All 24 City fans are going to be devastated with this.

Couldn't help yourself there couldn't you. Different scenarios and you know it. Chelsea didn't break no rules, I just can't get my head around how dumb people are in this world. What's hard to understand about Chelsea that has been explained a million times. City are being accused of falsifying their finances for over a decade totally different to what you are trying to accuse Chelsea for. Just because our owners found a way to not break FFP rules and spend as much as they did and your club didn't think of it, its not our fault. Internet has really made people so dumb it's unbelievable

The fact uefa rules essentially say, if you can hide it long enough, you can break any rules, is crazy.
init man
its not uefa ...! whats up with y'all
This would be under the FA would it not?
It's the difference between illegal and immoral. Something being immoral would be along the lines of "that's not right/fair" and judged by intent/effect, something being illegal is down to the wording of the terms of the law and therefore you can do something that seems broadly wrong as long as your legal team can present it in a way that doesn't directly contravene the law. If the prosecution can't prove that you did the thing they specifically told you not to, it is essentially legal. Unfortunately this is why a lot of legal loopholes exist within the world of both corporate and private finance.

I'm surprised the FA haven't concluded the matter sooner, a strecth spanning such time-period from 2009-2018 is damning. Might as well call it an oversight on the FA's part. To be fair, financial investigations are often very long and complex anyway. One that ends with over 100 charges, spanning a 9 year period, is an incredibly complex case. Not surprised they spent 4 years gathering evidence before bringing charges.
The question now is whether they can actually follow through.
The only reason they released it today is because the English gov’t is going to announce plans for independent financial regulators literally tomorrow. If they didn’t, I guarantee the League would have sat on it for much longer
Well, breaking the rules 100 times does make them the Infamous Centurions

Thanks to money
As a City fan… I have no words, and am extremely ashamed… but I will continue supporting the club, after all, our owners may be shameful, but what’s shown on the pitch is not, you may not like the club, but you cannot deny our football is beautiful, I don’t support City for the money, and because they’re the best club in the world at the moment… but I will always be a proud supporter, and say what you have to say, show hate, I don’t care. But I will continue to love the club, after all we made history…
To haters, I’m 12 years old, and am Brazilian, I moved to Manchester a few years ago and it was never easy, but watching city play made my life better, watching us lift the cup helped me, and made me love football. My club in Brazil has a lot of history, but fights for relegation since I was born, I always suffer when I watch Brazil play, I was in the stadium in the semi-finals against Germany, and it was never easy. I’m not victimising myself, I’m just showing that even though I might seem like an oil club supporter, I am not, I support city because I love them. And to who wants to know, I started playing football after watching city play, fell in love with the sport, started playing, and now play under 13s for Accrington. I hope City get through this hard time, and haters… keep commenting, send us to the championship and we will be back in a few seasons.
I think most big clubs in PL are guilty of this kind of stuff
As a UTD fan, I would feel like possibly going above city because of a points deduction would feel like it took something away from us doing it properly, but if City have been cheating like that while winning cups etc all this time then even that punishment would be light tbh.
Also, Pretty unfair to put Pep’s face on the thumbnail since pretty sure he is not the owner of City.
City should be relegated
What? Nah nothing will be taken away from us because of their loss
They should get relegated
@@calzed2215 I’m talking about the satisfaction of going above them by them losing games and us winning etc. but I’m saying despite that, the fact that they have been cheating giving them the edge to get trophies in that time, means we don’t need to feel that way and they actually get away with it lightly.
Also QPR literally throwing them the game for the first PL should of been spoken about long ago too imo.I have never forgotten those scenes and couldn’t believe Rooney actually spoke on it recently. (But that’s another topic)
I always find it strange how they never mention the owners by name when this stuff happens, like you said, why is Pep on the thumbnail?

They broke more rules than they have fans
For persistently and knowingly breaking the league’s rules for nearly ten years is expulsion really over the top, I’m fairly sure if an organisation did the same thing in any other industry the company would be forced to close.
Yes, expulsion should be mandatory. Look at the owners, and you know they will break the rules constantly.
Doubt it just look at the banks found guilty of mis selling products, rigging rates, money laundering for cartels and terrorists and accepting cash from counties under international sanctions. Or the energy companies covering up environmental impact studies, price gouging and lying about the scale of pollution from their mistakes. Or the tobacco companies falsifying studies into cancer and bribing Drs to advertise for them. Or big pharma fixing prices, lying about side effects and addiction of their products and paying Drs to push their products. Or car manufacturers falsifying emissions data. None of those companies have been forced to close.
Not being funny but if they reported it one year and proceeded to report the same way following seasons. They have only been told about it now, so it's not exactly persistent or knowingly if they are being told about it now 😂
Persistent is if they got charged before and then the following year they did the same offence
"I’m fairly sure if an organisation did the same thing in any other industry the company would be forced to close."
Maybe only to the little ones, but that's usually a bigger competitor driving them out than anyone in any regulatory capacity. Just look at the UK energy sector, clearly run as a price fixing cartel and the regulator does nothing.
@@leopold7562 Exactly. Big corporations always get away with tax avoidance and financial misconducts. Some CEOs even get bonuses and golden parachutes after fudging with the numbers or going bankrupt. It's the little ones that gets punished harshly. Won't be surprised if all City gets is a £10 million fine.
Whenever Klopp makes a comment on this it’s “why’s he always crying”
because he always does it every time liverpool drop points, he is crying 💀
Retrospective points deduction would be hilarious. But I'd say at the very least a redistribution of prize money should league positions differ. Obviously there are further implications from finishing higher up, such as CL money, recruitment and exposure, but that might be too messy. Taking off 10 points in each season they broke the rules and seeing how that affected standings would be relatively easy to calculate, although deciding how many points to deduct would be tricky.
Easiest and most drastic would be to delete their results from the season and recalculate how everyone finishes with City in 20th on 0 points.
That's not gonna happen thier not interested in fair play they just want to throw there weight about they may have no chins and high foreheads but they have to obey uefa

Not a single person working on this investigation will be on less than 100k a year.
Punishment for Man City: Deduct 20 points for the next 9 season with effect immediately and not allowed to buy any new players for the 9 seasons.
A 15 point deduction please .
15 point ? 100 times breach deserves atleast 30
10 years ban
Relegated them in league 2 more like
As much as I, a Liverpool fan, hates City, I find it stupid how they are more focused on this than all these stupid signings that Chelsea made in Jan. Anyway, City will just buy themselves out of it as always. It’s so stupid tho, punishing teams that spend to much by making them spend more.
this is a 4 year investigation being made public
Chelsea always look for loopholes. This January you’d notice they have very long contracts, like 7-8 year contracts, so they can pay in installments over the years rather than one lump sum all at once
@@davoe16 And the FA are now looking into clamping down on that one, although it's not being applied retroactively
There not focused on Chelsea because they haven't broken the rules, you should read up about it before you put your foot in it
@@davoe16 there is no such thing as a 7-8 year contract 📑
5 years later :
Chelsea illigal spending in 2022/23
wait for Chelsea and PSG, but Ligue 1 needs to wake tf up
Ole and Jose coming back to collect their premier league trophy that was robbed of them cheats
And Rodgers
Will they actually receive medals as penance or do those seasons become void?
If liVARpool didn't pay refs during lockdown Ole would have more prems than Klopp...
If proper research was done, probably the only team who would keep the Premier League title would be Leicester City. If Man city was stripped of the title, Man United definitely would not be eligible to claim a title due to financial fair play
Man Utd have never broke FFP rules or even been accused of it.
Because they spent hundreds of millions over that period without selling anyone for big money. City must have been expecting this considering how many players they sold in the summer.
@mattgee1118once again this is not funny. It’s just spiteful and false.
@mattgee1118you must be mu fans
Their moves for 2022 have nothing to do with the rule breaks from previous years. The accounting is done in periods and you can’t wash rule breaks away by being “good” in the following years.
That being said, City will get away with it because everyone is making more money.
Liverpool deserves to be awarded the premier league for 3 seasons
So Liverpool have 2 premier league titles? Brilliant news if you’re a Liverpool fan.
That Aguero goal to snatch the league from United needs to be given to United, along with the other 2 times that United came in 2nd to City. Also Liverpool needs to be given their league tittles too. We’ve been saying this about City for years!
Mourinho wins with United with Jones and Smalling as centre back partnerships.
Slippy G is no more.
Klopp get 2 more titles with Liverpool.
Ole wins PL with 74 points.
Best of all: Maguire has 1 PL trophy, Kane has 0.
Not just that
This will never happen to Levy and tottenham....so tight
No chance of City being docked 21 points like Derby County were. One law for the rich…………….
I feel like clubs are owed titles for this , whoever finished second each year
Agreeeeee
Why they played football and lost but then some fans just want glory for the sake of it
City fans actually believed that Pep and the players were at the club out of love
The shock, the horror
I think most of them like most football fans don't think that. Players care about money mostly.
Doesn't matter how these crimes came to light. They need punishing heavily.
The fine will be in the eight figure range 😂
The nature of the City statement suggests that they are confident regarding the outcome.
If I were mansour to end this witch hunt I'd bankrupt the Premier lesgue and its individual committee members so we would see ex prem chairman sitting on street corners asking for spare change
I don't see Pep Guardiola managing Man City in the Championship 😂🤣
It’s hella unfair that you get teams like macclesfield town that get ridiculous punishment for doing minor offences (compared to city), whereas city will throw money at the court and get all charges dropped
Football is like the financial tax systems. A smaller man gets punished harder than a rich oligarch.
If they've cheated then I believe all those titles they've won should be stripped and given to the team that finished below them
Does that also mean Villa get a league Cup? Come on, it's been a long time!! Honest clubs are winning nothing...
I used to pray for times like this
You say City is breaking financial rules look at Chelsea spending 800 mil in one month
Surely something has to be done now. We cant keep seeing them get called out in public and nothing coming of it. They need a points deduction, relegation or stripped titles because this will be a joke if City manage to just pay thier way out of this again!.
So what had been common knowledge for every football fan the last 5 years is just now being admitted by the footballing higher ups
You have to remember that there's a difference between knowing and proving. Financial cases are always complex, never mind one which leads to over 100 charges across a 9 year period.
Lol
Retrospective points deductions from previous seasons a possibility?
Disgrace should be deduction from when they won by 1 point. Unfair on Liverpool
Quite smart actually. Accept points deduction the season where they are keen to offer the title to Arsenal. Nothing to lose, really.
if you genuinely think all of this is worth only points deduction you are insane lmao, they basically got injected with billions illegally, paid their players behind the club and faked sponsorships
pretty smart
They also would have to relinquish titles to United and liverpool lol
@@RobaMostarRoba how is it illegally
@@RobaMostarRoba I dont know the details seems like a PR rehash from five years ago. The FA are legally on shaky ground. At this moment time it feels like a PR privilege. If Arsenal or United look like they will the league its a point deduction. Out of Europe most probably
