Demidov all the way. Forgot the Kane comparison, Demidov is the next Datsyuk.
Most scouts agree he has a higher ceiling than Celebrini. Hawks need forwards, defensemen and goalies - so we take the best available player and that player just so happens to have the potential to be the best all around player in the draft.
Demidov plays all 3 forward positions. Center and both wings. He's a jack of all trades. He primary plays LW because of how hard that position is to fill. So for all the talk in this comment section about "picking up a free agent 1st line player" - YOU AIN'T FINDING A LW LIKE DEMIDOV.
Demidov is one of the most exciting players you'll ever watch. Every scout, every hockey website, every hockey channel, is BUZZING about this kid.
He is solid at BOTH ends of the ice - how often do you get an elite offensive winger who is just as good in the defensive zone? He has insane 200 foot work ethic, a shot that rivals Kucherovs, and passing skills that will pair perfectly with Bedard.
There are multiple other defensemen and forwards that are in the conversation with each other - Parekh and Levshunov, Lindstrom and Iginla, they're all competing with each other- but Demidov stands alone.

Demidov is not the next Marian Hossa. Hossa was 6' 1" and he played at 210-220 lbs. during his long career. Demidov is not a physical presence nor will he become one.

Demidov should be the pick. But if they go D i would rather have Buium. They only player in the draft that may start next year is Celebrini, or Nygard. Everyone else is a year or two away.

Demidov
IIRC, Fanatics will have two factories for producing NHL jerseys. One will produce replicas, while a second one somewhere in Canada (Quebec, I think) will produce the ones NHLers will wear. It's one that already makes hockey jerseys. It seems things will be okay as far as what we see on the ice. Outside of that, it remains to be seen.
One thing I don’t hear talked about a lot is trading out of #2. I’m not wild about anyone in terms of a sure fire thing and at #2 overall, that’s what you’re hoping for. How often is that done? Unfortunately, I don’t think the haul would be all that great for this draft

Tbh I just think these guys don’t want to see Demidov on the hawks and I mean these experts CHGO has been advocating for Demidov.every one knows you take the best player available and they know you can’t rush a d-man politics keep Demidov off the khl team he double his point total vs The amount of games he played in the pick is simple and you find your rhd with pick 18 or trade or next year draft.

I'm with Greg. I'm sick of the discussion, and I just want them to pick already. I'll be happy with whoever they pick, because I trust their judgement over anyone else. They have more information on these kids, and how each fits into what they're trying to build, than do any of the general prospects guys, or any of us. The Hawks have lots of holes to fill, and each of these kids can fill one of them. Not looking forward to the endless tantrums of those who are unhappy because their favorite guy didn't get picked, though.
I wouldn't mind the Hawks taking a flyer on Laine--if they don't have to give up much. Coming to Chicago might be just what he needs. As for his injuries, perhaps the Hawks' staff can do a better job of preventing them than did his previous clubs. And, if he does get injured, it's an opportunity for a prospect, and the Hawks sure have enough of those.
Top 4? Let’s rush to draft him. Golly can’t wait for a top 4 number 2 pick who isn’t solid on defensive decision making .. woo hoo
Levshunov all the way. Can always sign free agent forwards, but not a top defenseman from the right side.
I wouldnt be disappointed if Lindstrom was the pick at #2 but i dont want Demidov. Yeah he plays great against 2nd tier players, but what happens when he steps up in class ? I pass. Hawks need more size.
It’s Lindstrom for me. Centers with his skill set are incredibly rare. Skating, scoring and a physical edge. If his health checks out I'd take him.
Its the second overall pick. Would you rather draft a Kane regen or a most likely 2nd pair good defenseman?
