    Good ideas/advice. Thank you! I am already using the thermometer mentioned. also use a heat blanket to warm my glass jars :-)

      Thanks Hanne :) Oh that's a great idea! The current wax I used doesn't require pre heated jars but that's a fab tip x

    Thank you for a really useful video, those piston funnels look like a game changer. I'll have to treat myself to one of those!

    Thank you for the advice and much needed video. I found this very helpful as a beginner. I spent roughly over the amount in USD and I was worried😅 but it seems I did alright after crunching down everything I could to bring down the cost.

    Great video! What made you use a soup kettle over other candle melters? Do you also use a ladel to take the wax out of the soup kettle?

    Why you cohse to make your candles in jars? and not freestanding

    • @IvyTwineCandles
      @IvyTwineCandles  Před 3 lety

      Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :) These are container candles and not pillar candles, they are more common for small candle makers to make (in the UK at least)

      Can i make Pillar candles with the same Soy wax, or do i need some special mix for it?

  • @Joe-os3vp

    Is there any reason you chose the Limeow (?) Pistol Funnel (from your link) over the cheaper ones on Amazon? It also has some very bad reviews, although they could be fake. I am confused which brand to buy as they all look the same yet have a big price range. Plus bad reviews put me off.
    Is the one in the link the one you use (so must be fine)?

    • @IvyTwineCandles
      @IvyTwineCandles  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello! I just linked the one that I bought - if you check the dimensions on any cheaper ones and they match then feel free to go with an alternative listing! I checked the reviews on the one linked just now and it does have 70% 5 star reviews, it seems the bad ones are maybe faulty or damaged from transit. Never had any issues myself though 👌🏼

    Great suggestions! Do you add and mix your FO on the kettle first and then transfer it to the funnel?

    • @IvyTwineCandles
      @IvyTwineCandles  Před 3 lety +3

      Thank you! I actually don't add any fragrance oil to the kettle as this would mean having to clean it out between each fragrance, but i can show my whole process in a video if that helps? :)

    • @latinlabel
      @latinlabel Před 3 lety +1

      @@IvyTwineCandles Yes, it would definitely help as I am looking into buying a funnel but don’t want the extra pieces to have to clean.

      @@IvyTwineCandles That would be a great video if you could show your whole process, for example how do you get the wax out of the kettle, do you use a ladel or something equivalent?
