- As a youth pastor, I helped develop a lot of young communicators at my local church. It ended up being one of my favorite things to do while youth pastoring. After a few years of watching these young communicators flourish, I realized I had something special + valuable. So, today, I'm sharing some of those invaluable tips, techniques and habits. 1. Diagnose your patient. Counseling+conversation=content
2. Pray
3. Identify a passage of scripture or prescription + Peace check ✅
4. Read 100x, 50 Observations of the passage, Interpretation, Application
(Back end work like crazy).
5. Take the top 3 observations become the 3 points. And write my thesis statement.
6. Points must be relevant to the thesis statement or title
Thank you for this breakdown
7. Start your introduction with a relevant story.
8. End the sermon with a call to action.
🔴 Gold Nugget Alert: "A sermon is not meant to say 5 things, it's meant to say the same thing 5 different ways"
this is how it works for me. If I'm given a topic or theme I pray about it and as the words come and I jot things down before putting the sermon together I will get confirmation along the way. I'm not going to try to figure out what's happening and come preach on that. God knows who exactly will be in the church He knows exactly what the church needs to hear so I allow Him to give me the word.
I have been preaching for 20 years and I can tell you this was absolute fire!! So good ;) God bless and much love!!
This was amazing! I am not a preacher but, I feel God is calling me to speak to people. I am working on my communication skills because they need work. I sometime ramble and no direction to the beginning and the end. This will be God as he use me because I am not a writer but, I desire to become a good writer. Thank you for this segment and I will follow to see where this leads me.
To me, you're approaching it like a motivational speaker.
God gives you the diagnosis during prayer while preparing and once your spirit begins to move you see who and what’s in the room.
I watch about 5 different video on how two write a sermon and I must say this is by far the best and it makes so much sense because you must have the right prescription for the right patient

Truly more enlightened about observation, because lately I have been keenly observing scripture to get a deeper revelation. I like your “Get 50 Points and choose top 3” So now I can take that to maximize my observation.
However in my opinion you say to diagnose then pray and then select your scripture somehow when it comes to preaching I think Prayer is #1 it’s the key to unlock the door so God can now navigate you to scripture then based off your observation you will begin see relevant diagnosis And then you talk God and ask the question “what are you saying to your people? and from there and with your top 3 points you will now see the connection that is made and you will complete your message along with the other steps you suggest.
Your outline step by step would work for me if I am in a group session like youth fellowship, or discussion settings.

I enjoyed video and I am going to ring dry the text before I preach again.
Food for thought; I have a cause and a channel but honestly have trouble with focus and anger among other things. I have given up everything and traveled the world in search of God and am still lost. Found my wife in Jerusalem though. I feel God has given up on me but I have witnessed so many miracles that I have a complete inability to not believe in God. I’m 44 and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up but this video has given me so food for thought. Maybe change my approach to the battles I’m fighting. Thanks and when I’m able I will check out your online course.
I love this soo much. Preaching is an art, you really gotta know to master is for the maximum impact. I have been serving the Lord for 22yrs and to see ppl give their lives to Jesus, it just never gets old. Salvation is the best and ultimate journey every human needs 😍
Praying for an hour in tongues gets my head prepared. The second hour I get ideas on a topic and jot down Scriptures and the third hour I get the sermon that links the Scriptures in accordance to what The Holy Spirit is saying about the topic.
