That pump it up and bees wax combo took my hair clean out in middle school, not to mention I was using that rat tail comb to detangle and smooth. No wonder I had to do a big chop and start fresh
I had a “friend”/hairstylist detangle my hair after my conditioner treatment with a paddle brush, I had to let her know that’s a no no 💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾… it will rip out your hair as well. Needless to say I don’t go to her anymore 🤗… Your hair tips are AMAZING. Thank You for sharing your knowledge.
@shanaemartin5010 I have the denman paddle brush. And honestly I believe it is specifically for detangling and heat styling. But now I'm thinking you meaning more so the ones with the ball at the tip

I’m just so ready to go back to perming my hair. Been natural since 2021 and it’s hard to get some body to do my hair. I’m past 50 and I don’t want what I see alot on yT that older women gets. Grow out hair and then chop it all off to get a texturize.
Definitely go ahead and do it. Watch his relaxer tips videos so you have a solid routine. I got tired of it taking 3-5 business days to detangle 😅 I missed so many beautiful days outside last year just dreading my detangling sessions.

Some girl on TikTok said her stylist said hair wasn’t fully detangled unless it was done with a small tooth comb. I was like, do what you want but I’m gonna keep my partially detangled hair on my head.
I actually only use the parting comb to do multiple undo hair, removing dirt after undoing hair and parting. It does a good job with removing the creases which turn into dirt before washing it. No breakage 😊
