- I'm back and talking about the spirituality of Fromsoftware games and why Elden Ring just might be the Goat.

The story of Elden Ring is so tragic it’s very moving once you understand Fromsofts games storytelling on a deeper level. Great videos btw.
as an educator, the ending really resonated with me in schooling, of art history and the common folk being touched, without ever knowing why. GOD the intro of dark souls 2 makes so much sense with this idea in mind, for those failing to see the deeper meaning. I always felt like miyazaki was teasing in a way.
reminds me of the end of the new EVA movies where they are like, dude live your life stop watching anime wtf and they run off to do just that like the viewer is being told to try to do.
Feels like Anno took the cowards way out with that final rebuild film by critiquing anime but still refusing to age his characters from sexualized children while telling his audience to grow up. The irony was palpable.
When I was young and played Super Mario 64 I loved it. Years later I played Halo CE some of the open world Maps gave me the same feeling of wonder. I remember thinking how would games be in the future and Elden Ring is it for me. It has its own long story and you are left to figure it out. Great music in the game aswell as the incredible world building.
I enjoyed the video a lot but BG3 is still a great game. Was surprised that you took a pot shot at it. ER and BG3 are 1 and 2 for me. If you play as a righteous Paladin or Cleric you can get a similar experience.
Gameplay wise bg3 is fine, i was just focusing on its love for some dubious elements.
How long did it take you to come to these conclusions?

Yup you hit me with the great irony: the most apparently "degenerate" medium of popular art the only to offer "regenerate" beauty in these our last days.
I agree with you Elden ring is one of the most depressing games ever made..
But I disagree with you it's balanced...it's not..there's no hope ,there's no light...everything is tainted..
It's the most oppressive game I've ever played...it's reflected in it's gameplay..where 90% of everything you come across is trying to brutally murder you..
Caelid is an oppressive hellscape...but the whole game is caelid the difference is caelid has the color palette that tells the player "this is hell".
Only at the end of the game..there's some hope...based on the ending..but it's not clear what those endings mean
Lol I don't think there's a single wholesome family just living life in the lands between..
That being said I love Elden Ring.
I think you could be interesting, you only need to, not do so much word salad. Use normal sentences and not just some fancy words in a combo chain. As if you’re competing against someone, who is going to say the most dramatic description. 😂

Open World Dark Souls isnt the best game ever made. If this game was From Softwares first attempt at the souls action RPG formula then youd have a better argument but Elden Ring is basically just Demons Souls on it's 6th iteration in an open world environment with more and more content added to the base formula.
I rank Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne ahead of ER, just because of how those games broke a lot of new ground, especially Bloodborne. I will say one thing about ER, the story is pretty much unmatched. ive been fascinated by the plot especially since the DLC was wrapped up
