- Stardew Valley has become so popular, it's now the baseline for any game that releases with pixel art graphics. But if you booted up this game expecting a cozy farming/life sim, you'd be in for quite the surprise...
In this video, I'll showcase gameplay from the newly-released Dreamed Away demo. I've been following the development of this game for quite a while, so I'm extremely excited to be able to show this off now!
And be sure to check out Dreamed Away!

About Dreamed Away (from Steam):
Dreamed Away is a story-driven action-adventure RPG with dark elements set in France in the 90s. Play as Théo, a boy lost in a mysterious world. Explore a unique reality, duel against darkness and mind your choices.
Unique Combat
Instead of the traditional menu-based combat commonly found in RPGs, Dreamed Away features a unique, fast-paced combat system made of mini-games.
- Challenge awaits you as every encountered enemy has different variations of dodging and time-based mini-games of increasing complexity.
- No magic, no weapons. Use your skill and strategy to defeat enemies.
- No random encounters.
Story
On a rainy summer night, Théo wakes up in his bedroom and realizes his parents and his sister Louise have disappeared. The true nature of the world lays itself bare. Ghosts, Phantoms and Revenants haunt Théo inside the catacombs and dark places where he searches for his sister. Always a step behind and never able to catch up.
What happened? What does it mean? Why is this place so familiar?
That's how his journey begins.
Features
- Immersive storytelling that takes you on a journey to solve Théo's dark and unsettling mystery.
- Diverse setting: varied colors and environments that bring you from a vibrant, peaceful atmosphere to those dark and mysterious places.
- Detailed and aesthetic pixel art setting that is worth exploring.
- An original soundtrack by Nicolas Petton.
- Unique skill-based combat system. - Hry
What do you think of this? Will you play it after release?
Making pixel art genuinely creepy and unsettling is such an achievement. I will be watching "Undertale/Earthbound: Legacy of Goku but scary" with great interest
Legacy of Goku đ The cookies!
I remember playing corpse party as a kid and mad father. Definitely gives me the same vibes.
Interesting! I'm not familiar with either of those, but I'll look into them!
This is awesome! Definitely excited to see more!
Are people really saying this is like Stardew Valley...? I'm genuinely confused, because it's nothing like it at all
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, fair or not, if a game has cute pixel graphics, Stardew is pretty much always mentioned. You're right though, Dreamed Away and Stardew Valley don't have many similarities!
Good video!! I like it!!
Also looks a great game!! I like it!! Good job for the developers :D
Thank you so much! I think Nicolas has been doing a fantastic job so far. Excited to see how the rest of the development goes!
@@LootsMcGoots You're more than welcome!!
And yes, Nicolas has been doing a fantastic job :D
It reminds me of undertale and omori
I've still never played Undertale and I feel like I'm missing out
@@LootsMcGoots Although I did enjoy playing through it , I would say itâs a bit overhyped. I would still recommend it to you for the experience.
For a minute I thought you were finally playing Kindergarten đ
I guess that would fit the video title too, wouldn't it? đ
this is similar to omori
It's very cool to hear all the similar games! I think you're right.
@@LootsMcGoots it looks really cool, excited to play this game eventually
