  • Looking for a way to water your garden that WATERS EVENLY, INSTALLS EASILY, and HAS A GRID FOR for SQUARE FOOT GARDENING? The Garden Grid does all these things. It's my favorite way to water raised beds.
    In this video, I demonstrate how I install garden grids from Garden in Minutes. ⁣⁣This isn't a sponsored post, I love using these grids in my garden and want to show others how to install them in their own garden.
    Little by little I've added these watering grids to all of my raised beds.

    It’s been a year and over that time I have purchased 6 grids for 6x2 raised beds on ONE SIDE of my 20x30 structure
    These are in my greenhouse/ high tunnel and was the contributing factor for my gardens to survive the drought we had in East Texas last summer
    I’m hoping to have the funds to purchase 2 more 6x2 and 2 additional8x2 for the other side of my structure
    Overall I absolutely love these
    It’s because of this video that I took a chance THANK YOU

    These grids seem great but $150 for a 4x8 grid is pretty pricey . If I want these on 4 or 5 beds I'm looking at $600. hmmmmmmm Wondering if it could be done using cpvc or pvc or abs pipes and be less expensive, depending on all the connectors and how to adjust emitters or drilling holes hmmmm Sometimes necessity is the mother of invention, as they say........... I've learned how to do SOOOOO many things since prices to buy products or get people to DO things can be outrageous. Looking forward to automating the watering process even though I HAVE all the time I want each day... We'll see. Great idea for ease & efficiency using the grids : )

    How long and how often do you typically run a grid during the hot Summer and cold winter?

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  Před 3 lety +4

      I run the grids the same amount of time no matter the time of year - long enough to water the beds deeply. It depends on the water pressure but for me its about 8 minutes. What changes is the time between watering. During the winter I may water once a week or less (if we get rain) and in the summer I may water every 1-2 days.

    How many of these grids can you operate on a zone before you lose pressure?

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  Před 3 lety +2

      I have six running on one zone at the same time. There is a mainline with lines going out to each bed. There is plenty of pressure.
      If you have them attached on the same line (not branched off) it may have less pressure by the time it gets to the end. This is how my smaller beds are connected, and there is less pressure on the last bed.
      I would recommend running a central line instead. That way you are also able to put a flow adjuster on each bed and turn them on or off if you need to.
