He used to hit all kinds of small tournaments then, remember him coming through Morganton back when they only had Bethel park and he was hitting 500 at 11/12 years old.
idk anything about disc golf, but I imagine whoever can generate the most power with their body, generally will throw the farthest. Wiggins is built like a pro baseball player, physically he is superior to most. It's wild that Tamm can do the same without the 360 and a body half the size.

Didn't realize how much of a freaking monster Albert Tamm is. I say if he kept in bounds more he'd clean up shop. Then imagine what he could do with a solid 360 😮

Exciting competition format to watch. Some guys definitely surprised me throwing so far. Wind conditions made it even more exciting. Great shooting too from camera guys and drone driver

Nice coverage, thanks guys, nice work Nate. I particularly like how you stumbled in the first sentence on the name of the event and were like, no redos, let's roll with it. You did the rest flawlessly but it was funny because you could have restarted, it was like the 8th word.
Thrilling, went by in seconds. Nothing better inn this world than smashing a drive and you hear your buddies go "uhuhuhuhuhhoooo God" and you're as high as you'll ever be
I feel like these are where the world record distances should be set. Not in 60mph tail winds in a flat desert. I mean 1108 is impressive but someone can just wait for bigger tailwinds and probably crush it now.
No. There were many big throwers there when David set the 1108'. No one got within 200' of him. First, you have to be able to throw incredibly high AND fast.
You'd need an even faster release velocity just to get the disc to go if you increase the wind speeds. Good luck to anyone trying to stand, hold a disc and try to achieve a 100 mph release velocity with an 80 mph tail wind.
The amount of love and respect everyone has for one another is what makes this sport what it is. Nothing like watching competitors cheer for each other. Keep your courses clean. Respect✊
Out of every throw from each competitor (inbounds and o.b.) AB's shot that hit the trees on the right side of the fairway was by far the biggest drive. That would've pushed close to 800, AB will win this year.
@@squirrelydan3 Just saw a very interesting paper about a new type of rotor that is much quieter than a standard straight-bladed drone propeller. Combining both could hopefully preserve the experience for people on the course, and give the pros the opportunity to focus.

Hats of to Hammes, definitely punched above his weight class, shows how dedicated he is to his form. Albert Tamm, what can you say about that guy, casually bombing a 700+ drive on a tight fairway, the dude is a God among men lol. Purest athlete on tour. And he's got a bomb of a forehand too!

Tamm is the biggest thrower. AB and Wiggins needed huge run ups with 360s and he still had the furtherest throw. And the arm speed with a normal walk up is insane. I'd love to see them eliminate the 360 to see pure distance.
Is this the only year of this completion available? I’ve been trying to find past years but can’t find any, even before covid. Loved it and really wanna see another!

A big, long, fast runup DECREASES distance, because your hips are moving forward at the time you need a deep rotation of your hips. A super slow runup is at least as effective.
Props to Wiggins for sure. While it's awesome to see him bomb distance, or McBeth make every 70 foot putt, or Simon throw Simon lines, I'm getting the sense there is going to be some incredible players of a new generation taking over in the next few years. When AB, Gannon, Antilla, Klein, Even Tamm is only 24) and a bunch of folks we've never heard of get a few more years of experience and grow all the way into their bodies, I think we're going to see a level of competition in the sport we've never seen before.
I think simons 360 is the only chance of competing with wiggins his 84 mph release wasnt on a good line if you noticed he powered down to 80 and 78 to stay in bounds and still won he has said hes thrown 770 at 85mph with no wind before
Its what any soaring pilot would call a thermic day. Look at those flat bottom clouds and listen to the descriptions of the variable wind. Thermals add lift and sink and lots of variability to the overall wind field. None of those in anyones control. Tough.
I just don't see the additional benefit of doing a 360, you can see that the disc is more or less stationary when Wiggins starts the throwing motion, meaning that all angular momentum has left it.
Seeing age 11 Wiggins throw farther than I ever have gave me a nice jolt of morning humility to start the day with
Absolutely, it kinda hurt me feelings,
