Don't buy CarlinKit TBox AR - android dashcam review

- 11 reasons not to buy #CarlinKit TBox AR.all-in-one dashcam, android box, and wireless CarPlay/AndroidAuto adapter. I've been testing this product for couple months and I can honestly say that this is device is faulty by design. It does not function well as any an Android Box, #dashcam, nor the wireless adapter. It has problems with image quality, recording stability, system performance, boot up time, there's no parking mode, saving videos is difficult, there's no support for cars without touch screen.
✌️ Instead I do recommend getting CarlinKit 4.0 wireless adapter AND a separate stand-alone dashcam.

Boot up speed is too high - skips short trips!
Video freezes for couple seconds
low bitrate = artifacts and glitches, noise in low-light conditions
Marking emergency footage is difficult and takes too long
No parking mode - no power when parked
Requires additional memory card - does not store footage to internal memory
Can't use system UI if car not equipped with touch display
android-related stability issues - mostly CarPlay related
using internal mic for Siri - low quality HFP instead of A2DP
ports on top - can't install as high as want/need
port icons not visible from inside
one-time use sticker mount - can't reposition/switch vehicles

I'm completely agree with you. I hope o saw the video before purchase. Also it heated alot and in hot weather it stopped working and fail to connect.

The 1 minute bootup time sounds like a YOU problem.

Thank you for your review. We developed it because we found that some navigation apps support AR real-world navigation, and it is suitable for these scenarios. Its recorder function is indeed not up to professional recorders, it can be compatible with some image-based ADAS, this is our attempt. We are still optimizing and perfecting this product.

I have this and have had issues for 2 months. Now it doesn't connect to car at all. The support stopped supporting. They ignore my emails now. First it wouldn't shut off when I turned car off. Then it started giving tf card error message. I brought another car, worked for a month and then tf card not conform showed up again. It no longer hold Bluetooth or wifi signal. And now the box will not connect to car at all. The USB ports work with other devices, just not this anymore. Was incredible at first. Now I just want a refund because they're not even trying to help fix the issue.
Don't you ever warm up your car? That time would help for it to work you just saying
its the worst you can do to your car/engine. starting it cold and let it idling......

Carlinkit wireless adapters are not good.
I went through couple of them and had no issues. Looks like I'm lucky.
I have th AI Box witch Android 13 and after a week I am still impressed and happy that I bought it.
