Funny you mentioned the story that was presented. From what I know, he wrote the song based off an old couple he randomly came across and thought they were really cute. So he made a backstory in that tiny interaction.

I do love his Tagalog songs more as they feel deeper for me. I don't know, I feel OPM love songs lose that "Hugot" factor when sang in English. However, out of all the current English OPMs, I could say this one is on the top for me.
Not a fan of collab sometimes coz there are times they dont sound near as good as the original. But try to watch and listen to the collab between Zack and Billkin, singing this same song. I think you will also like it!! 😊

I love that you're delving back into more Filipino talent! AFAIK in interviews Zack has said that he uses experience to fuel his songwriting, in the same way Taylor Swift uses her past experiences.
I have a recommendation if you want to keep delving into popular modern OPM: Juan Karlos. He's not quite a crooner like Zack, but he puts so much emotion into his performances and was discovered in the same way - through the TV show The Voice.

From my perspective a lot of great talent in Philippines especially in singing because of culture and tradition. Singers in the Philippines mostly gone early competition at barrio fiestas, where no age bracket. So early age they learn to hound their talent especially belting😍🥹
Absolutely my sentiment as well, that this was like those mainstream songs that Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber etc that will produce. Dont get me wrong, I love Ed's and JB's songs, it's just that, it's the vibe i got from the first listen and the funny thing is, I didn't know who sings this and when I looked it up, I was surprised to find out that it is his song!
And yes, i love this song but i love the first 2 songs you reacted from him more.

Perhaps the reason why I love this better than his other songs is because I'm not heavy into HUGOT songs (overly emotional with somewhat cringey lyrics) plus I'm not so into songs with lots of falsettos coz I love hearing singers' vibrato. But if you can have vibrato while doing falsettos like Stell does, marry me. 😅
He was invited in a university in Singapore or Malaysia? And sang that song and Pano. I didnt know he was populsr in those country, Indonesia 4too

His batch included JK Labajo (his "Ere" is really popular right now, and covered by Pablo during that event with Shopee), Darlene Vibares which was a member of YGIG, under SBTown (of Tatang Robin), Darren Espanto (who did that collab with Morisette, with Disney --- A Whole New World IIRC) and Lyca Gairanod (who also had that collab with Alamat in "ILY ILY").
Anyway show business in the Philippines is incredibly insular, where you can trace relationships with different collabs and projects. The rabbit hole can indeed be so deep.
