You're a natural teacher Giulio. Thanks for the tips
Oh hi! Thank you :) I have another one coming up next week!
Love it Giulio!
Thanks man!
This was a great watch. When I take pics, I really express how I want a model to look and just go from there and let them be expressive! It’s so fun because I used to model and I think I was pretty decent at it.
Yeah giving them a concept and letting them run with it I find gives you that candid look still, plus they can add their own style like you said!
Love this video! Amazing! Keep going!
Thank you! Will do!
thanks for sharing your experience!
My pleasure!
Great reminder !
Glad you think so!
Great Material!
Thank you!! I appreciate it ❤️🤙
very helpful!!
Glad it was helpful!
This is great! Would love some povs with composition tips and posing interactions with non-professional models. Keep it up!
You have given me the right ideas ahah end of Feb I am going to Melbourne to visit my mate with a really cool style, I'm going to shoot a video with him and a proper model and we can compare, pov style! Thanks man!
Great tips and thanks for sharing your experiences.
This might make you feel better about not bringing a reflector. On one of the first group photo shoots I attended, I brought a Glow 52-inch reflector and it was way too big and clumsy to use 😅
I got a Savage 36 x 48 inch reflector and although it seems close in size to the 52-inch, it just feels more light and agile to use. Also folds back up easier and smaller.
Great point about building rapport with models and working on your posing skills. That was one of my first big epiphanies on a photo shoot too. When I was a beginner I used to be jealous of other photographers’ gear. Now I’m more jealous of photographers who excel at posing.
Are you in Australia? I highly recommend checking out Peter Coulson’s CZcams channel. He’s amazing at many aspects of photography, but his posing skills are first-class.
Cool to see what videos you make next.
Oh man a 52inch! That's huge!! I would prioritise something that can fold up small and easy over anything else, seems like you made the right choice.
I had the same epiphany honestly! I still get a bit shy or look at other photographers the same way but it has helped a lot to try and imitate them also.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check him out and learn off him as well. I am in Australia, based in Sydney! More vids to come, not planning to stop anytime soon :)
Whoa I'm never this early. Very exciting.
Ahaha I appreciate that 😅
Killing it my dude, i swear i talk to much on your pov footage xD
Ahahahah not a bad thing mate, gotta make a proper pov video for both of us. Could review a lens together or a sequel to this vid with a model
Awesome points I sub because we’re about the same level of photography so I want to tag along lol keep it up buddy it’s a very rewarding hobby for me
Thank you! Welcome to the club ahah I love this hobby, it really helps mentally, physically.. everything!
Great video ❤
Thank you!!
Good video!
Thanks! I appreciate it :) definitely more to come
Very good, and most of all very honest and clear. Liked and subscribed. By the way, your voice and cadence remind me a lot of Sean Tucker. If you don’t know who he is, please check him out he’s one of the best out there.
What a comparison ahah I feel so honoured 😂 I love Sean Tucker, my street photography is inspired by his and I love his presence on CZcams, it feels very authentic. Thank you! You've made my day
Awesome! Yeh probably should have brought my reflectors and diffusers that day, how unprofessional of me! But definitely a cheap and effective way of getting good portraits, studio and outdoors!
We all were 😅 it's the stuff I wish I knew right ahah
At least there was that one guy
nice vid bro, i was at both shoots too, , shall see ya on th feb 4th?
Hell yeah! Thank you. I reckon I'll go in for another shoot, try to make another video about it as well
Comparing you to Sean Tucker is an outstanding compliment. I also subscribed to your channel. I only have one issue with the photo group.
There were too many cameras pointed towards the models. I only attend groups that shoot one at a time.
Crazy compliment! I feel very honoured ahah I really like Sean Tucker and he inspires me with my street photography so I feel blessed 😅
I fully agree, the second day I went there were even more and it was hard to be with the model. I mostly just slipped in and took some shots. It was a good experience to learn about portraits and have the opportunity to add it to my portfolio though
I agree he sounds just like him…
I can't believe this is a common comment but I'm loving it. Thank you for saying that!
First
The rightful place ahah
Who is paying whom?
What do you mean?
@@GiulioLavenuta Is this customers paying the photographer, the photographer paying models, TFP? What is the business model?
Oh right! This was a portrait workshop organised by the Sydney community, it was free to join :)
