicate that this is all do-able at an affordable pricepoint. I have dabbled in Retinoids over the years but now I FINALLY understand how this really works. (If I lived in Texas I would go to see her but I’m in LA). I am turning 70 next year. She said it’s never too late to start. Happy Birthday to me....this is my gift! 😂 (Love her Chanel top). @@cathyincolorado1432 I am 59 years old and have NEVER washed my face in the evening AND morning...the less facewash the better. If you clean your skin in the evening, WHY would your skin become dirty DURING the night? It is OVERKILL and the companies that make skin products recommend washing evening AND morning because then they sell their facewash products MORE OFTEN. I never really looked after my skin...used only cheap products if at all but my saving grace was STAYING OUT OF THE SUN...even at school I WAS THE ONE sitting in the shade while all my friends sat in the sun for that GLORIOUS SUNTAN. I was teased because my skin was so white...I laughed it off (those years we didn't even KNOW about sun damage...I just didn't LIKE the sun)...today I can show the difference between my skin and my schoolfriends' skins (I am STILL friends with 3 of them)...even TODAY I am teased by my friend...he sometimes calls me 'Chocka', whick is a kind of white squid used for bait when fishing...he said my skin is so white that the sharks will think I am 'chocka' and eat me when I go into the sea...LOL. I don't care...

After I apply these, I moisturize with cerave PM lotion. During the day, I wash my face with L’Oréal glycolic acid 3.5% face wash and then apply Neutrogena vitamin c 20%, moisturize with my cerave AM lotion and apply sunblock. I do this every morning. I learned from another dermatologist (check out budget dermatologist) that vitamin c will absorb better onto the skin when the skin PH is acidic, therefore the use of the glycolic acid wash I mentioned above.

Thank you for all of this wonderful information. I went to a dermatologist a few years ago looking to curb the signs of aging, fine lines, wrinkles, etc. (I was 45 at the time.) After my exam, she told me that my skin was as good as it was going to get. She then prescribed Tretinoin with the advice to use it twice a day, and told me it was going to get worse before it got better. Thankfully I did some of my own research and decided to use a more gradual approach. I agree, if it's too much trouble or if you begin to have terrible results, you aren't going to stick with it. BTW, haven't been back to the derm.

I make Korean rice cream. Cook a third of a cup of rice in water until totally soft. Let cool. Blend rice and water with two tablespoons of plain yogurt, three tablespoons of coconut oil, and one tablespoon of corn starch.blend until smooth. Apply to whatever skin has brown spots, melasma, etc. leave on for fifteen minutes. Wash off with warm water. It’s not a miracle fix but over time, the spots fade. It will keep about a week in the refrigerator.

Be careful if you have dry eyes. Per Laura M. Periman, MD, Retinoids and retinol in anti-aging facial lotions and under-eye creams can cause meibomian gland damage. Dr. Periman said she recommends that her dry eye patients stop using retinyl derivatives on the face altogether. "When patients stop using Retin-A around the eyes, their dry eye gets better," she said.
