Are young people right to want to legalise cannabis? Feat. Dawn Neesom & Henry Bonsu | Storm Huntley

  • A new report found four in five people born between 1997 and 2012 - that's people aged between 27 and 12 - believe the drug should either be legal without any restriction or available through licensed shops.
    This is compared to less than half of the older generation - the Baby Boomers - who think cannabis should be legally available in licensed shops like the state regulated dispensaries in America.
    Are the Gen Z youngsters on to something?
    OR are the Boomers right?

    People act like everyone who uses cannabis gets psychosis. Meantime most ordinary people who know people who have used it for years don’t know anyone who has ended up with psychosis due to cannabis!

      There aren't any published studies of cannabis causing psychosis, because It's mostly propaganda. The reason it's done is that people instantly conflate psychosis with "mentally ill" in the derogatory sense. Yet, people seek and are prescribed cannabis for it's calming properties to lower debilitating symptoms caused by mental health conditions; whether it's ADHD/Anxiety/PTSD/Depression or otherwise, the term psychosis is still thrown around to make all cannabis users look like "mental nut jobs". It's propaganda unfortunately, it stems from the boomer rubbish about marijuana being the devil's herb etc. Meanwhile those same people will casually neck a whole bottle of wine / 4 cans of beer a night for their liquid heroin addiction funded by discount deals in asda and tesco for a purely recreational experience (alcohol has ZERO medicinal value), the reason? Because some people have their heads up their own arse and need it forcibly removed.

      @@daniCantona She talks about Skunk, but clearly has zero knowledge of what skunk is. It's literally a name given to a handful of cultivars purely as a descriptor to categorise the plant. The same way we have Yellow tomatoes or Orange tomatoes. Cannabis with purple leaves may be named Purple Punch or Purple Haze, or if it has a sour pungent smell, then a grower might label it Lemon Skunk or whatever else. It's a name. Nothing more. Many "skunk" strains can indeed be on the lower end of THC% strength. Everytime you hear someone mention skunk like this, they have a clear agenda, it's literally taken out of context to demonise cannabis.

    It's definitely time to legalise recreational cannabis in the UK.

    OF course, the biggest profiteer of cannabis is a Tory MP, who owns the biggest weed farm in the UK, exporting it all.
    So, why would they want to legalise it and bring in any competition?

  • @philrudkin
    @philrudkin Před 24 dny +5

    It's available legally for medical use through a clinic for mental and physical health conditions. It's just more profitable for them to keep it this way as you have to pay clinics for appointments who have to pay for it to be imported at massive cost and provide a really low quality product to "patients". Legalise it for growth and sale, sell it, tax it.
    I've used it for about 20 years almost daily (except the last 6 months as I can't get my prescription as I live on a boat now) it helps me greatly. If it's not for you don't use it same as you wouldn't if alcohol.

      It really isn't a low quality product. It maybe was a couple of years ago but it really is very good quality and decent value you money. Especially when you consider that BM is vastly subsidised because it uses mostly stolen electric and trafficked labour!!

    100% it should be legalised. They very rarely talk about the health benefits that cannabis has for certain medical conditions. Also, why not gain the revenue from the tax it would provide?

    Legalise it, regulate it, tax it, use tax to fund better community services and fewer people will turn to drugs in the first place. Main reason people turn to drugs is their lives are terrible and it’s an escape. Make their lives better for a start…

    • @Secretextract-fs6tu
      @Secretextract-fs6tu Před 23 dny +1

      My life is and always has been excellent! I am on a giant rock flying through space, on a one time only deal and I am going to enjoy my time here.
      Cannabis just makes life better on every level! Most people aren't using drugs because we have terrible lives, we are using them because we know how to enjoy it.
      It is very easy to fall into the trap and propaganda the biased UK press create about drugs. There are a small minority who use drugs as escapism but for those people cannabis is probably just the gateway to more significant substances and cannabis is hardly good for escapism, I'd say it does the opposite!

    • @PLl-jr8xi
      @PLl-jr8xi Před 23 dny

      Yeah
      . Cause everyone's wants to pay for tax on weed. All it would do is help big dealers, the black market in cannabis grows in countries where it's legalised.

    The attitude hanging out of the presenter is quite disgusting. Cannabis has been legal in the United Kingdom since 2018 for patients with a qualifying medical condition. A prescription is easy to obtain if you genuinely have a medical problem that cannabis can help (despite the blonde ladies misconception that it's difficult). And believe me, it will more than likely be the best help you ever receive.

      I really do think these so called members of the public are either members of channel 5 staff or paid actors who are trying to sway the narrative and opinion against smoking cannabis if you listen to what words they're using and how they tell their stories they clearly haven't got a clue of what they are talking about. Plus the first woman said she was 48 and had cannabis induced psychosis 30 years ago from skunk 30 years ago would've made it 1994 if she could have got skunk back then in Britain she would have been a time traveller. Back then it was nearly all hashish about. I know because I've been smoking myself since around that time.
