While they are trying to figure what went wrong Jaco entertains the crowd with unplugged electric bass for 20 minutes. Our minds were blown and it was incredible. His fingers were bleeding because he played so loud. A true legend.
As I'm a bassist that sounds incredible. Jaco was king but you got to see Herbie Hancock. That guy's one of my favorites. Good thing he did not have an acoustic piano?
Being able to play those difficult lines as loudly as he is, is insane! The way he always has that raspy sound from plucking so strongly has influenced my playing so much

A large portion of the population thinks weather report is what you get on the 10 o'clock news right after the sports update. Add to that so many have had their ears damaged by shitty music of the times and what do you expect.

yea everybody talks about jaco but not many people talk a bout joe doubling the bass perfectly in his left hand while playing chords in the other hand. zawinful was a beast
I love the sound of new bass strings. I have a buddy's bass at my place with its original strings. Thing has never been cleaned. Although I'm tempted to polish it up and put new strings on it, lol, I told him I'd keep it nice and dirty, grimey and thumpy for him like he asked.
I love Flea and RHCP’s!! But the beauty of the way Jaco played it was his placement of the notes and feel was like no other. No one ever plays it quite like Jaco did!! He just laid back a millisecond on notes and had his unique feel. Probably the best ever even though there is a long list of my favorite bass players.

Flea is a legend, no doubt. He was able to play that loud even though the bass wasn't even plugged. Not sure, but I think I saw him being a little sloppy in some parts of the riffs, though it might just be me, so....anyways, great performance from one of the world's legendary bass players! Every time I hear Flea play I just want to practice for the rest of forever trying to get that same level. Jaco too, but I personally like Flea’s punk funk style better
Gonna admit as a lifetime bassist who follows bassists like Jeff Berlin, Stanley Clark, Henrik Linder, etc., I never really could "get" Jaco's stuff granted I can objectively see that he is a genius. Just not my jam I guess.

I attended a gig of Red Hot Chili Peppers last summer. And Flea skills impressed me the most. Incredible bass player!
