If you want to buy TWO at the EARLY BIRD price (per Bluetti CEO):
Please follow the below step:
1. Visit the project page and click the “Manage your pledge" button.
2. On the following page, select "Change your pledge". From here, you’ll be able to adjust your pledge amount to two EP500 or EP500 Pro. For example, origin amount for one EP500 is $2799. Plus one more EP500 is $5598. Then adjust your pledge amount to $5598.
3. After the project ends, we will send you a questionnaire through the Kickstarter platform and then you can fill in the quantity, address and relevant information.
Any solution that allows ordering two “super early bird” offers for EP500???
@@philipmorgan1438 Scroll down the perks list there are options to buy two.
@@HOBOTECH I thought so looked all the way down but I couldn’t find any options for two or a second one. I’ll look again.
HOBOTECH your link to the kickstarter didn’t work... I went there from the bluetti website. I ordered the 2-pack of the nonPro version. Hopefully you can still get an affiliate kickback. I’ll buy you coffee at that link after I get my wife to forget forget how much I just dropped. ;)
It was your review that convinced me to get 2 instead of just a single unit. Amazingly detailed review as always. Thank you!!!
@@HOBOTECH I found it but the “super early bird” have a higher unit price for two than for one! What gives?!?! IMO, That’s crazy!!!!
44 minutes to get a solid understanding of what this unit does is NOT too long. I really appreciate the thoroughness.
The realest shit ever when he said those gas generators call attention to you. When everyone else has nothing but they hearing your noisy generator, that envy starts creeping in out of desperation.
My relatively quiet (yes, it is!) 3800/3500 (that's 3500+ watts output and tested w/out a hiccup) Wen weighs 104 lbs and costs $650 shipped to the door..!! Maybe I should build a steel cage for it, chain it to the house, attach flame throwers and plant mine fields around it..?? LOL!
Unless you use blackout curtains a simple lamp by the window will turn your house into a beacon. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses..."
If they can't hear it trust me they will smell it. If the blackout lasts for days/weeks you'll eventually run out of fuel for it. Not so with a sogen. Blackout curtains are a must!

Yup, no longer makes sense to DIY in most cases.
Yesssssssss!!! Can't wait:)
Wow..this can power my tiny house..awesome For ,me, the weight might be a issue Thanks Tom, this ole woman has learned alot about solar from you..
This is the most amazing offering I’ve seen! Two of them would be even better! It shows how far a home backup system is from a camper system like AC200P but we’re getting there! Thanks so much, Tom, for a clear and comprehensive review of this groundbreaking system! Kudos! 👏👍
It's so awesome. You could simply decide one day to buy another one and then have the double power...or not. Unbelievably great option to have if you ever wanna take it!!
You would be MUCH better off with a hardwired system at that point. These are mobile and convenient but once you get to where you need multiple the cost just becomes way too high compared to a hard wired system
@@evocati6523 Certainly depends on much you want to pay for the extra mobility. I think that DIY approach requires a lot more stuff and knowledge to assemble. Having it all sorted out and warranteed is certainly worth a lot. I wouldn’t buy the EP500 (or Pro) just for mobility.
@@evocati6523 how is that? The price of the Battleborn batteries alone in two EP500s is $6800, the Kickstarter price for two EP500s is $5999
@@evocati6523 A lot of people rent, though. They can't go modifying their houses around roof panels, marine batteries and a buyback grid system. With this you wheel it into the living room, put panels in the garden / on the balcony, and plug stuff into it.
Reached Kickstarter funding goal just now.
One hour 28 minutes after launch!
By god, I've got mine!
It shows that it hasn’t hit the goal. Can I buy this unit?
What add-ons are necessary?
I wonder how much more this will grow in capacity.
Love the growth of technology in these times
This the most thorough analysis of a product . You have gone out of your way to cover practically all aspects , including uses ,quality and capacity as well as marketing and value and comparisons .
You have left no rock unturned .
I hope the company shows its appreciation for your video and I hope it achieves all of the views that it deserves . Nice job Hobo !
Jumped on this right away. I just hope it there aren’t any hurricanes before August. Thanks, Hobotech!
They are going to try to release in July but are playing it safe this time with delivery dates.
@@HOBOTECH Keeping my fingers crossed for July. I really appreciate your updates!
Yeah, I backed the EP500 Pro and that is slated for October. I'll survive with the AC200P until then.
@@EsverCamacho eb240 option w 240 total (2) on am zon too. Sce unreliable now
50-50 chance that you'll get it on the date that's on kickstarter.
New subscriber, we do not RV, off grid, or will never be able to bug out in any way. I have been waiting for a product such as this, for medical equipment and basic creature comforts. From watching your video this product may be the answer.
The Professor is doing a dawn good job to help Bluetti producing an awesome power station. Be aware everyone: Dealing around with solar tech can be addictive.
"Hernia engaged." LMAO! That is a beast! I would definitely get one or two of these if I was doing the tiny home thing.
I think I'd like to see a modular solution from Bluetti where a user can get a base unit and expand in a stackable fashion similar to Titan, but with all the feature this unit has. The base unit would be the brain and the user can buy addl batteries as needed plug n play to suit his needs. That way the weight is more manageable in smaller pieces because of the modularity. For example, this unit would be comprised of maybe 3 pieces that connect together @ 50lbs ea to make it more easily portable. I hope that is the next generation of offerings from Bluetti.
are you kidding me?
Now that bluetti has done just that, which one would you buy ? this one, or the ac200 max or the ac300?
@@michellelaclair kidding you?
@@AGhostInTheMachine yea,its like you wrote the script!! See next comment I sent for you
@@michellelaclair I doubt they saw my comment LOL, but I'm stoked they moved in this direction. Have not locked in on anything so far, but the 300 is where I'm leaning. I tend to procrastinate when it comes to an industry that changes/improves this fast. Tricky to choose an entry point because whatever you choose will be obsolete soonafter.
I’ve been waiting with baited breath for this review. Wooo! Thanks for releasing before the campaign starts.
I was up until 5am getting er done but I did it!
@@HOBOTECH thanks for all your hard work! I totally trust that if you give something the thumbs up that it’s worth buying. I’m backer #3!
Ordered this 8 months ago and it's arriving tomorrow. Hope it's still revelant lol
When you pulled out the 30 amp dc cord, it immediately made me think mic, and I giggled waiting to see if you said, "30 amp microphone, so you can talk directly to this beast." LOL I always check with you before I buy tech. Thanks for your demos.
Of course I bought the ac200 two weeks ago, I did get the 2nd tier at $3194, with generator plug. I was late for $2799. I hope I get a $360 T-Shirt from Bluetti for being tier 2. Thank you Hobotech
I got the pro with the dual ac plugs. I'll have to get solar panels another time. But thank you hobotech. I'm glad your channel came up in my recommendations
Sounds smart. I'm also shopping for the solar panels.
What did you find for solar panels?
I connected 4 Sunpower 435 watts panels and it tops off at 1,217 watts of solar power
Just got in on the super early bird special. I Got the EP500, not the pro. Says the shipping dates are around July I think.
$2799 for EP500
$3799 for EP500P
But those prices are for the very first few hundred people, so get em while you can!
So excited to get it!
August
how do you get this? i keep looking and can't seem to buy it
Size and weight are no issues for the tech and performance we'll get from the bluetti💯💯💯
But cost is.
I have done the research and this Bluetti is by far the best unit you can get today. I just ordered one today and cant wait to use it. Cheers!
I use the AC200 to run lots of stuff in my 3 bedroom 2 bath home daily and it’s been working great for 6 months. I wish this would have come out first. Same for the 200P!
Me too bro. Ima bite the bullet and buy this one. Then be disappointed when after the kick starter when thry launch a 6000w hour afterwards most likely
@@noctilucent7396 At this price you can sell it for a profit when the next one comes along.
I know!! I just purchased the pecron.
AC200 is not UPS, correct? What sort of appliances are you using at home?
Its 4-17-21. I use ac200p to run Dishwasher at 200-950 with heater on. The GE huge capacity clothes washer 180-950 in spin max. Dryer gas, couldnt see spike but it tripped under volts on eb240. Ran fine. Runs 200 or so. Some times it draws 800+ watts when heater on to ignite gas. Not all at once. Input use 500+ solar with ac charger when it draws 900+ watts with both 23 cuft fridge n washer running. Max load so far at 1600 steady.
Kicker: LH 14000 btu port ac unit it runs ( only by itself). That drew 2800 peak to start. Then went to 1150. AC cannot run with fridges on. So I put them on sce or eb240 with air on. I use 180w BVRouge panels 8 of them. Series parallel on eb 240. Series on ac200p. HIGHLY SUGGEST UL 10 gauge wire to panels. I use 100' length no issues. Placed in full sun 7-5 pm now. Hope it helped you.
When women tell me that size doesn't matter, I send them the link to this channel.
🤣
When you start measuring power stations in the ability to charge an electric car to a ~~ probably 10-20 percent at 8000 cycles to 80% 🤔 ok here’s the $5500 then another 2000 for a proportional & effective panel set ok for sure done ✅
When a woman says size doesnt matter- the guy she is talking to is Rich$$$
I’m just luvin you even more cuz you sound like a a Trekkie!
Thank you for all your testing on these products.. You rock !!
Look forward to seeing what the standby wattage consumption is on that beast. Both with the inverter on, and off (12v on). Curious how much the battery would go down when idle for 24 hours. Thanks!
You can also use it for a boat anchor.
Trying to think of anything else you could have added to this video and coming up dry. The video is thorough from a technical to an economical even to a street smarts sense. Good work!
Just purchased 14 solar panels to charge this thing. Now I can't afford this thing. Great review, really enjoyed this one, thanks Prof :)
14 solar panels? Isn’t that overkill? I’m just learning so this is a serious question. Thank you.
@@tammyneff6472 Hi Tammy, no I was being facetious - I didn't really buy 14 solar panels.
Lol 😝
I'm glad to hear about the OTA updates to fix the early bugs.
Upon unboxing it, my review unit immediately started screaming "exterminate! exterminate!" and tried to mate with my dishwasher. Also one of my cats is missing?
🤣🤣🤣
Under $3k?, my ac200p arrives next week, was talking to my wife about this one though and guessing at least 4-5k. I know what I'll be upgrading to :)
15:35. VERY GOOD, for having a list on YOUR website. I gotta see the website. I gotta see the list. I'm working on a structure of a website, but I'm in school. Religious, spiritual, informational, health, science, etc. Very GOOD.
Best intro on CZcams :) Freaking awesome.
Glad to see this review Professor. Now I wished I had jumped on one back when Bluetti sent me the notice this was coming out. However, I learned my lesson when jumped on a previous crowd funded product before you reviewed it and wished I had waited for your review. Of course that was not a Bluetti product. I have to show a friend your review as this is right in the wheelhouse of what he is looking for. Thanks again.
Thank you Hobotech. I got in at the $2799 super early bird.
So did you get it already since they say it ships in August 2021? Do you plan on hooking it to the grid to get your solar credit as Hobtech is saying if hardwired in place.
WOW. Only $2799 each. They are calling the bluff across the entire industry with a price point for a 5.x KW Sogen/PPS. I see this thing as a commercial work horse on the back of many work trucks and vans too.
.... thank you, my dude.... spared me over forty minutes of my life....
Finally a true replacement for a standby generator
Thank you for repeating your self 😵💫
Not kidding I’m one of those that need to hear it more than once.
can you do a video with the split level and tied into the house?
Nice price for what you get. One major issue I'd have with this is the max wattage limitation. 2,000 watts is just not enough. 3,000 for the Pro is a step in the right direction but still not enough.... buying two to get more horse power isn't a good option. For an off-grid application I would like to see at least 5,000 watts.

4 minutes 37 seconds - per ERCOT that is how close TX came to full black out with the system being down statewide for weeks/months and requiring manual restarts. Shit would have gone sidewise in a hurry. People were looking for food and water within 5 days. Prepare!
It was definitely a close call. People need to wake up and understand in most dire situations help isn't coming anytime soon.

The ac200 kept us from the masses, we were home, warm, fed hot food and entertainment was a breeze. Just add water...👍🏼
@@PeaceJourney... Just got mine last Monday. It is a piece of mind I must admit.
Oh the lies...it wasn't that bad, lol .. I live in Texas ..
Thanks for being honest. I was wanting a 30 amp and will wait it out.
Nice unit overall. My feeling is that the lithium battery and generator space will change greatly in the next year or two again and offer better features and bang for the buck. This launch price is a deal though.

I think I can understand the two to three year warranty. But I want to say no, not really-- more like five years, especially if you promising 16 years of battery life. I want to say five to ten.

GREAT in depth video my friend and thanks to you the family has decided to pool together our stimulus money and and get the Bluetti EP500 PRO while it's on early bird. 3000 watts of beautiful green power at the ready! haha
Still trying to get over feeling burnt by the Indiegogo offering of the AC200 then the LifePO version was announced before I even received the order.
how much did you pay for your AC200?
They have to stop these kickstarters.
Exactly.... how much did you pay. The AC200P was $800 more so anyone with the AC200 got a smoking deal. The reason they kickstart is because they aren't as big as Jackery who can blow $50k on fancy release presentations. These are incredibly expensive to make. We're talking millions in investment.
Installing it in my Van.
If it's got generator support mode I'm sold 👍😀
OMG ! now I can save up for one of these monster to power my 30 amp RV !
I'm thrilled with my Bluetti AC 200P.
Just discovered your channel while doing research on solar generator. I live in New Orleans so we deal with hurricanes every year. We just had major damage from hurricane ida. I had my Jackery 240 and a gas generator. Put to real world tests, the lower end Jackery barely lasted two days. Gas generator was solid but way too loud. I had concerns at night. Felt like it was a cattle call to tell everyone we have power here. Just ordered the bluetti ac200p and solar panels. Hoping that will fix most of my concerns.
This is not a generator, it is a battery.
Game changer... Wow... Great job as always hobotech...
You are an amazing individual. Thank you for ALL you do. I absolutely love your channel. Top-notch, Professor!!
This looks awesome. I'm going to wait for the second round of production and then make a decision.. Not sure why this is better than one of the new integrated inverters and a few good batteries, other than a cool looking case..
Its not better, just more expensive.
Outstanding review. The product is too pricey for me but if I was going all in on a battery backup this would be given strong consideration. I use a propane generator with a transfer switch for power outages but I know at some point in the future I'll invest in something similar to this product.
4:59 looks like a large piece of rolling luggage 👀 but way to heavy to be a checked bag 😆
Finally a power bank that lets set your own charge discharge limit. Been waiting for one of these for 4 years- to reduce the battery abuse these units can inflict only problem I am in the uk 😭 but hopefully in time ! This option is the best feature ever for longevity
A quick note... you mentioned in the video that you're not able to charge via DC. This is true for the base model, but the Kickstarter page indicates the Pro can charge from 24V DC. Just thought people should be aware, though I doubt many are looking for the ability to charge from DC. 😊
How come a battery that presumably you'd want to charge with solar panels not be able to be charged via DC? (You mean it just doesn't have the connections? I charge lifepo4 batteries all the time via dc for amateur radio)
@@anthonygorrell1343 Sorry, I should have been more specific in my wording. Aside from solar inputs, the base modeal doesn't have a 12V or 24V input port for charging from batteries. The solar input is DC, but at a much higher voltage (I believe 55V minimum?) The Pro model appears to be advertised with a 24V port.
Bro - you are the absolute best at this. Keep it up!
According to the Bluetti FAQ on their Campaign site I found this information:
After the stated 6000 battery cycles, how much capacity is left in EP500 and EP500 Pro?
EP500 and EP500 Pro can maintain above 50% capacity after 6000 cycles.
Most comparisons are stated at 80% capacity or 80% DoD. 6000 cycles sounds great but what is it at the usual 80% that most people use as a guide line so that every one is talking of apples to oranges?
Hey Prof HOBOTECH, a couple of things I wanted to mention:
1) At 27:40, you asid people will need at least 3 12V pnales to be within the 55V minimum charge level. Did you mean 3 22V panels?
2) If that 100W USB type C is dual in/out capable, they could do some kind of super-slow charging while they are driving or otherwise using the car.
Thanks for doing another great video!
There are no such things as "22v panels". 12v panels output Voc 18-24v so you need 3 for at least 55v. As mentioned in the video the USB-C is not bi-directional. Note that the Pro model does support 12v/24v car charging.
Don't waste money on a gym membership - you can be strong, & have plenty of juice💪👍💪
Are there any downsides to linking solar batteries like PowerOak in serial? One battery charges the other via AC with the end battery receiving power from solar... solar---------[battery 1]------
I should of worn a bib before I started watching this video...its that drool worthy...!!!!!
Dang, this thing is an absolute beast in every sense of the word. Whao.
Wow. I need to win the lottery because I definitely want 2 of them 😅
Yeesh, just stop buying lottery tickets and you can afford this in less than a year.
Got in on the Pro model and will use it with the AC200.
Me too bro!

Would like display screen with more contrast. People with lower vision cannot read that screen.
It's actually easy to read and my eyes suck. It's the camera angle that makes it look hard.
Noticed voltage droop on your ac discharge test reading as low as 116v.
AskIve was here but pockets is a little light for this one. haha
Please do a video about this “solar generator” when it becomes available in the summer. That way, we can know when it is available and what glitches have been addressed. Love your channel.
Crikey! This could be the warp core for a DIY RV.
This would have been perfect when I was in Army in 2012 Super Derecho and lost power for two days! It could have kept my fridge cold during that time!
Awesome! Thanks👍
Got mine today. To be safe, you need two people with a dolly and truck ramps to get this to your porch. Well protected by molded foam and heavy cardboard on a pallet. Unpack on its side. Keep foam or cardboard under it at all times until you get it upright to avoid scratches or a drop of the dolly.
This thing is so heavy, the elephant has grown to maturity and needs a ladder and a howdah just to mount it. You may need white coat delivery or back surgery.
On the other hand it only sticks out 6 inches from the 24” deep counter where I removed a useless trash compactor. I don’t mind because it looks nice (until the cables stick out). I have not powered it on yet due to the late hour.
Gripes are 1) AC charging cord is too short to reach back under the EP 500 to a high outlet! 2) Why is this cable on the front where it’s in the way and the concealment door must be opened straight and is likely to get knocked off?
3) Charging plugs should be right angle type also for same reason. 4) a 2000 watt inverter is quite small for a unit this big.
Got mine this week as well. You don't appreciate how big and heavy these things are until they are in front of you. Seeing it on video just doesn't capture it. It is absolutely massive. I was able to get it off the wood palette and out of the Styrofoam protection by myself, but I'm paying the price the next day in my back and legs.
Same observations on the AC power cable. It's a little short, and if you want to back up the unit against the wall, you want the charging plug on the backside, not the front, so you can just plug it from the back (like a fridge). Having it on the front is very inconvenient. Once it's on the wheels it's easy to move around. Thank goodness my home is single story.
That looks like it weighs as much as the Warp Core.
It is the warp core.
Wow! They were selling this for basically half off! Which means when these videos first come out, that is the time to buy one. So like Hobo said, buy two power your whole house. I could of bought two then for the price of one today! I will know what to do next time. These solar generators are just getting better!
It is not a generator.
Why promote battery cycle life of 16 years when this technology will be antiquated in 5 years? Let's address the real pink elephant in the room Tom. Replacement parts and repair costs during and after warranty.
Because it doesn't mean you have to move up to newer technology
That seems to be a BIG gap in almost all online reviewer's discussions/examinations, nearly across the board in every channel. They are compensated for pull-through sales of the products they review by channel. Since most SoGen/PPS are new releases, even possibly Kickstarter/IGG "prototype production runs" there is little solace in believing there will be spare part availability when you may need them in warranty or thereafter through some reasonable life cycle. Big assumed risk on consumers.
@@johnruuu Yes and 16 year battery life means nothing if that unit as a broken inverter, charger or dead screen, firmware obsolescence or no support. emergency service during a crisis? Forget it.
How are we supposed to know what's going to happen in 5 or 10 years? Most just ask how long the battery lasts so that's what I answer. I can't predict the future. As long as you have a warranty it will be fixed free. Just like any other electronics. If you take care of it, it will last you many years. Most will upgrade every 2-3 years anyway as technology changes.
@@HOBOTECH How are we supposed to predict what's going to happen in the future? Ask the manufacturers and the leading innovators. After warranty service is important to consumers especially on high ticket items and just like all other electronics quality components are critical for those trouble free years. Higher efficiency and features are a given for the future as always, a single high capacity single unit with built in 120+ 240 volt will be in the future and of course battery upgrades will make this ho hum but that's they way it goes. Let's see if this will become a classic or a pinto.
15:10. Heck yeah, THAT'S a plug. One that snaps in. Very GOOD. "Aviation cable." SPEAK.
Hi HOBO. Anything in the works from you for the dedicated UPS video and App video? I just received my EP500.
This video really puts into perspective how much battery requirement your EV car has with a 60 to 90 KW
28:40. "Monstruos" is right. In the back of my head, I'm also knowing that the capacity is HU-GE. An RV could only have this if they had a dependable acid 12 volt nearby, just in case use is needed elseways. I still need to get better at understanding how fast it takes for solar panels to charge, but I sure like the fact that you can use some batteries while they're charging.
You could replace all the solar setup's with this and avoid all the mess and wire's. And expense of having to get it wired.
Battery charge limit should be available in any model. My ecoflow river pro has it. If i have it plugged in to solar or use it as ups i don't want it to be sitting at 100% for long time. I am checking out bluetti ac180 now because it has wireless charger and bigger inverter but it seems to be missing alot of options that i would like to have control over in app.
I look forward to the EP750/750 Pro ( guestimate) with the following additional features:
a. 7,512 W; b. 4,000w/6,000w inverter; c. more a/c and d/c output ports; d. input port to include anderson connectors for up to 6 awg wires; e. separate ground wire input for connection from combiner box etc; f. larger pv input cable to accommodate 6 awg wires etc. (in addition to anderson connnector) and
in split phase mode: a. standard 120/240v plug from system to transfer switch to enable multiple 2 pole in transfer switch;
I know you made a good recommendation to have steel covering etc. I guess you would have many more recommendations.
The above is to bring the system into line to compete and replace bulky residential gas/diesel generators and to corner the market for apartments. as flexible solar panels can be place on the glass/windows etc to charge the system without bulky pv arrays.
It's awesome that's what I been looking for a hook up to the house
Does it come with a trailer hitch ???
That is a pretty impressive system. But there is one feature that you don't mention that I think is very needful for using it as a UPS, and that is a way to tell a computer that the UPS is running out of energy. This is a feature that most UPSs have had, starting with RS-232, through USB and Ethernet connections that will tell the computer system to shutdown cleanly before the UPS is totally depleted. With that, I can see a lot of these devices showing up in small server rooms around the world.
Love Stuff like this.. Even though I can't afford it now but looking and learning about it makes me wanna save up for one of these..
