I purchased my 2016 S550 in Dallas 2 weeks ago. 54,800 miles for $35,800. I also own a 2016 BMW 740i. I have fun comparing them. Both have great features. My BMW has some better features than my S550, and my S550 has a few better features than my BMW. My BMW is hands down the car for a person who wants to have fun driving, while my S550 is much better at cruising and being a laid back driver. Thanks for your channel.
I have the W222 2016 S550 with 47000 miles. I have had a horrible experience with the Park Place dealership, Dallas TX in getting a rattle solved that was coming from my panoramic sunroof. I finally had to resort to going to an outside source, namely, a headliner expert OF 25 YEARS to figure out where the rattle was coming from. The dealership, swore up and down that, the whole sunroof needed to be replaced. And of course they worked it around until the car was out of warranty and finally diagnosed that the entire sunroof needed to be replacement at cost of 15 K to me. That was totally unacceptable. What I found out was that problem of the rattling was the windscreen rattling against the glass. And of course, the temporary fix was to put felt padding along the outer rail of the windscreen. I still have an occasional slight headache rattling problem but not like before. In the meantime and the process of finding this rattle, the rear sunscreen has a malfunction. My scanner has identified a fault code that indicates that the sunroof module has a malfunction. I’m in the process of trying to figure that one out, and if you can give me any advice or do a video or something on that issue, I would appreciate it very much. Preston J
If I was you I would do 1 of 2 things or both. The 1st is to go to another MB dealer just to get the diagnostic done and pay the diagnostic fee so they can tell you where exactly the module or part that needs to be replaced is. Deny the work and get the car back and buy the part yourself and replaced it by looking at the electronic manual or look at the electronic manual itself and see what component make up the part you want to replace, buy the part and replace it yourself.
Thanks for the recommendation. Fortunately, I started pressing all of the buttons on the rear window console and the rear shade started to move sluggishly but it finally made it to the close position. Then it advanced from closed to open. I then checked the button on the front console and behold it started to work. All is well on the rear shade. I still have to address the rattle coming from the front windscreen. Thanks again Wayne!! @@WayneARobertson

So far I've replaced:
The air filters
The trans fluid
The front and rear differential gear oil
The turbo coolant lines
The water pump
The brake fliuid
All the pulleys from plastic aluminum.

Thank you for another great video. In 2021, I purchased a 2015 Mercedes Benz S550 4matic from a Mercedes Benz dealership with 65k miles on it. The dealership said it was previously a corporate lease. This is my second car from this dealership. Previously I purchased a 05 E500 which I still have (14 years and still counting) so I trusted them. I stick to the dealership of that car because of the obvious. I never liked the idea of run flat tires because of availability and I personally believe that it that those tires will crack your rim. I still have run flat tires on the car but when I need tires I am going back to traditional tires. So far the only thing that happened to the car ‘15 Sclass was a plastic drain pipe fell off while driving and recently I found a broken air intake hose. I am not a mechanic but I love that trade and enjoy working on my cars. I follow your channel and you have saved me a lot..

I did oil change
Aux battery/main battery
Air filters intake and cabin.
Next up is spark plugs and trans/gears .

Thank You. My Benz is running fine. I stay on top of it. I would buy the Autel Maxicom MK808S-TS scanner. It is a bi-directional scanner.
Hey Wayne, happy belated birthday! Love the content on your Chanel. I own a 2016 S550 as well as a 2013 E550 cab. Had the s550 for about a year now and so far no problems except for trans shifting. My research shows that a simple firmware update to latest version fixes that hard 2nd gear shifts. There’s a MB dealer in Rhode Island that knows how to fix it. Does yours shift hard in 2nd as well? Thanks for the Birthday wishs. My W222 S550 is fine. No issues with the tranny. So far I'm enjoying every minute of my ride. No regretts.
Another question how often do I have to change the transmission oil tht I jus herd u mention
Change your transmission fluid every 4 years. The 1st change is at 40K miles, or 4 years, the 2nd at 80K or 8 year, the next at 120k or 12 years.
How long is your daily commute?
My daily commute from home to work is half hour each way. With traffic 1 hour going home. Once in a blue moon I would travel out of state. But don't forget, I use this car for everything in between so it's constantly on the road.
I got a 2014 Mercedes Benz s550 all I had to do so far was change the brakes.Is there anything tht I should change. I'm at 80,000 miles right now
Did you change the oil at every interval?
Seat Massage systems fail on my , it won't work . Any suggestions.
Did you check fuse 305, 306, MF1, 421 and 470, 471, 490 and did you put a scanner on it?
