LFS is a really fun game and I love seeing people still give it attention! Cruise servers and scheduled races are the only real things keeping the online presence alive, I hope we will see just quick play racing lobbies one day. The track editor is not really out of the question however theres really only 1 dev thats working on the game, so it might not come anytime soon, that being said theres a high chance LFS will get a graphics update, which includes a day light cycle and a rework of the south city map some time in 2024.

Yes. I played it yeeeaaarss ago on a cracked S2 license but bought the legit S3 one few months back. The mods and the upcoming car and map remasters are so worth it. Still a blast of a game

The fact the AI is mostly able to comprehend custom user-made mods is unique in sim racing as far as I know. Nice video Thomas!
I'd say the price of S3 is easily justifiable though. This is an indy game after all and not the product of a huge studio such as the other titles you mentioned.
Thank you! I was lowkey impressed with the way AI handled every car, even though it's not the best AI in the world. I get your point about the price too, as a simracing enthusiast it's a must have. But if I have only, lets say, €/$ 50 to spend on a sim racing game and I am just trying out the genre I think there are better options.
@@ARIE.23 I think that's perhaps why I made the comment originally. You made it sound like the price was unjustifiable full stop. Until LFS gets its next big update, I think I'd tend to agree with you that if you're new to sim racing, there are probably better, and cheaper ways to see the potential of this genre, which is kind of a shame because LFS used to have that hallmark.

I've just set up my wheel and installed LFS again. I had an S2 from a friend but I've decided to get an S3 account so I didnt mind to pay the 42€ it costs. It feels so much different with the mods now. I've been having Supertouring races with the AI and I'm having a blast so it was good to be back :)
LFS will always be special. Good to see people are still supporting the devs, let hope the big patch gets released #soon

there are only 2 propper racing mods in live for speed, both are published by kenblock30, the "prototype 2", a very well made lmp2 and the "protech 92" the new porsche 992 gt3. apart from those two, the rest of the mods are focused on cruising or memes, not too serious, but they still pretty fun.
I saw a video in which they used the LMP2 for a league race, that looked fun. Also this league (using mods) seems crazy but so looks good: www.gripmasters.fi/emotorsport/sstc-2024. I hope we'll see a big update from the devs soon.
there are way more than 2 racing focused mods. there are open wheelers of all categories including my own indycar mods (one of which was shown in the video), Skip Barber F2000, Formula Ford F1600, a ton of F1 cars, plenty of touring and GT cars, quite a few race karts, the list goes on and on
My Brother in Racing, I hope you've tried more mods off-camera. There are many good mods. Yes, AI is cr*p, and everyone is sick from driving the same tracks for 20 years. But at least we can do our own layouts now. Unlock all of the "area". Westhill, for example, and do whacky "tracks" on support roads. Or use Layout Square.
LFS always looks so bad on video, but feels so good to drive it. Slower, more boat-like cars, especially.
Yeah, it’s so hard to do it justice. Maybe should’ve done a road car race too, I tested multiple races, also in slower cars, but against the AI they looked pretty boring on video. Will definitely revisit the game whenever they release the Sciro... Oh, the day/night cycle update :D
Used this sim for many many years back in the days of the LTC server and its still, for me, the most realistic for handling out there. I learnt to drift on LFS and still enjoy it from time to time, but its just a shame the devs neglected it for so long. It could have been phenomenal, but for now its just seen as stuck in the past.

@@ARIE.23 that’s how people view it, hence the player numbers have decreased significantly over the years. I still use it occasionally because I don’t feel there’s another sim on the market that feels anywhere near as accurate.

I think the latest patches (test patch) improved the AI by quite a margin, you could try that. Nice video tho :)

Us real enthusiasts dont care muxh about graphics but more of how the game feels and this game feel like you are actually clenching your ass and grabbing your gear lever like its real life

lfs and assetto corsa have bunch of street cars， variety of playing ways，drifting，drag，stunt，cruise and more，other sim only have GT racing car，boring🙁
