Are purified light stones worth it to open on Black Desert Online?

  • The rates of purified lightstones were released on March 27th, 2024. This video uses those rates to calculate whether or not it is worth it to open purified lightstones!
    These rates may have been obtainable elsewhere on BDO but this is the official rates on the black desert online website that Pearl Abyss has released.
    Additional note: the break-even point is when the calculated value of purified lightstones is the same as the price of the purified lightstone on the market. If the market price is LESS than the calculated value it is worth it to open (since the average you get when opening them is more AKA the calculated value) In the video, the market price was always MORE than the calculated value, making it worth more to sell at a higher price then the average of what you would get while opening them.

    It might make it more worthwhile if you need lightstone shards and mulch the 5 mil lightstones.

      @Kashira25398  Před 3 dny +1

      It can be okay if you already have these purified since you save tax, though on na at least its pretty easy to pick up lightstones at min, so it does depend!

      Thanks for the sub! On the black desert online website (at least for NA) you can hover Overview -> Adventurer's guide -> scroll down for probabilities.
      I also put a link in the description of the video if you just want the lightstone probabilities

    You can add the fact that most lightstones will never sell in the current marketsituation with sometimes 5-6 digit min price listings

    • @Kashira25398
      @Kashira25398  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah that definitely can be a concern depending on the market, luckily on NA I've found them to sell quite frequently. Personally I never sell min listed lightstones since I just turn them magical lightstone crystals, which I value higher then the minlisted price, which is why I valued them at min listed price in the video, though it can definitely be a concern if people intend on dumping lightstones onto the market!

    Would purifying those by alchemy and opening them would be worth more or less than just selling the sealed ones ?

    • @Kashira25398
      @Kashira25398  Před 21 dnem

      Purifying is going to be based on the market prices and whether or not you have the items already, generally if I have both the imperfect lightstones + magical shards already, I just purify and sell the purifieds. Though sometimes market prices can make it not worth doing. I would check on bdolytics before you purify any lightstones

    I had 7 strikes after lightstone release and sold em for 1 b each bc I was too impatient. We I returned to the game, it took me 60b invested to get two back, I’d say don’t do it

      Early on it was a great way to get some quick silver, now if you manually grind kratuga or spots that drop artifacts and turn them into lightstones, you might be able to get a decent return opening, but generally it's not recommended to buy them from the market and then open them, at least with the current market prices.
