At the 5:29 moment is a very important mark, here Contador gives Tiralongo his first professional victory, and in 2012 at the Vuelta Tiralongo returned the favor by giving everything he had to help Contador even though he was from a different team (a fact many commentarors didn't really realize during the stage).
Through the time i´ve watched cycling, that was the most dominant peformance off any rider in GT, he was on a whole other level than any of his opponents
That 2011 Giro was an incredible display of Contador's dominance of the sport. We should keep in mind that it was taken away retroactively not because he was found to have doped during the Giro, but as part of the penalty for the positive test at the Tour over a year before. It was, at least legally speaking, a clean race for Contador but one he had to forfeit for past violations. I don't think any rider can compete with this man when he's at his best. Amazing.
what a great power Alberto , I never saw such thing in any rider before , ur the best rider I ever seen , poor guy who trying to follow ur wheels , because he get almost heart attack , glad to see u again in Vuelta , u still the real champ and champ of the all times
I will certainly agree with you here because even Liquigas's squad wasn't strong enough to compete with them. But this time trial was also well-suited to Contador - most of his ITT stage wins are on this sort of tracks. Both he and Purito were incredible yesterday :)
Of course dude! I love aggressive riders, and il Squale cuz he is an entertaining man and a great climber. He always makes the race more pleasant race to watch.

Strong powerful, exciting, rider who takes risks. Totally unlike Frandy Schleck. Also, a classy rider where he gifts these two stages to Rujano and Tiralongo. A lot of respect for this guy.
Contador is an awesome champion and a kind person, the greatest climber of all time, I believe in his innocence, the final decision from the CAS is clearly unfair and severus, and for my part, I'm really disgusted. There's a lot of hypocrisy in the world of cycling. I'm sure he will be back stronger and faster than ever, he is going to destroy the vuelta a Espana's GC 2012.
Great video, roll on La Vuelta when Bertie will kick their butts. He's a true champion and am disgusted at how he has been treated by CAS. Come on Alberto, i believe in you.
Nibali would have never resisted on the last climb towards Gardeccia dude. He was immediately dropped by Scarponi, Gadret and Contador. Well, 6 or 7 minutes, that's huge anyway. Plus, he also got beaten by 7 minutes on the Tour 2009. I'm looking forward to the Vuelta, I would bet contador for the win. If he is at his best shape, he will win without any problem, if he is not, then it might be a very close race.
I hoped that The Shark will start in Pamplona to show that his performance in last year's Vuelta wasn't his real potential. I felt very sad seeing him struggling on Angliru.
Well, everyone has his opinion and could share it :) Sorry if I have annoyed you in any term. Also, I've told many people that for me Contador is the real winner of that Giro and he shouldn't have been banned for microscopic clenbuterol. I haven't forgot what Alberto did on Verbier or Angliru, but I don't think I'm exaggerating. Now Enzo is simply in much better form than in that Giro, so that is my reason for writing this.
That Contador didn't win TdF 2012 and that he got banned for two years despite the judges saying that he probably didn't get Clentoburol in his body on purpose, may in the long run be an advantage to Contador. Contador came forth as a human being and tough little big man. More and more people are beginning to like him. Riis said that he wanted to make him popular and in a way he has done so
@NeoDarkShadow1 Totally agree with you, and not because i'm from spain, because it's true. La vuelta a españa of this year will be funny, like giro or...
Very surprised at the decision by the CAS, considering the amount of that whatever found in his system was still thousands of times lesser than the required amount. No idea why he has been penalized so harshly. Will definitely miss him at the Tour this year fighting Evans and the Schlecks.
Ah the best rider ever! Every time I watch AC up the climbs I just laugh he's such an attacking rider. There's been so many boring GC winners in the past but this guy is panache
I'm not saying he will surely win this Vuelta, but if he is at 100%, it 'll be very (too?) hard to beat him. This guy is an alien. (By the way The Shark said the same thing on the Giro lol).
@FFXIHeat Pantani was for sure very fast on climbs and he is one of the best climber of all time maybe the best! But Contador is also really fast at a steady pace, and don't forget that the fastest performance on a climb so far is from Contador, on Verbier on the tour de France 2009!
And if I was a fan of Contador I would have congratulated Nibali for his courage - he was the only one who really tried put him under pressure. What do you say about this?
@NeoDarkShadow1 I don't know if the best Contador would have defeted the best Pantani. Contador is a champion, the greatest of his time..but so few people could resist to the strenght if Marco, anyway..they are amazing, in different ways..but with a big talent. ps= sorry for my english
Contador is facing many difficulties in this Vuelta, what do you think? He didn't make more than a minute on Purito in the time trial... I told you that if Contador wins the Vuelta it won't be an easy victory.
And Froome will have Rigoberto Uran and Sergio Henao in his team. Too bad that Vincenzo Nibali won't participate in this Vuelta, I'm sure that now he can beat Alba :(
"he ate contaminated nutritional supplements without his knowledge" that's what wrote the CAS on the final rapport. So why do you tell me he doped? Any proof? He is not the greatest climber of all time? I won't start arguing about that, even if you hate him, you cannot deny the fact that he makes history of cycling, he is part of the greatest climber in history. And don't talk me about doping again, cuz I don't think at ALL Armtrong, Pantani, Merckx, Fignon (he admitted) were clean.
The time trial was well-suited for Purito, the spanish rider was faster than such rider like Tony Martin, Cameron Meyer, Castroviejo, Talanski, Gesink etc.. and equal to Richie Porte....
1 minute of those 7 was only by time bonuses and if on the 15th stage Contador didn't use some other riders to catch Nibali after the descent of the Passo Giau his advantage against The Shark would have never been that huge. And I don't underestimate Alba, I know that he is a brilliant rider but if Sky do the same train on the climbs even Alberto will struggle against Froome. Look at those facts, bro. All I hope is to watch a good show in the upcoming Vuelta, no matter who will win it.
Yep. If Contador had been there, it's possible Wiggins would have come third. Wiggins would not have been able to keep pace with Contador in the mountains. He would have lost more time to Contador in the mountains, than Contador lost time to him in the time trials. Since Froome climbed far better than Wiggins, Froome might have become leader of Sky, would have been allowed to ride away from Wiggins in the mountains.
Froome on TDF wasn't against such pure climbers like Alberto (Even not at this best shape..), Valverde (at 100%), or Purito. That's why he easily dominated the mountains.
Yeah, of course, but dude, what's done is done, Contador was the best, he dropped him at almost every mountain stages, you won't complain for 30 sec/ 1 min or what would have happened if.. I mean.. I can say too that Contador could have attacked on the last mountain stage (20) towards Sestrières (Summit finish) but he just followed because he was already first by far . Sure, Contador in his Tour 2009/ Giro2011/Vuelta 2008 Shape is unbeatable. Sky dominated the Tour 2012, but did you see
At the 5:29 moment is a very important mark, here Contador gives Tiralongo his first professional victory, and in 2012 at the Vuelta Tiralongo returned the favor by giving everything he had to help Contador even though he was from a different team (a fact many commentarors didn't really realize during the stage).
One of the most exciting riders, not just of his generation, but of all time.
he is definitely up there. His absence truly showed how great he is.
Thanks for the video. What a rider Alberto is.
I am sure he'll win the Giro next year.
It will be good to see him ride both Giro and Tour.
El GRANDE.
Through the time i´ve watched cycling, that was the most dominant peformance off any rider in GT, he was on a whole other level than any of his opponents
he's the real winner of giro 2011 and the best climber

Contador is a complete rider like armstrong, cancellara and many others. Very nice video !
contador was amazing
Thanks for the epic upload - INNOCENT!
I will certainly agree with you here because even Liquigas's squad wasn't strong enough to compete with them. But this time trial was also well-suited to Contador - most of his ITT stage wins are on this sort of tracks. Both he and Purito were incredible yesterday :)

Whether you're a Contador fan or not, you gotta love that, that man doesn't understand the word defensive cycling ..
Even if he was doped, he is still a fenomenal rider.

contador is the best he going the tour de france 2012!! :)
skrillex scary monsters and nice sprites
@NeoDarkShadow1 I agree with everything you said, but you should know that the GREATEST climber of all time was Marco Pantani.
hD ?
@NeoDarkShadow1 I don't know if the best Contador would have defeted the best Pantani. Contador is a champion, the greatest of his time..but so few people could resist to the strenght if Marco, anyway..they are amazing, in different ways..but with a big talent. ps= sorry for my english
HE DIDN'T HAD ANY POSITIVE CONTROL IN THAT GIRO ;) IT WAS ONLY ON THE TDF OF 2010 ;)
Alberto is clearly excited at 15-19......headshot!
Contador is facing many difficulties in this Vuelta, what do you think? He didn't make more than a minute on Purito in the time trial... I told you that if Contador wins the Vuelta it won't be an easy victory.
contador brajkovic and armstrong the best
5:55 Why are you playing Tour de France music :D
Best style ever, best attack, THE best
And Froome will have Rigoberto Uran and Sergio Henao in his team.
Too bad that Vincenzo Nibali won't participate in this Vuelta, I'm sure that now he can beat Alba :(
"he ate contaminated nutritional supplements without his knowledge" that's what wrote the CAS on the final rapport. So why do you tell me he doped? Any proof?

I AGREE IF HE JUST RACED TO WIN I GRAND TOUR T-F GIRO VUELTA NO ONE CAN BEAT HIM......
He will win TDF again
quand il va revenir a août sa va faire mal !!!!!! ;)
1 minute of those 7 was only by time bonuses and if on the 15th stage Contador didn't use some other riders to catch Nibali after the descent of the Passo Giau his advantage against The Shark would have never been that huge.

anyone else think Alberto let him win at 5:34 ?
he did.
Yeah, of course, but dude, what's done is done, Contador was the best, he dropped him at almost every mountain stages, you won't complain for 30 sec/ 1 min or what would have happened if.. I mean.. Sure, Contador in his Tour 2009/ Giro2011/Vuelta 2008 Shape is unbeatable. Sky dominated the Tour 2012, but did you see
