Saw a Boundary at our local Walmart. Still like those. Back in 2020, my Taff was $298, and the Boundary was $248.

At $98 dollars, you should try it.
Don't walk too far from the bathroom. Don't think it is just a fart. That is the worst part of the procedure. I've been thru 3 of those so far. A heated bidet is a great thing for that prep too... saves the road rash.
As I get older, I choose my doctors based on who has the smallest fingers. 😂

Roadmaster Mountain Fury ladies model. "15 speed". And a Next PowerX Sport Suspension "18" speed. Both are steel frame bikes. They're both 26", as well.

Rode my new GT Aggressor Pro yesterday for the second time and I really like it. The only thing about this bike , is both inner tubes were bad. I've seen others on you tube say the same thing.

Love the videos guys. I just picked up a Schwinn Taff Comp for $74 (Wal-Mart refunded me $64 because of a bent derailleur.) So far I've upgraded the pedals & seat. I have a Bucklos (120mm) fork sitting in the garage with a Jessica headset & Uno stem waiting on some tools to arrive from Amazon today. Thanks for giving me the courage to do these upgrades myself. Next up Hydraulic brakes.

Awesome. Got the Taff for $124 and have IXF cranks, bolany fork, and a new back wheel with upgraded cassette to 42teeth. The LT Woo derailleur works great with the swaps. Oh, changed to a Jessica headset and Wake handlebars... It's a sweet XC bike for very few $$$
Boundary was 248 and it jumped to 348. I bought mine at 248 and literally days later (sept 15, 2021) it went up. One of the rare times I didn't get screwed on price timing. Speaking of taff comps I saw one at marshalls for like 130ish, I almost grabbed it but didn't need it of course, plus it was a big bike, bigger than the boundary, but a sweet deal. If I didnt have the boundary, I would have grabbed it and just got on my tippy toes to avoid my marbles going internal....on the plus side if that happened, it would be less parasitic drag..haha. Great video like always!

Yeah, a comparison of something like the base Rockhopper versus the Epic hardtail (Pro or S-Works versions) would be cool to see y'all do.
We built that Aluminum Female out for my son who was a tween. We put a fox fork, LTWoo 11-50, and hydraulic brakes on it. I kinda think the Ardor is an earlier version of the Trail
What do you do with all the Suntour forks you take off. Donate? Repurpose?
Boundary was the same price as Al Comp when I bought mine! $248. Glad I kept both my frames. Women's Al Comp is a great bike for women and men. Good video fellas! Missed you guys! Hope your procedure goes well Wolf Dad 🙏

The era of reliable MTBs that are affordable has long been dead. 10 years ago, $350 got you in the game on a useable bike. Today, that barely pays for a pair of tires and grips.
Lots of used bikes though. Facebook Marketplace has a ton.
I bought a $140 Huffy and I'd smoke you anyday of the week on any kind of terrain.
I grew up on Huffy bikes and I was a bicycle master.
9:52 I wish all mountain bike frames had a low top tube for low stand over height Hard core hardtail these days have that.
This step over frame is not fully stopover, if it was true step over the top tube would be steeper, go down lower. But the top tube height looks good. But if it was an MTB, the seat tube should be lowered too.
It does not make any sense to have mens bikes with high top tube and women bikes with low top tube, what would make sense is to have a proper geometry, so the top tube is low on all bikes, unless intended for road riding and bike packing with frame bags. Hitting the privates on the top tube is not nice.
When I see all those crappy bikes at those prices, my head spins.
I think one of the best walmart bikes I bought was the Mongoose Dolomite ALX in a small size!

Bass Pro Shops now sells moutain bikes (and E bikes) i just picked up the full suspension Ascend Yungas. It is a budget bike with decent specs. i got it on sale for $644 and they even added a military discount on top of that sale price....

22:08 If you go for USB-C cable, go for a braided cable. I have Belkin. They have survived a lot. I have them in my backpack. they can handle getting bent, the head won't fall a part, USB port it self won't fall out of the head, it still works, even the one that got badly bent. I had it for few years now, think 2 or 3.
Avoid Svive cables,m they are junk.
A proper USB-C cable is important for me, I need one to charge my phone with the battery bank I have in my pack pack.

18:43 This bike looks the best, seems to be the best option in this video. But I suspect the bottle cage mounts at the seat tube might reduce the insertion depth of the dropper post.
Most components are junk, pedals are useless. fork is not for the gnar, plastic parts at the top, so can fail and coil can shoot out.
I just bought an 18" large Kent Trouvaille for $398 at my local Walmart today.
There was also a Schwinn Boundary next to it for $348. I also remember seeing a Taff Comp last time I was there, but I didn't check the price.
The chain was routed correctly through the derailleur. Production date 1/25/2023.
The frame had a second routing hole for the dropper, unlike the single routing hole on the original Trouvaille, and not dremelled out like the one in KevCentral's video about the updated Trouvaille.
Taff Comps have been on clearance for $124. Yes, 124 on the web site. Got one a few weeks back.
19:37 those tyres remind me of Kenda Nevegal.Quite aggressive tyre for this type of bike. I remember I tried Nevegal when I was a kid, 2.1 version, in quite hard rubber compound, they were awesome on wet roots. But won't roll so well. But a tyre like this does not make sense for this type of bike. It's meant for some mud, some wet roots, and rough gravel riding.
23:06 The worst classic bell I've heard. So quiet. Usually the advantage of such bells is they work when wet, and have a loud ring. But if it has plastic parts in side it will fail.
I recommend Timber Bell. It's a cow bell with a switch, off, medium, full blast. easy to operate, but lube the wire so it won't get stuck. The ring/ding is loud, no need to ring the bell, as it works by vibrations, turns, shaking, so if you ride it will ring. So you can turn it on before a gnarly section and blast trough a trail.

so i travel lot for work and was in Bentonville a few months ago (fr i work for PlayStation on the retail side) and i LOVED the area. considering a trip to AR just to ride ...any parks/trails you guys would suggest? I am wolfman size but tick speed. I prefer flow over jumps and can handle up black diamond and am fine with climbs and altitude, especially for rewarding descents and views.
That first Wal-Mart was Al Comp heaven! Too bad they want 300 for a 225 dollar bike.

The Huffy Parkside is a fun bike. Found mine on city wide cleanup, wasn't put together right, which should surprise no one. Is a $98 Huffy even safe? The 29er is $168 on the web site.
Boundry was $248 list when it came out.

6:03 I think you mean semi integrated headset, as integrated means bearings directly into the head tube, which is unlikely any Wallmart bike will have. As in no bearing cups, not pressed in.

7:44 Throw away bikes mechanics hate. The fork might fail, you won't be able to get a decent fork, best option then is a rigid quill stem fork.

22:20 These gloves are pointless, you need full finger gloves. If it's really gel, then it will be horrible, as the gel will wiggle, so hands will be unstable on the grip, it reduces control.
But if it's impact protective padding it won't wiggle, like Poc VPD og D3O padding.
